Advice/suggestins (sleeping)

Okay, I did okay on my first start of K/E. Of course, I need to restart (keep on trying, right?)

I did get into trace ketosis and I managed to lose 2.5 lbs in a few days, but oh my, was i tired, but yet still had trouble sleeping.

I am restarting today.

Is the tiredness just a phase until i get into 'true ketosis' ?

Does anyone have trouble sleeping? Will this pass?

Thanks for reading!

Yes I had trouble sleeping for about a week. Now I sleep like a baby...
It'll pass just be patient, without sleep I know it is hard. Your body is going through a lot and wants to fight you on it, so good start on 2.5 lbs. gone, drink some caffine in the morning if you want, then maybe some decaf green tea at night before bed, but just know that it will pass. I also took some ibuprofen, that always knocks me out, YOU CAN GET THROUGH IT, good luck.

I know I have had an excess of energy lately and had a ton of trouble falling asleep and staying asleep my Doctor told me to take some Valerian Root, but that was too strong for me, so she said to take some Melatonin which helped a lot falling and staying asleep! I would ask your doctor before taking these, but with the melatonin i always wake up feeling refreshed...HTH

I also use melatonin. There are no clinical studies to support its efficacy, but it works for me, and I'm averse to taking prescription sleeping pills. Agree with the others that the feeling will pass in many people, so hang in there.

Yoga or other mild stretching in the evening might also help. Or a brisk walk if that's a possibility from a safety standpoint.

I sleep very little, but still wake up refreshed. I never had this much engery until I started kimkins. Its like a natural energy drink, but no jitters.

PHEW!!!!!!!!!
I am glad to know this should pass .........I did not give it long enough.
I know when people really get going in ketosis they have boundless energy, so I can't wait for that.
I am going to pick up some melatonin tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be my 'official' restart (although i did not do too bad today), stocked up on Chicken Breasts.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Just reading this inspires me.
When I feel down the next couple days, I need to re-read this to keep me going!!!!!!!!

Bengal Cat-I am with you, the induction period was crazy. I was so tired, I was taking naps everyday for the first week. It eventually gave way to feeling not so tired anyway now my problem is I cheat and get sleepy I need to get it together! Take care and good luck with your weight loss journey
