Taking a break

Hey while I am at it (and I have way exceeded my post allotment for the day!)
I'll beat her to the punch - apologize in advance - not my best work! Thinking of working with a personal trainer? Here are some things to think about. First of all, I am not a personal trainer, I am a certified ATHLETIC trainer which means I specialize in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. For more information on athletic training, check out the National Athletic Trainer’s Association at The National Athletic Trainers' Association. Whether you are an exercise newbie just starting out, or a seasoned exercise junkie looking to shake up your routine, sometimes a few sessions with a personal trainer may be of benefit. Like everything else, there are good and bad so here are some things to look for. 1. Education Education Education • Look for a personal trainer with an education background in areas like exercise physiology, kinesiology, etc. With these fields they should have the academic background to understand how the body works the way it does and how to use exercise to affect change. 2. Certification • Personal training is not a regulated field. This means that anyone can literally call themselves a personal trainer. Look for individuals that have actually taken courses and are certified to practice as personal trainers. Keep in mind, if you Google “personal trainer certification” you’ll find pages worth of “weekend course” and “$49.99 and you can be a personal trainer” options. Two of the highest regarded certifications are through ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) and NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) with the CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) from the NSCA as the “Gold” standard. 3. References • It is not an insult to ask for references! Check with people the personal trainer has worked with and see if they are happy with the results. Was the person easy to work with? Did they provide a challenge? 4. Personal Meeting/Session • Meet one on one with the prospective personal trainer and ask about his/her background. Ask about training philosophy. Ask about the training routine. You should feel very comfortable with this person. You are trusting this person with your body. You may not find the perfect personal trainer for you the first time around. Keep “shopping” (you ARE the consumer after all) until you do find one that you click with. As always, if you have any questions you can always look me up in the Work Out Zone!

Uhhh, Sorry Tippy but you can only call it if something is untrue. I think it has been proven that Kimmer/Heidi/Melt/BRad et.al is a fraud to say the very least. What you have done can be documeted as well so no slander there either. Now if you are mad and don't want to support Netrition fine, but don't say your reason is because of slander or UNAMERICAN behavior!!! How on earth did you come up with un-American? The greatest priveledge we have as Americans is to be a part of "Righting" "Wrongs". Promoting justice is the most American thing one can do!!! [quote] But I want the truth known so others can make their own choices too.[quote] IF that is true, and we know it is not, then why are you looking and sounding like the "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" poster gal? I'm sorry, but this board is the reason I am able to stick to plan as well. I have learned so much here that is invaluable. Oh BTW: I keep tellin you I AM DUCKY!!!!

This is a little OT but I am on Tom Venuto's email list and he has a great article about weight loss and the difference in losing Muscle and Fat with very low calorie diets and Fatter vrs lean dieters.

Hey Have I told you lately that I love you Awesome!!! Did you see my edit on the last page btw? I'm serious, might be a good idea to contact Regandy and have her dole out that 500 bucks she still owes heidi to help fight the cause. Again that would be poetic justice.OT: My boss is now doing this diet (Atkins 72) and WILL NOT leave me alone so I can't keep up on the posts. Man I'm done telling people what type of diet I do until this is over. I just don't have the time hahhaha ![]()

IF my memory serves me correctly (big IF there..lol) Kimmer was here before the board reformat in '02. A lot of our accounts were completely lost then, and we had to re-register. All of my posts from before June of '02 were lost (I registered in 1999) nevah to be seen again. Trying to find Kimmers original posts from this site is probably a dead end. ![]() |

I'm going out of town and need to get back to badly neglected duties myself but whoever can try get word out. Thank you for this info, again!! |

It was sooooo long ago, but I remember heidikin was insensitive to some issues that very overweight people face on a daily basis.....feeling were hurt and it got a bit heated....... then poof.
Right after that I joined the escribe forum and mostly just lurked on this site. I had a couple of run ins with her myself, heidikin is the main reason I decided to join another forum. ![]() |

You know I love ya, girl, right? However, it is nota good idea for Regandy to do anything with that money other than pay it back or put it in escrow. Giving it to Kim or using it to help fight the cause will cause trouble than it's worth. |

For anyone interested in finding more LFC 'Heidi-isms' here is a thread that won't appear with a Kimmer search~
30 DAY DETOX CHALLENGE The challenge was Kimmer's, the first post is hers~ I don't know why her I.D. was removed, but if you read the posts, you'll know it's Kimmer~ ETA~ Wow reading my posts on that thread, Kimmer sure had a lot of questions~ wonder how she got it so muddled up?~~~N Last edited by Nady : 09-28-2007 at 10:36 AM. |

![]() Crystal water turns to dark Where ere it's presence leaves it's mark And boiling currents pound like drums When something wicked this way comes... A presence dark invades the fair And gives the horses ample scare Chaos rains and panic fills the air When something wicked this way comes... Ill winds mark it's fearsome flight, And autumn branches creak with fright. The landscape turns to ashen crumbs, When something wicked this way comes...
