Please Help - Calorie Confusion & Chaos

Hello LC Friends,

I keep reading that people on the Kimkins/KE program are keeping their calories between 500-600 per day. How do you keep them that low with eating hardboiled eggs and deviled eggs? I am strictly doing the eggs and meat (chicken, salmon & turkey ONLY) and my calorie intake ranges from 800-1500 per day sometimes. I am still losing weight and have already lost -24lbs since starting this healthy living program, but I know that I need to reduce my caloric intake. Here is one of my meal plans. This is on the high side but I wanted to list it because my caloric intake sometimes do get up to 1500 calories with only 19 carbs. I NEVER go over 20 carbs but my caloric intake pretty much average around 1000 per day. Please let me know where I should adjust my plan. I am open to all suggestions. I wish you all continued success with your healthy living.

Marilyn's typical meal plan:

Breakfast:
6oz Coffee with Cream - Cal:50, Fat:3, Carbs:7, Pro:0
2 Eggbeater Muffins - Cal:135, Fat:7, Carbs:2, Pro:17
7 Turkey Pepperonis - Cal:37, Fat:2, Carbs:0, Pro:4

Snack:
3 Deviled Eggs - Cal:338, Fat:27, Carbs:2, Pro:19

Lunch:
2 Eggbeater Muffins - Cal:135, Fat:7, Carbs:2, Pro:17
8 Turkey Pepperoni - Cal:43, Fat:2, Carbs:0, Pro:4

Snack:
3 Deviled Eggs - Cal:338, Fat:27, Carbs:2, Pro:19

Dinner:
1 Grilled Chicken Breast - Cal:120, Fat:7, Carbs:0, Pro:15
2 Eggbeater Muffins - Cal:135, Fat:7, Carbs:2, Pro:17

Dessert/Snack:
1 SF Jell-O Parfait - Cal:128 Fat:12, Carbs:2, Pro:4

My Totals: Cal:1459, Fat:101, Carbs:19, Pro:116

**This plan is higher than most days but sometimes I do get up to 1500 calories a day so I wanted to share it with you all in efforts of helping me know the error of my ways. Sometimes I will fluctuate with the eggbeater muffins and have a eggbeater omlette, just so that I don't get bored and some days I only have 2 or 3 deviled eggs**

If you are losing weight and have already lost 24 lbs, why do you need to reduce your calories? It is working for you as it is, right? I would hesitate to lower your calories to 500-600, but I am not doing Kimkins. JMO.

Good luck on your journey!

Sails, you are working out a lot. You don't need to reduce your calories because you are burning so many through exercise already!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! You've adapted the plan to fit your needs; we are all doing what works for us. My calories are also higher than 800 on some days because of my exercise. You are still on the right path because even at your calorie level, it is considered a calorie-restricted diet, and there are health benefits you get from that.

Keep up the great work! Your exercise regimen is very inspiring to me.

I agree 110% with Pink...if it ain't broke don't fix it!!! Especially since you are working out your body needs those calories for fuel...keep up the good work and don't worry about what other people are doing...you are doing wonderful!!

Do you know the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it?" - well IMO it applies here, you've lost 24-pounds (CONGRATULATIONS!) and are eating well, satisfied with your appetite control, and continuing to lose weight at a very respectable, steady rate. If I were you, I'd keep on keeping on!

Just for fun I plugged your numbers into a calculator and at your age and weight to lose 5 lbs a week you need to eat at most 1599 calories a day. So i would say you are right on target! KUTGW!!

If it's working - why mess with it..... You are doing awesome... Don't get sucked into that you only have to eat 400 calories to lose!!!! PLEASE

Keep it up...

You all are just GREAT!!!!!! You all are a wealth of information and have a special gift of sharing knowledge. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. I am so thrilled with all of the encouragement that I get from this board. I was very worried that I was doing something wrong. I do try to keep the calories down but I've just mainly been focusing on not going over that 20 carbs a day. Thank you for all of the kind words and great advice. As we all can relate too, losing weight is HARD work and I am just trying to stay focus and will continue to do what works for me.

Kate - thank you for the comment about my picture

I wish you all continued success with your healthy living.
