People think that Kimmer will act like a normal person. That is the big mistake there. She is NOT a normal person who doesn't care if people die trying to lose weight on HER plan. Once you realize that she is evil in many ways, then people need to do what they are doing.."fleeing...like rats off a sinking ship"..

Asking Kimmer for diet advice is like asking me for football advice. I just say one thing..Run real fast..That's my standard comment. She just says Don't eat that!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Sandy, go back to History 101. The First Amendment doesn't apply to privately run BBs. In fact, LCF (or Netrition, whoever they are) has certainly banned folks for various "violations." Not unlike any other privately held forum. Several members here have complained of being banned from LCF. I know of about half a dozen folks who were banned from ALC as well. There are restrictions on these forums regarding speech if the admins feel that that speech threatens to disrupt the on-line community, or if the speech is not in keeping what the admins want to see on their site. That's true of most on-line forums. It's rare to find a forum where folks aren't banned for stating their opinions. Criminality, malware, or spam will get you banned from about 99% of forums. The next "level" of speech, voicing your opinion, may or may not get you banned depending on the forum policies and/or whether the admins are in a bad mood and/or didn't get laid that morning. Christ on a popsicle stick, I got banned from another health forum for saying I was an atheist in their "Off Topic" section in a discussion about religion. So bannings happen.

I appreciate your concern, Sandy, but I'll stick with Tippy's story on this one. I was familiar with Tippy when I was lurking on LCF after starting Kimkins, and I trust her judgment on this. Besides, I think I've used Netrition all of 3 times since being low-carb in the last 8 years. I just don't use the artificial products all that much."

It seems she did some nice things for this site and for the Kimkins plan by being a spokesperson, but that is over and done. Can we move on, people?

I didn't watch the video, but I can tell you that any kind of Xtian proselytizing will turn me off within a few seconds. It's clear to me from reading a few posts on the Deni blog and a few on the Christin blog that both of these women engage in magical thinking; Deni admitted to visual hallucinations and supposedly named her blog after one of the hallucinations she had. If that doesn't creep you out, I don't know what will. Neither Christin nor deni has any credibility with me whatsoever. That goes for "littlebit" as well.

My doctor is thrilled with my weight loss, and so am I. My maintenance so far has been a breeze. I'm running about 40 miles a week and swimming 4 miles a week. Plus I'm wearing strapless this weekend to a dinner party with one of the men I'm dating. Four months ago I would never have believed that I would be wearing anything but a tent if I had to attend a dinner party with one of my dates. As far as I'm concerned, it's all good!

Bold is mine

Hasn't met Christen, so does't give a rat's behind, hasn't met the all mighty Kimmer, worships at her feet. Hmm

LOL. No kidding. This is why it's not about the diet. It's a personal vendetta. Boo-hoo-hoo - they didn't think of the Kimkins diet first and so aren't pulling in the bucks that Kimmer is. Somebody call the waaaambulance!!

melt

Also? Neither did Kimmer Dude. It's called Stillmans. And now , apparently, Atkins.

Melt is Heidi!! For Heaven's sake how hateful! Melt is also the one bragging about her bedroom escapades...puke, gross. She used these women so badly. How long is it going to take to get that site shut down and force Heidi to face the music?

That really doesn't answer my question. And you are an admim. Shouldn't someone have an idea here? It's about customer service, really it is. When my Comcast account went down, they were able to tell me a time line. That's all I'm asking. Thank you.
lol -in defense (don't hit me!), I would be giving the same answer
Most admins really don't deal in the technical aspect of a site.... i'm just sayin'

There are many diets on the market, diet pills ect. Some including drugs that are now banned but people CHOSE to take them anyway knowing they might suffer problems down the road. I mean what did you expect eating only 300 calories a day? Im just asking where does personal responsibility come in here?
The only way I can attempt to explain it would be if you factored in a few things that all came together in this one diet that made it so dangerous-
-The Biggie to me is Ketosis. The total lack of appetite you get doing this WOE is unlike any other. Your natural defense "the body" itself is fooled and the lack of appetite you associate with "well I must not need to eat" Then you have Kimmer saying that if you have fat to loose then your body has all it needs.
-Calorie restriction is not stated on the plan only cups of this or grams of that and most of us dieted before counting calories and don't realize how low that menu really was UNTIL about a week or so out and really start the program. By then your appetite is gone.
-I felt like going into the diet it was promoted more as Low Carb and the calorie amount was not given. You are focusing on the carbs AT FIRST
-Kimmer played on the fact that she used Dr.Atkins and Stillmans diets so it appeared to have been physician approved
-The diet also was said to be Atkins but with less fat. That played on the fear of fat that most people had been forced fed over the past 10 years while dieting.
-The concerns for the diet were explained away by comparing our VALID concerns to the invalid concerns of how Dr. Atkins was criticized at first for focusing on carbs. Since most of us there believed the low carb WOE is the way to go we were easy to sympathize with how Kimmer's WOE was maybe the new way of thinking and everyone just hadn't caught up to her yet!!
-Lastly, by the time you realize that you are not eating enough the WOE has become ingrained and the pattern is hard to shake. Your metabolism has been shot and you feel trapped. You gain weight when you eat but yet you now realize you are doing your body harm by the low calories it is a terrible place to be when you still want to lose 50 pounds.

I understand where you are coming from and I can only say it was a combination of several things that made it all possible to fool so many. Myself included!

Free Thinking....

You want to know why the scale moved when you added more foods? Because there is a such thing as starvation mode and anyone who says their isn't needs to read up on it.

How long do you think these people will last?
There's an awful lot of enlightening going on over there..

I realize some studies about diet pills didn't come out until people had already lost alot of weight on them, but the study of losing weight too quickly has been on for YEARS, saying you will experience hair loss, weakness, 1-2 lbs a week is SAFE. So ofc you might experience these negative aspects of weight loss on a diet that is being praised for its 10 lb weight loss in the first 10 days.

I am giving my honest opinion on this subject. I think we are all different. I think everyone should discuss a particular diet with their Doctor and should be monitored along the way. Just a note of fact: I have one Doctor who said "Get off that Atkins diet immediatly! All that fat is dangerous!". I told him I was alternating with Kimkins and he said "Just do the Kimkins diet until the weight is gone and go towards a SouthBeach approach for maintenance".

Please take only a physician's advice rather than listen to gossip. We urge you to ask your physician if Kimkins is right for you. We also remind you that Kimkins is meant to produce fast weight loss and is meant to be a short term diet. Again, speak with your Physician.

I added the bold because that is the first time I heard Kimkins is meant to be a short term diet. A way to confuse people over there.
Okay, when did they start calling it a short term diet?
