Seems I remember her posting it was because she was an unregistered member at the time. Don't hold me to that though but she did have some sort of explanation for it.

I don't know, but I don't think people can post if they're unregistered. I was thinking it might have happened as a glitch during a software upgrade but it was so long ago I just don't recall the details.

Yeah, it somehow didn't sound right to me either especially for the fact that anytime we update our signatures/avatars pics, etc. then even all our past posts will show them.

I was a member here back then (different, long-lost user name though) and I remember Winslow and her tuna! She was one of my "heroes" ... she and Bon Bon. I've often wondered where they went. I'd love to hear how they're doing. Oh, and Happy Me also, from the Century Club. So many people back then that I miss .... Lo, Mangum, BobnAtlanta, the "original" Tooter (no offense to the "current" Tooter! ) ... gosh, it's sad thinking of all those who have left over the years.

I mainly hung around in the Century Club back then and don't remember exactly when Kimmer appeared on the scene. But once she "settled in", it was hard to ignore her!

ETA: Yep, I was wrong about another Tooter. I was thinking of TOOTIE in the Century Club. Silly me.

-Kimmer came to LCF in Nov. 2000 : according to her date under her avatar
"Join date" Ask Kimmer!

-She started her Fitday in Dec 05 2000- That is her earliest entry in fitday and fitday didn't come out until nov 2000 so that sounds correct
FitDay.com - Diet and Fitness journal for Kimmer

-Her story was that she lost the weight during 2001 while here at LCF-
Her weight according to her fit day was really telling that she was trying to set up a situation to where it appeared she lost a lot of weight fast
Dec 00 and Jan 01- She has fitday showing highest wt. of 290 lbs in Dec 2000 BUT then it shows 160 lbs in 1-01 which would be impossible
FitDay.com - Diet and Fitness journal for Kimmer

8-07-2001 -Then fitday where she tried to set-up her weight loss on fitday it shows her going from around 150 pounds on 8-7-01 to 240lbs on 8-8-01 then 138 lbs by the end of the year 12-01

Hard to say~ I know vodka looks like water ~ I was rereading my posts in that thread~ one was the fact that no fasting 'expert' (doctor or otherwise) recommends marathon fasting~ so her current opinion that 'fasting the weight off' or that you don't need to eat as long as there is still excess fat is really 180° from what we were discussing.

Also, I quoted an excerpt from Dr. Joel Fuhrman's book that clearly states
Quote:
(bolding mine)
Thus, the human organism responds to the fasting state by attempting to maximally conserve it's muscle and lean body tissue. With severely restrictive diets, like juice fasts, the body does lose weight, but the brain and other organs do not subsist mainly on ketones. Therefore, proportionally to weight loss, juice fasts and severely restrictive diets cause us to lose more lean body tissue and less fatty tissue than do total fasts.
So she should have known that her VLCD was/is dangerous.

JustKim, I doubt she will ever use the article you posted here. It specifically tells why your qualifications are valid and how to avoid using bad personal trainers. She is planning to hire someone and doesn't want people to question their qualifications. So don't expect to see your article published in her newsletters.

Maybe it's just my 46 year old brain, but I distinctly remember a Tooter in the Century Club back in 1999-2001, somewhere in there. She lived in Pennsylvania, had some grown sons, loved lobster slathered in butter.

Ahhh ..... it is my brain. She was TOOTIE. Okay, so the mind's goin', what can I say? heh heh heh

In response to the post above me saying vlcd's eat muscle and brain tissue and what not I belive kimmer said that the process only happens in the first week or two then it just eats fats, I mean normally I would take every word that kimmer sais with a grain of salt but for a morbidly obese woman to be giving some sort of successful diet advice when she herself doesn't follow it or know what works thru trial and error she must be getting her facts from some reputable source. Not only that but it has been said many a time that very obese patients are put on vlcd's to take weight off quickly because a few side effects are more healthy than what they are dealing with currently (being so obese) so in that case I am for vlcd's if you really need them.

Patients (keyword) that are put on vLDCs are done so when life-threatening complications are present. These diets CAN be used successfully when done under the careful, constant supervision of doctors, and many times done under INPATIENT care as well, NOT by some random obese woman on the internet who has not lost any weight.

They are too dangerous to play around with.

Go to The Journey and watch Christin's video.

Another new post at KK:

How's Tippy going to answer this one??

"I'm confused.... 4 Minutes ago
I guess I am confused...when I first joined Kimkins, I kept hearing that a maintenance plan was coming out soon. Now the only maintenance plan I see is to use some other plan (South Beach, Atkins, etc) when you get to goal? Is there no Kimkins Maintenance plan coming out ever? I had never heard that Kimkins was only for short tem use until recently, so I assumed by the time I got to Maintenance there would be a Kimkins plan for that. I'm also confused about all the 'cycling talk' I'm reading on forum after forum and even as advice from Admins. Again- when I first joined, I read over and over "if you tweak it even a little, it isn't Kimkins". So now I am confused- what has changed in both of these issues (Maintenance and cycling/tweaking). I would greatly appreciate some clarification so I can continue to do this WOE correctly."

Someone over "there" has been frantically posting this in every thread they can find.

Others are bickering, and this response, just pretty much sums it all up.

"What part of 'Don't tell me what to watch or read' did you NOT understand?

Ah, heart valves, schmart valves, who gives a crap. As long as my jeans fit.

Another goodbye!

Put a fork in me....I'm done! 0 Minutes ago

"Hi Kimkins Community

I've really thought long and hard about this. I feel that I've made every attempt to "get over" all this drama and move forward.

First, I want to thank you all the lovely wonderful folks who have given me support on this journey. I've learned so much this summer and I've grown and healed. I did the work with the loving, kind support of many of you.
I'm sad to leave, but I can not be apart of something that is, in my opinion, becoming manipulative and negative. (the deleting of journals and posts and now PMs, is wrong in my mind. The PUBLIC banning of people is embarrassing to me)

I started the Laugh Away the Pounds Challenge as a way to fip the switch in my mind and focus on the positive. I hope it will continue on this site for those who are chosing to stay. Out of respect to my fellow comdieans in that challenge, I didn't want to post my goodbye there. I hope you will all see this and know that I love you.

I will be around the net...please look for me, say "hi" and I'll have a hug for you!

I wish you all well with your journey. Thank you again for being apart of my journey."
