Why the fascination with Kimmer? #2

You know if "Kimmer" wasn't Heidi Diaz, wouldn't it have made sense for her to fire her from her staff since she's drawing all sorts of controversy and legal troubles towards her empire? I mean honestly, why would anyone keep someone like that in their employ? Out of the goodness of her heart? Um...no, since "Kimmer" has already said she's not a mushy, hand holding sentimental person. For those who sincerely believe that Kimmer isn't Heidi, explain why Heidi hasn't been fired? I mean, Kimmer fired Christin, her most visible poster child for questioning her but she'd keep a liability like Heidi around? C'mon, people! If you had a multi-million dollar company and it could all be in jeopardy due to one person and that person wasn't you, wouldn't you get rid of them as soon as possible? If everyone was questioning who you were and you had nothing to hide, wouldn't you do a press conference and put this all to bed? This is your livelihood at stake, wouldn't a rational person take reasonable measures to defend it personally instead of sending out their minions to do it for them?

How can any logical thinking person believe for even a second that "Kimmer" and Heidi Diaz are not one and the same?

I don't care if Kimmer is a fraud, or the pics are fake, or whatever else. I didn't pay money to "get to know Kimmer." Yeah, I like to know more about the people who start programs, their history, but if they don't want to share it (or even lie to me), what difference does it make in the end if I'm still losing weight?

As we all know, Heidi had her stomach stapled some years ago, but because she is a graze-all-day type, she never lost very much weight from it.

Also, we have further confirmation that its Heidi Diaz talking in the Kimmer interview with Jimmy Moore.

Oh girl, see what you can find out. I work disability insurance and I can tell you right now that there is a Long Term Term Disability insurance carrier out there right now that would be VERY interested in her new sources of income. Not to mention what SSDI would do to her.

Singinglass seriously needs to slip herself away quietly into the night never to be heard from again on any diet message boards. She has absolutely no qualifications to be attempting to coach anyone on a diet.

Nevertheless, some of the poster's advice was good. Not the bit about a low-carb, low-fat, low-calories being safe; it isn't. But the bit about if you're going to do one, you really should supplement omega-3s.

I've posted that myself a number of times. I'm married to a programmer, not a doctor, but used to be a biochemist myself. And frankly, you don't need any kind of credentials to find this out... just Google about "essential fatty acids" which are called that because they are ESSENTIAL. Your body can't make them, you must get them from diet.

There is no such thing as a minimum amount of carb you need, your body can convert protein and even fat to some degree to produce blood glucose for the minimal needs for glucose that it has. It will burn ketones for most energy needs, but does have a need for a tiny amount of glucose - not that glucose is essential, because it's not. Your body makes it.

But you do need enough protein (higher than the RDA when low-carbing because your body is using it for energy as well as protein) and you do need fats. There are "essential amino acids" and "essential fatty acids" and these are from protein and fats, respectively.

Not that I'd recommend a low-carb, low-calorie, low-fat diet, but if someone is doing one, they most definitely need to be taking fish oil capsules unless they're eating a diet where a large proportion of their "lean protein" comes from oily fish.

Potassium can be an issue on nearly any low-carb diet also. Easy enough to "fix" that by switching your regular salt for Lite Salt though.

Screwing up your setpoint is another issue entirely, but supplementing fish oil and making sure you get enough potassium are likely to minimize the damage of this type of diet.

I will be leaving Kimkins as an admin and as a participant. I will miss so many of you! You have been wonderful. I just can't continue to support something that I have doubts about. And ti's not just about the founder (although that is part of it). It is about the diet itself. I don't think it is safe. I think it could cause irreparable harm. It is along the lines of anorexia, in my opinion. And I will admit that I have a form of an ed, I am a binge and emotional eater. But does it really make sense to swap one for the other? I don't think so. And I think that is what I would be doing.

I, like many of you, thought I had found the thing that would save my life. I thought I would finally be skinny. I didn't care what people said about Kimmer or the site. I honestly thought they were mean and jealous. Well, I have come to the conclusion that it was the exact opposite. They are caring and want to stop people from hurting themselves. They are not a bunch of fat people sitting around who are jealous of other's weight loss.

I just can't overlook all the so-called pictures of Kimmer. And I'll admit that my avi is a stock photo. But I have never claimed it was me, and I think it is obvious that it is not. But if I had created a diet, I wouldn't be hiding.

Anyway, please do research on starvation mode. Yes, Kimmer, it does exist. Please research vitamin defficiency and VLCDs.

I also want to say that I will miss the admins. I really, truly believe they are doing what they think is right. I think most, if not all, of them really care about helping the members. That's what I wanted to do. I am sure they will all hate me now, and I'm sorry for that.

The final straw came this morning when I realied the Private Forums had been deletedm and after reading posts on the e-book. I think it was an attempt to cover her you-know-what, because some members were promised an e-book. And she didn't even bother to send it out to the people who weren't promised it when they signed up (like me).

I could go on and on, but I am sure most of you have heard it before.

Please don't be blind. Please don't write that this diet has worked for you, so nothing else matters. It does matter. You have to think about your long-term health and well-being. Even Kimmer admits her thyroid is trashed. Why do you think that is? My guess is it has to do with constant yo-yo dieting. And if the founder of the diet can't maintain her weight loss then we don't have much hope. I know some of you will be successful and keep it off, I just hope you return to a healthy woe.
