Because if I had read all the happenings today as a newbie I wouldn't be posting a comment asking about carb counts for fear of getting flamed or banned or told off by some JC slur.
Maybe saying "Kaiser" is not a big deal but to me it seemed like more information then I would give when asking an innocent question. I would just say during a nutrition class or whatever. I am probably just being a cynic but I do know that someone close to Kimmer also is working at Kaiser too so it jumped out at me......or maybe I am just tired and need to give up.

I am another ex-Kimkinite........I was banned on Sep. 19th....I have been lurking on your thread since Jimmy Moore left kimkins.... so I owe it to all of you guys, and Jimmy, for enabling me to see the light. I posted my good-bye to my challenge group friends last Tuesday. I waited until the members of my challenge had read my post, and then PM'ed Kimmer asking for a refund based on fraudulent advertising. I was BANNED immediately. And Kimmer never responded to my refund request. I also submitted a ticket asking for a refund....no response.

Anyways thank you all for helping me to realize what a fraud Kimmer is and how dangerous her diet is. I am thankful I am no longer there.......it got to the point that I felt dirty just signing onto her website. And to my great relief, my once large challenge thread has shrunk dramatically, as one of our revered members also left around the same time as me, and took a bunch of people with her.

(BTW, For those of you still registered that want to leave in a blaze of glory and warn other kimkins members about the diet and Heidi Diaz, take it from me, the most effective way to do so is on journals, challenge forums, etc. They don't get noticed by the admins if they are buried in other threads instead of being posted as new topics. The admins must not have time to read all the threads.......when I left I knew of at least 3 posts that had been up for a long time, talking about Heidi's fraud and the dangers of the diets. And no, I'm not worried about posting that here, cuz there's no way they can read through all the threads!)

My dear friends,

This is Farewell for me…………I will not be posting on the kimkins website anymore. I cannot in good conscience belong to this site anymore. I have been reading other websites although I have NEVER posted on another site, nor given communications from this site to ANYONE. I am not a mole. And how sad it is that I feel I have to say that! I have just become increasingly disillusioned with kimkins……..and it has affected my weight loss, so I feel I need to end this chapter and start anew, on more of an atkins diet.

Having read whats out there, I am 99.99% positive that those pictures of the extremely overweight woman are of Kimmer. Kimmer IS Heidi Diaz, and its laughable to claim they are 2 different people. Many of you say you do not care how heavy Kimmer is. But I ask you this: do you care that you’ve been lied to? Do you care that she is dishonest? How can you trust anything she says, after this? I have many health concerns about this diet. Kimmer says there is not a “starvation mode”, that people’s metabolisms will NOT be shot after following an extreme low-calorie diet. Many other people say otherwise. AND SINCE KIMMER IS SO OBESE, I WORRY THAT SHE SHOT HER OWN METABOLISM AND WAS UNABLE TO KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF. For those of you staying on kimkins, since I care so much for you, please, please, be pro-active in your own healthcare. Do not trust Kimmer. Do not trust your own doctor, who probably never in his/her life took a medical course on safe weight loss. Read, read, read. And make your own decisions. Gall bladder. I PM’ed Kimmer early on and asked her about gall bladders…….she told me “low-fat doesn’t cause gall bladder problems.”…….umm, that’s not what I’ve been reading elsewhere. I can’t trust anything she says now. Thyroid problems from a very low-cal diet? Those are permanent. Hair loss? WHY IS KIMMER BALD?? I would like to know the answer to that question, and yes I think it is relevant. Kimkins dieting causing eating disorders? I ask all of you to watch yourselves and make sure that you are not being overly obsessive about what you eat. “How low can you go.” That is NOT healthy!!!!

People are being “banned” left and right for seemingly minor infractions………posts are being rapidly deleted and journals are being “sanitized.” This is not what I signed up for.

XXXXX, the last straw for me is that “WWWWW” HAS BEEN BANNED! Can you believe that?? She posted an almost-suicidal, despairing note, XXXXX and others wrote her back full of love and support, and SHE WAS BANNED. That broke my heart…….how cruel and selfish are these people!! She doesn’t know why she was banned. Is the thread even still there? I can’t remember where it was.

This post will probably be deleted soon……..I will email this post to all of you whom I have email addresses for…..I do not want you to think I just disappeared one day without a trace…..then, I will not bother you again. To all my dear, dear, dear friends: Good Luck on your weight loss journeys. I KNOW we will all reach goal. Take care of yourselves, and above all, stay healthy. This is not a race. Regardless of what you maintain publicly, you know as well as I do that that claim is false and would be proved so in a court of law.
If you refuse to give me a refund, I will start by filing a complaint with Paypal, and the BBB, referring to the fraud that you are perpetrating.
Furthermore, if you REFUSE to refund my money, I insist that you DO NOT BAN me and that you continue to allow me FULL ACCESS to the site, including ALL FORUMS. Asking for a refund is no reason to ban me, and you have not heard the last of me if you do chose to ban me without a refund. I have contacted tech support 3 or 4 times now. I started within the hour of getting banned. I also have emailed Kimmer 4 times now. I have gotten no where.
I was banned for posting to JenniferB a member who was very upset about everyone leaving. I am not sure if you know all about that but it was in no way a violation of TOS.

Edited- I see now in your other post that you do know about that thread...Jennifer and I got banned immediately?????

TO lcf kelly. I am so glad you saw her for the fraud she is. And hopefully some of your friends from kimkins will soon follow. You will find lcf has some nice people and some very supportive ones. No one here will diss you because you arent losing fast and beacuse you may have had a slip . We have all been there and done that. ATKINS does work! When I did atkins by the book and even with some slips along the way I never lost any hair, as a matter of fact my hair became healthier and my nails did too, no starvation, no laxatives, just some good eating LOL!. You will find some very good low carb recipes on the recipe site, and some good support threads, after all we are all in this to lift each other not put each other down like on the other site the KIMPIRE. Well enough of my babbling, I just wanted to let you know that you are welcome here and we are here to help any time you need it. I am no expert on nutrition and I will be the first to admit I have gained quiet a bit of the 118 I lost back, its not atkins fault tho its my own. BUT IT STLL WORKS!

I just looked at the Kimkins homepage (can't sign in, though) and was surpised to see so many partner sites still listed. I was especially disappointed to see LA Weight Loss, since they're a big name. BUT, look at the message I got when I clicked on their link:

"The link is not currently active.

There are a number of reasons that you may have received this message. The most common is that the merchant who was advertising is temporarily not-actively promoting that program. If, however, you feel you have reached this page in error, please let us know."

Maybe the word is getting out beyond the LC community! Maybe the letters are working! We can hope...

I have a question. Has Tippy been a member of the Kimkins forum since the beginning? and did she always recommend cycling, or is this a new thing since she became an admin?

Does anyone remember Tippy recommending cycling as alternative to cutting calories - as a way to get out of stalls? at the beginning of kimkins?

i do think she did all of that to let off some steam yes, but mainly to set up an extreme situation that would warrant an admin yanking the whole forum as the quickest way to "stop" it.

Have you read any of Dr. Atkins books?? He is so great at explaining everything! I couldn't do him justice if I tried LOL! I personally feel better having less carbs and feel much clearer mentally once I get over the sugar withdrawl.

Gosh, that just flies in the face of everything I've read lately about low carbing.

I just read Atkins not long ago for the first time. Dr. Barry Groves and Protein Power are all good resources, and they all say that very few carbs are actually needed by the body. Research has shown that fat (yep, no kidding) is the preferred energy source for the heart. Even on maintenance, many people do just fine for years on 60-70 carbs per day. Low carb really can be a way of life.

I'm just learning about the carb ladder, which means after you're done losing your weight, to get to a personal maintenance carb level, you can add back 10 carbs per week (something like that) until you gain a bit. Adjust it back to where you are maintaining, and that is supposed to be the optimum carb level for your body and lifestyle. I may not have explained it well, but I think that's close.

Whoever told you that about starches must hang out in the Dean Ornish camp

I know it's all confusing at first (shoot when I first started Kimkins, I knew nothing about low carb WOE) but you might want to get a copy of at least Atkins and start there.

I quote your home page: "It's called Kimkins and was developed by me, Kimmer, in 2000 when I weighed a morbidly obese 318 pounds! In less than a year I lost 198 pounds and kept it off!" Regardless of what you maintain publicly, you know as well as I do that that claim is false and would be proved so in a court of law. If you refuse to give me a refund, I will start by filing a complaint with Paypal, and the BBB, referring to the fraud that you are perpetrating. Furthermore, if you REFUSE to refund my money, I insist that you DO NOT BAN me and that you continue to allow me FULL ACCESS to the site, including ALL FORUMS. Asking for a refund is no reason to ban me, and you have not heard the last of me if you do chose to ban me without a refund. Again, If it comes to that, I will start by filing a complaint with Paypal and the BBB, again referring to the fraud you are perpetrating.

And hopefully some of your friends from kimkins will soon follow. You will find lcf has some nice people and some very supportive ones. No one here will diss you because you arent losing fast and beacuse you may have had a slip . We have all been there and done that. ATKINS does work! When I did atkins by the book and even with some slips along the way I never lost any hair, as a matter of fact my hair became healthier and my nails did too, no starvation, no laxatives, just some good eating LOL!. You will find some very good low carb recipes on the recipe site, and some good support threads, after all we are all in this to lift each other not put each other down like on the other site the KIMPIRE. Well enough of my babbling, I just wanted to let you know that you are welcome here and we are here to help any time you need it. I am no expert on nutrition and I will be the first to admit I have gained quiet a bit of the 118 I lost back, its not atkins fault tho its my own. BUT IT STLL WORKS! to you and all the ex kiminites.

I was especially disappointed to see LA Weight Loss, since they're a big name. BUT, look at the message I got when I clicked on their link: "The link is not currently active. There are a number of reasons that you may have received this message. The most common is that the merchant who was advertising is temporarily not-actively promoting that program. If, however, you feel you have reached this page in error, please let us know." Maybe the word is getting out beyond the LC community! Maybe the letters are working! We can hope...

'cause i think she regrets ever opening up the "kimkins chatter" forum and "inviting" any dissension.
