Yes, this is what I was trying to get across earlier. Thanks Kat. The diet Dr. Pescatore reviewed was not what was being recommended on the forums. Many people commented that it was way more food than they were eating. I have to wonder what he would think about the fitdays of many kk members.

Lots 'o questions....

I am not sure. A while back all the tv shows were focused on the Pro-Ana websites. I saw it on Oprah and somewhere else maybe Dateline or 20/20. Anyway, They work all day every day closing down these sites just to have another one pop up. Going to google...
I'm just not following anything right now. I eat whatever..I have my Mother dying and I spend most of the day at the rest home and on the way home I grab something and that is it for the day. When things calm down, I will get on Atkins again.

I know I need to eat more and as I have already blown my matabolism on KK, I am not real hungry anyway. I will work on it soon. I still have some (just slight, mind you) problems with eating a lot. Sure wish I had that problem 30 years ago, maybe I wouldn't be overweight, lol.

Right now my therapy is getting that site shut down and maybe saving someone else from going through what I and others have gone through!

Wheh! Talk about delusional. I wondered about her family saying she was on disability with mental illness and didn't quite believe it but now...I believe already!

Guess disability people may have a problem with the millions she made scamming us. I don't understand admins working (slaving in some cases) for her for peanuts and she was raking it in...
I know that I have a problem with it, being on disability, myself. You can't legally make over a certain amount of money per month on disability. I hope she gets her disability benefits pulled, along with everything else.

Aren't these great? Two of the gals posting in the anti-Melt thread have these posted...

Vanilla Sky's Siggy:

"She had me fooled, too.

But dont be afraid of her or of the truth: do your OWN research and make your OWN decision.

Read THIS.

Then read Beckys Blog.

Read The Truth.

Read about low fat diets.

Heres what I saw when I did:

1. She lies to us AND TO HER ADMINS regularly.

2. She cant produce evidence of her weight loss (the reason we all believed her) or of her claims about Kimkins. Her success NEVER happened.

3. She denies it, but this plan hurts people"

Song bird's Siggy:

"I am not a mean hater. I am a dieter, desperate to lose the weight, same as you. But I learned the hard way that while Kimkins works at first, the consequences of a very low calorie diet are awful. I can't eat without gaining, I've lost tons of hair, and I have heart palpitations. Please, please stop doing this diet."

From the Hamptons diet site

The Information below is excerpted from The Hamptons Diet book with permission from the publisher, John Wiley & Sons
The Hamptons Diet can be summed up in one key sentence: Eat more vegetables, fish, and omega-3 fatty acids and consume most of your fats in the form of monounsaturates. Of course the devil is in the details, and the Hamptons Diet will show you how to actually incorporate these principles into your life so that you get thin and healthy and most important have fun.

Fat Is Not a Bad Word

In 1994, Dr. Pescatore joined the practice of Robert Atkins, the late famous diet doctor. Dr. Atkins touted the message of “Eat all the fat you want. Fat will set you free. Fat doesn’t give you cholesterol, sugar does. Eat fat and get thin”—what a perfect message for an overweight person.

For now, the evidence clearly points to the proper fats one should eat. With up to 40 percent of all Americans choosing to watch their intake of carbohydrates, their diets will subsequently be higher in fats. People need to receive a clear message about which fats to eat and which to avoid. That message has been very understated until now. Since we all agree that there are healthful fats, which ones are they?

After years of research and experiece with Bob Atkins patients, Dr. Pescatore reached the conclusion that the “all-fat-is-good-for-you” message was incorrect. The Hamptons Diet from Dr. Pescatore focuses much more attention on the health benefits of some fats and the need to avoid certain other fats.

So, let fat back into your life and into your kitchen. Let’s try to make this word have a really good meaning: fat = thin = happy = healthy = longer life. Enjoy the book. Eat good fats. Get thin and healthy in the process—you can lose up to fourteen pounds in just two weeks!

And, I haven't seen this mentioned yet. But, there are organizations that keep track of the pro-anorexia sites that pop up. They immediately work to shut them down. I do believe that Kimkins encourages anorexic behavior so that may be the quickest route to closing down the site. Just a thought...

back to lurking....
I'd love to guide you but what I'm doing isn't any plan and probably not the best way to go of it if you're wanting to stay low carb. I will go back to low carb eventually but I'm sticking to this for now until I find out from my tests what may be going on and why my hair is falling out so badly. I'm eating whole foods, staying away from processed food, eating fruit, yogurt, protein, veggies. I upped everything ... carbs, calories(big time!), fats. I've been up and down with the same few pounds until the other day when I lost 2 and it stayed off. Wish I could be of some help but there are a lot of people here who will be able to guide you to the information you need.
What is the site you're talking about? Do you have a link?

Here it is! Simple as can be:

Keep your overall goals in mind when choosing a diet program for the non-Kimkins weeks so you don't undo your progress! We will refine the option for optimum results from member feedback.

Did the diet change? When did this happen? I'm so lost here. HELP!!!!!

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on the fitdays. When I was there and posting to fitday, we had 2 accounts, one for the "outsiders" to post and pick apart and a real one that we just emailed the link to our friends if we wanted feedback. Sometimes we went back and changed them, just for the shock value, 'cause our posts & fitdays were showing up all over the net. I still have 2 accounts with fitday.
