Hey I dont know if everyone is aware or not, you probably all are but incase not......there are a few people here, and I dont know who they are, but they have access to this site and they are copying and then paste ing what is writtien here on there little hate sites .......can you imagine being that much of a drama queen........copy and past this.........GET A LIFE .............I have been here for over a year and I havent had one health issue yet, what a joke

This has been bothering me for a long time and if it offends anyone, so be it. Becky touched on this in one of her blog posts and that was when I began to wonder about the situation with members at KK and their isolation from other members outside of their groups.

The background as I understand it:
When Heidi left LCF to start her own site most of her members followed her there from here. This means that they had a background in low carbing and were more likely to tweak the plan to suit themselves. This is what kept many of the original members safe - they did not follow the plan as written or most importantly the plan behind the plan.

Everyone formed their groups and developed the support systems that they needed. All was good with the world. Becky says that at that time there were less than 4000 members.

Then came the WW article and the site was flooded with new members. None of us know the exact number of new members but it is estimated to be between 25,000 and 36,000. Some of the old timers ventured out to help the newbies but most just hunkered down in their groups. Now these newbies were not familiar with LC and believed Heidi when she said if you tweak it don't call it Kimkins...line up the dominos...etc. They did the plan as written because they didn't know any better and when they stalled they were told to cut and then cut again (the plan behind the plan).

500 calories was not just the extreme fringe, it was the norm. Some old timers heard mention that it was happening and ventured out to offer their advice. Some even said increase your calories...add more fat...eat. But these members were smacked down when Heidi would jump in and say cut, cut, cut. So they retreated back to their safe spots and that is where they stayed. All was wonderful once again.

Now to the part that bothers me:

How could they? How could they sit in their safe groups and allow others to potentially harm themselves? And now they say well I'm OK and I'm losing weight. I knew better. I didn't believe everything she said. I only took the things that I wanted from her plan.

Well what about the thousands of others that didn't know any better??? Why don't they matter? Why aren't their problems and health concerns important? Why are they allowed to flounder without the ones "who knew better" helping? Was not being banned for going against the plan more important than the health of the new members? Was losing weight more important than retaining their humanity?

On this site if you're doing something harmful, you better believe that a dozen other posters are going to jump in and tell you so and they'll bring the scientific studies to back it up. They do that because they care.

And guess what? They don't get banned for it!!!!!

LCF is what a support site is all about....people helping people.

And that is all I have to say.

But I am commenting on "portions" of a person's comment because it does reflect a "portion" of what they were saying. I am NOT going to quote them in their entirety not to avoid displaying their overall thoughts but as a way of not deluding my point. While what you and I say online may not be true we don't use it for a marketing tool to scam the consumer.

and the fact that people are switching back and forth so quickly is just crazy.

It may appear that those praising Kimkins only a month ago or even weeks ago are now on the other side of the fence. . The time to experience the side-effect also may play a part. It takes about 2 months for the average person to start having some of the symptoms.
I don't feel that members have gone back to KK though. SO I wouldn’t say it is flipping back and forth it is more of changing of their minds as more information has come to light. Whether that is their own symptoms, physicians comments or PI pictures.
I had started to develop my doubts a couple of weeks before but for me it was the pictures that came out. We all have our moments of what changed our minds but I have not seen anyone going back

Right up until that point, and even a little after, I was just hoping she'd post, address it all, say "I messed up and I gained it back" and I was sure that her supporters would have rushed to her defense and tried to help her

I can relate to that.The pictures for me were the problem too and the fact that she has never come clean. Making a mistake is one thing but owning up to it is another and Kimmer has not owned up to it yet.

We could only hope that if it ever did hit the media that the site would already be shut down and they wouldn't be able to get the informaiton. From the looks of it over there, more and more are commenting on both sides...wonder how long Heidi will let that go on?

If it's a waste of energy and it's unproductive then maybe it would be best not to emulate the very behavior you're condemning. Why not get some dishes done, watch a movie with the hubby, or do some laundry instead?

I can see what you're saying. I followed it like I was supposed to but I hold Kimmer/Heidi responsible. I didn't know any better. It was her plan. It was how she lost her weight. She said it was healthy and safe.
