Mary McD - the Duck avatars were chosen because Kimmer was parinoid (sp) because one of her members was using a Duck avatar - so a bunch of us chose to show our solidarity by also having one. The various ducks are amazing, and funny! Welcome!!!

I am glad you posted this Dottie... I wanted to post soon after you but I had Presley in the Vets office as they were taking the rod out of his leg.... I have been very disappointed and deeply hurt over whats been happening. I know I have been in the rumor mill off and on for a long time. I think it is very hurtful and a terrible thing to spread gossip around. I can't tell you and everyone (well.. Dottie.. you know) how many times I have cried in front of my computer at the things being said about me and all us admins. I know Dottie personally and she is a very sweet and lovely lady and would never do anything to hurt others. I love everyone here and I try my best to help others and be a good admin... Maybe people forget that we are real people so they feel that posting bad things about us isn't real either or doesn't matter because they can't see the hurt in our eyes.... But it hurts pretty badly. Spreading rumors is like playing that post office game where you whisper something in each others ear... it starts as a little thing and by the time it goes around the room it is something that is completely untrue and very inflated. I just hope people remember that before the pass it on. I can't tell you all how this just breaks my heart.

Hah! I listened to that book on tape last weekend on a trip. It contains lots of information and diet history and science that I found fascinating.

Warning, it ends on a depressing note. Mainly her conclusions are, don't gain the weight to begin with because you will likely not be able to ever lose it all again ("most people"), and science is still working on why people gain weight.

I loved the book until the last 15 minutes

But, still, I do recommend it. I learned a lot!

Back on topic: are there still some folks in here reading this thread with access to Kimkins forum? I'm about ready to go out in a blaze of glory over there, I can hardly stomach the nastiness and drivel I see when I go in. But if there aren't many left and if it's worthwhile, I'll suck it up and wait.

That's what I think....with the thread continuing and more and more information coming out, they can't control the dam that's about to break on them! *If only* they could convince the admins here to lock it all down, it would slow the flow of information going out to the masses.
