After I lost all of my weight (on Atkins eating a good amt of calories and carbs-- NEVER below 1200 cals and rarely below 30 carbs), my hair was very thin and stringy. I also had thyroid removal in 2002 prior to starting LC. In 2004 I quit relaxing my hair and shaved it all down like a boy. I love the cut SO MUCH that I keep it. I get it shaved down once a month. But you can take Biotin 5000mcg and it has thickened my hair ALOT! There are biotin threads on here, one that cheri started too. But you should get the 5000mcg dose.

She can change her TOS all she wants but it doesn't change the fact that the previous members agreed to her original TOS which was totally different than the one she has up now. She is still responsible for members who agreed to a much more liberal TOS IMHO. |

I am really hoping it is not considered 'making fun' of Heidi being fat by saying:
I find it ironic how she used to DOG people out for liking Atkins and their 'greasy cheeseburgers', and tell them 'fine, stay fat', when she herself is heavy. That isn't making fun, it is stating what is so IRONIC about the whole freakin thing. How dare she tell somebody 'fine stay fat' when she is herself and can't stick to her own starvation plan! I feel sorry for the chick honestly. She is apparently one miserable soul. So hopefully we can still express our anger and frustration about her dogging out Fatkins and the fatties who do Atkins and eat greazy cheeseburgers, given her own situation. Please. How many people has she ticked off with that?? A ton. |

Tired of Lurking...and if you are wondering, yes, I am the katinsac that Becky (littlebit) referes to in her blog.
I posted the same pictures that appear here in a thread on the snatty site about 3 weeks after starting the K/E plan. It was a very innocent question by a group of us ladies who had bonded on a thread and were just wondering of the lady in the red dress was the same as we could not tell and we wanted to know who it was we were following advice from. No, we were not banned (and up until now, still not banned). It was right after Kiki and Cutie were banned for their same comments (however, I believe they made them privately...could be wrong). I think the reason we were not banned was that Becky wanted to apologize for her comments she made in the thread. So Kimmer just moved our thread and sent us some nasty e-mails where we knew she had been reading our PMs. At first we had no clue there were other sites where this was being questioned. Well, we soon found out and I have kept up on this and read every comment from the beginning. We immediatly exchanged our e-mails and moved to another site where we chould communicate without the threat of being questioned and our PMs being read. I myself had little problems with the plan but I did tweek it with more fat so that is probably why. I had done Atkins years ago and knew it worked for me. I never could get my fat below 40-50%. Therefore, I really did not do Kimkins. I did get my calories down to 100 one day and a lot of the time 300. I realized real soon there was something wrong with this. Yes, I wasn't hungry and it was great. But....I knew that that was too low. I started to "try" to add cals and fat to up them. It was very difficult. The no hunger and only eat when you were hungry was very nice. I did gain a few pounds at first and it took about 2-3 weeks to start losing it again. One of our ladies got really sick. Maybe some day she will come tell everyone. WE have all moved on to other ways of losing our weight that works for us. We are not losing fast but we are losing and we are healthier. We were the lucky ones. We realized right away that something was not right in Denmark! I feel for those who are still supporting that WOE. Yes, starvation works. Yes, you will lose your weight fast. No, you will not be healthy in the long run. Please, get out while you can. No one should have to watch their P's & Q's just to lose weight. We loved the threads and the people too. There are other sites were you can bond again. We did, you can too. Sorry this is so long.

I have to say, as someone who was also frustrated and suspicious about Kimmer, it's satisfying to have your suspicions confirmed. That doesn't often happen in real life. I am sad, however, that she was able to convince people to follow her plan based on deceit and that people have gotten hurt. I truly hope she is made to answer for her actions in court.

Unfortunately, the message is out there that being fat is inherently dangerous. People like Heidi use that message to justify unhealthy practices and sell their scams. I think that Tooter said it best - "It's a journey to health, not a race to be thin." A corollary to this is that health comes in many different shapes and sizes, not just an unrealistic cultural ideal. |

. I'm having the same issue. I also was thinking about cutting my hair yesterday as I took my kids for haircuts. Instead I bought some Nioxin to add to what I'm already doing. My hair is rather long but underneath, I have little patches of bald spots. It's horrifying. |

Thanks, girls.
I bought the kind for noticeably thinning hair. They were looking at me funny at the salon but they have no idea how my hair was before or what was hiding under the low ponytail. So with the Nioxin, I'm also using a biotin shampoo (which I use before the Nioxin), taking Omega 3-6-9 (3x daily) and 5mg of biotin (2x daily) ... and a mutlivitamin that also has biotin in it. that it works fast! I was so disgusted last night after washing my hair. I lost a bunch in the shower and then after coming it through, the sink is full of hair. I saved it to show my husband. I lost hair with Atkins, but not like this. I never restricted my calories with Atkins so this, it's just a nightmare.
