Steph..And you were blaming just the bread..LOOL..Isn't it amazing how carbs can really
make you gain weight so quickly? Our bodies just grab at that glucose..But, many of us have found if we drink alot of water and eat clean the next few days, it will come off..

Also not to be snarky or mean but LisaInTn had posted on Kimkins she did tell a doctor what she was eating and had lost 33 lbs in 1 month. The doc was horrified and tried to advise her but she wouldn't have any of it. Rapid weight loss causes hair loss-it's hair ladies it will grow back. She also said she was on a different wl forum and left because others were advising her to eat more and that she had been lc'ing for years. I have Fibro and am on a strict vitamin & mineral supplementation. Anyone with a medical problem who will not listen to the concerns of a good doc is heading for trouble. My heart goes out to her and my best advice is to find a good doc that understands Fibro and listen to them about your disease. Another good place for FMS & CFS sufferers is prohealth.com. The owner has CFS and has products, especially supplementation that are geared for CFS and FMS sufferers. I think the symptoms of disordered eating were there before Kimkins was started. Kimkins appears to be a beacon or safe haven for the eating disordered and that is a very scary thing.

Hey, let's just wait a minute here, please. I haven't had time to respond to all the earlier posts to me, but I appreciate the wonderful welcome everyone gave me. I was treated so nicely last evening that it completely contradicted everything I had heard about this board. THAT being said, this post is the exact reason LCF is getting such a bad rap and the exact reason I have hesititated in participating here. I NEVER said my doctor was "horrified" by what I was eating and no he did NOT try and advise me to stop. PLEASE do tell me which post you saw that in on Kimkins and I will run, not walk there myself and copy it word for word and post it here. I told my doctor I was doing low-carb, low-fat. I believe I said while he was not completely thrilled that I had lost it so fast, he DID say that being overweight was worse for me. He also said I looked great and to keep up the great work. Now looking back, I never did tell him my calorie consumption was so low, so now maybe he would advise me otherwise, but I NEVER posted that he was "horrified". PLEASE DO NOT quote me incorrectly or post partial pieces of my posts here. Really, everyone was so nice to me last night, but this makes me never want to come here again.

Blessings,
Lisa

I am not meaning any disrespect at all but you posted you put your hand up and told your doc you didn't want to hear what they said. You also posted that being in the KE bootcamp caused your hair loss to stop. I am truly trying to understand the Kimkims fascination and I do read and research. I try to keep an open mind and listen with a compassionate ear but facts are facts. Please keep posting, especially about your experiences with Fibro and lc'ing. We all can benefit from your experiences. I hope you are starting to feel better.

I'm a water drinking machine - almost 3 gallons a day because of kidney stones.. I ate clean the rest of Friday (I hit the buffet - ok? at 11) and all day Saturday. This morning, it was gone.

My body has ALWAYS been like that, though - I taught aerobics in college, had a body to die for - I went to a bbq one weekend with some friends, had my burger on a bun (which was a rarity), ate a piece of bday cake, and drank a beer - the next day I was up 11 lbs and looked bee stung all over. I lost it in 3 days.

It's been so long ago, I almost forgot about it - but now I know why I didn't weigh for a week after a cheat.

Just rereading your post and again, this is taken completely out of context. WHAT I said was that I had, before coming to Kimkins, been on another LC board where the owner was constantly telling me to eat more! At that time I was eating well over 1200 calories and was NOT hungry for more food. That woman wanted me to eat closer to 2000 calories. I kept telling her I was forcing myself to eat more which was exactly what had gotten me fat in the first place and I wasn't losing a thing. YOU make it sound like someone was trying to make me eat and I was choosing to starve myself to death or something. This woman's message board was VERY tiny because it ended up everyone thought she was way off base, too. If I'm already eating 1200 calories a day and I'm not hungry for any further food, is it wrong to not eat when someone is trying to force you to?? Again, PLEASE either quote me and post the entire post for all to judge, or don't quote me at all, please. Thank you.

If any one is making fun of overweight people, it's Heidi. Every new member that pays her money, she is LHAO at. No lifetime membership, no one on one with Kimmer, EBoook???, maintenance plan (the one she told in podcast that she didn't have a month ago).

She made fun of posters here that couldn't follow her plan, they were weak. People that didn't lose a pound a day, she said lied about what they ate. ("Go eat a fatty cheeseburger)

She, right now, is making fun of every person sticking up for her and her diet.
This truth needs repeating!

You must be quoting another Lisa then because the day I joined Kimkins, I started Bootcamp for about 2 or 3 weeks. I can't remember for sure, but it was about that length of time and then I switched to K/E for the duration, so Boot Camp would not have stopped my hair loss because I started Boot Camp first. As a matter of fact, my hair loss started about about the 4 month mark and has continued since.

Blessings,
Lisa

FTR, LisainTN - I want to point you to the post here Atkins Nutritionals Interview (Repairing your Metabolism and more) about repairing your metabolism - 1200 calories, according to the Atkins interview, is too low and may cause your RMR to fall. That said, eat when and what you want to - I do, and there are several days when I dip below 1000- I just don't want anyone to miss that thread.

And BTW, my post said that the doctor that I put my hand up to was a DERMATOLOGIST. No, I am not going to listen to what a dermatolgist has to say about my weight loss. It said that in the post.

I was just looking, but couldn't find it. I had over 600 posts there. I tried for about 30 minutes to look, but I have to work today. I'd much rather look through my posts then work though. lol

Sorry, I didn't mean to get angry. It's just really bothersome when someone makes it look like you're doing/saying one thing when you really did/said something completely different. It kind of looks like some people are just sitting around trying to dig up dirt on everyone and then running here to post it. Even if I had said and done those things word for word, what does it matter now? What point does it serve to even tell it here? It sure doesn't make a person feel welcome. I am a victim of Kimkins too and already posted last night that I didn't think for myself and can't believe I didn't. I just don't see the point to dragging up things like this that weren't posted on this board in the first place and then repeating them here.

No problem-I really hope you are feeling better soon. There is a great thread on rebuilding healthy ways of eating for those who have been on Kimkins. Kona Sunset is a great poster over there. Please check them out under the Kimmer Threads.

If I said something like that, it was because SHE was a dermatologist! That's what that entire thread was about. The fact that I got a rash when I started this diet. No, I was not going to listen to a dermatologist when it came to my weight and I did put my hand up and stop her. I was there to see her because of a rash, not my weight. Another post stated that I did go to my family doctor and I posted earlier what he said. For years he has been telling me to do LC. Thankfully he seems to be one of the few doctors that does. And like I said earlier, I did not tell him my calories were so low. If I told him that now, he probably would freak out. lol

LisainTN: Low carb IS the way to eat. I'm very convinced of this and will do it the rest of my life. You are lucky to have a dr. who agrees..We all tweak to find the right combination of fats/protein/carbs without undercutting our calories and still be healthy. We are happy to have you here..
