Grilled steak or seafood cooked in minimal fat. Filet mignon if they have it, but that can get expensive. A pork chop if it's a tenderloin. If it's a diner-like place, I'd order a breakfast - eggs and bacon, or eggs and ham.
Bring those foil packs of tuna and salmon with you when you travel. |

OK so we can have bacon (for some reason I thought this was a no no).
Ok - I'm cool with breakfast ... I can do eggs and ham, bacon... and black coffee (yuck - but can adjust). Ok thanks Pink... those ideas really helped. How about salads? Should I limit those? |

Well, bacon probably isn't "legal," but if they have turkey bacon you could get that. Most places probably don't, though. Pork bacon is only somewhat higher in fat and calories than turkey bacon (and tastes a lot better), but again it's not on the plan, so it's your decision to eat it or not. I used up my pork bacon the first week of K/E and it didn't stall me, but I've eaten lots of it in the past on M/E, so go figure!
![]() I'm doing K/E, so at the moment I'm not doing salads, but small salads with minimal dressing probably wouldn't set you back in the calories or fat department. It depends on your plan and how strict you want to get.

Also, any sort of chicken breast (not fried) would be good..When i go out I always try to order some sort of chicken breast or even a salad with some cut up chicken just make sure you put the dressing on the side and dip your fork in the dressing and then stab the salad

Again thanks Pink (good information)
Flagal: Yup... gotta remember to put dressing on the side. Does it matter what type of dressing - is one better than the other? Sorry , I have so many questions ... even after reading so many threads on this... |

I like Outback sirloin steaks. They are so yummy! DH and I usually have them on Friday nights. When doing K/E, I just have a steak. When I'm not, I have a steak and some brocolli.

I had this problem on Saturday..I traveled 3 hours to a ball game...and it is hard to find anything on Kimkins in a ball park! I took some tuna bowls for a snack on the bus and ordered a polish sausage (without the bread) when I got to the park. It was not my first choice but it was that or Pizza so I think I did ok.

It is something that you buy. They are actually called tuna cups and they are sold usually two to a pack by Chicken of the Sea.
They are fairly new on the market. What a life saver. They are also pre drained! |

Eating in a regular restaurant just order some grilled protein, veggies, hold the butter or salad w/ff dressing on the side for dipping. At fast food restaurants I get the grilled chicken breast, garden salad (no croutons) and use taco sauce(carry packets in my purse)/ff dressing (check the websites for nutritional data and then choose).

I think for the dressing on the salad if you can get by with just oil and vinegar then you will be good, but what I like to do is order ranch (get FF if they have it) and put that on the side and then put some vinegar on my salad and dip my fork in the dressing and then stab my salad..tastes great and I try to get as little dressing as possible.
