Weekends

How does everyone stick to plan on weekends??? I find it so much harder than during the week.

During the week it's easy - I eat breakfast early, take a small salad with tuna or chicken to work for lunch and then come home and make dinner.

On the weekend, there's no set schedule for eating (and the fridge is right there all the time calling to me). I open it many times during the day, but most of the time I don't eat anything. Anyone else have the same problem?

I agree with you, weekends are quite a challenge.
During the week, chicken on greens, or bbq hamburger with veggies on the side.
but the weekend.....oh
When is hot like now, beer, ice cream.
Going to church functions or friends home for an evening.

I can be so good during the week, say no to every desert offered.
I really struggle when my husband is home (he is out of town for the next few weeks)
My husband is of the mind "just one bite will not hurt you", or "you didn't eat that much"!
He just doesn't get the whole thing.

I find it helps to have sugar free jello in the house, and lots of protein
in the fridge. Also if you can drink crystal lite, it helps too.

Not a lot of substitutes for beer. There are low carb beers, but I still have to make up lots of ground if I choose to drink one.

They say if something is worth having it is worth working for. This woe is difficult at times but worth it.

I hear you loud and clear! Just think how it is for me...I work from home! That is extremely hard! Just try to keep yourself distracted and doing fun stuff! I was so used to making a huge yummy dinner and basing my day around this because it was my release from the stressful day. My huge homemade dinner was what I looked forward to all day.

So now I just think, Okay, what would I be doing on a normal day if I weren't eating?

Reading a magazine

Scrapbooking

Shopping

Taking a walk

Making To-Do lists

Cleaning

Watching the TV

Going on Low Carb Forums

Think of it like that! Just stay busy...hope this helps

Why not keep your schedule you follow M-F? prepare the salad just like you would if you were at work. Prepare the dinner just like you do during the week. The thing for me is to have foods readily available if I want a snack. Hard boil some eggs, make up some sf jello, keep some grilled chicken breast in a Tupperware, that sort of thing. I agree with Erin, stay busy. I've cleaned out closets, reorganized things, done crossword puzzles, dove into reading more books, watched all kinds of movies, gone shopping just to get out of the house, take a walk, call a friend. Lots of things to do and better for you than eating just because you can

MAN! I could've started this topic myself!! Weekends are the worst for me!! This weekend my MIL brought over chocolate covered donuts from a local bakery!! I have incredible progress during the week and then set myself back on the weekend! I'm not going to flog myself over it though- I'm an adult and I choose what goes in my mouth. I just can't get discouraged when my weight loss slows down because I set myself up for that.

Its tough for me because where I live the thing to do is go out on the weekends. Dinner on Friday, dinner /drinks on Saturday and then festivals/brunch on Sunday. Sigh...I am saying no more and more but I hate missing out! I have no idea what to do when I get there though!

I am so glad I'm not the only one going through this. Just this weekend, a taste here and taste there added up to a 2 lb gain. I know this is temporary, but it was shocker to get on the scale this morning. I have vowed no cheats all week and hope I carry that over to next weekend!

I put off eating as long as possible, as it seems that once I start I get a little (very little now that I'm in Ketosis) hungrier throughout the day. If I start at 2:00pm and then dinner at 6:00-7:00pm, it seems I can have a light dinner and have a good day still. Or do things that keep you busy throughout the day.

I took one of my Before pictures and put it on the refrigerator! This is totally mental for me- I'm not craving carbs- I'm not even hungry! I'm just programmed to snack at home on the weekends!

It's like smoking- I go all day without smoking- I don't even bring them with me to work- and I'm fine. The minute I get home and sit down, I want one!!

Weekends for me can be hard for me too I love dine out on the weekends(especially when I don't have my kids) w/ my Mom. I did really good on Saturday before last. We went to Red lobster and I only ate my blackened tilapia. I was soooo proud of myself b/c I know it was hard though I was determined to stick with K/E. Well that didn't last long, I cheated the next day and next and the next...That Saturday was my 6th day on K/E and after cheating for a week today is my my 4th day.
