Newbie with a coffee question

Hi everyone,
I am a newbie starting day 5 with a loss of 7 pounds so far. I was wondering if I need to count the calories and carbs in my morning coffee? I use 1 T instant coffee and 1T splenda. I have been putting it as 10 calories and 3 carbs ( I found this online) Is this right to you guys? I know it can slow me down but I am using it to get me throught the morning ickies the first few days.
Thanks.
Ali

Hi Ali B,

I am also a newbie, but I count everything that I put in my mouth. I am also a coffee drinker and look forward daily to that freshly brewed coffee that my darling husband makes each morning. Where I use to drink 2 cups a day, I now only drink 6oz. I use splenda, FF/SF Creamer (only 1tbsp), sometimes half-n-half and I can't forget the SF davinci vanilla/carmel coffee syrup for a nice taste. So every day I know that 4 carbs is already gone because of the coffee before I even eat anything. I knew that coffee could be a staller so I just gave up the large amounts that I use to drink and have it now in moderation. So far it is working for me but you have to do what works for you. I truly wish you much success with your healthy living.

I dilute my cup of coffee...1/4 cup coffee, the rest hot water with two small creamers in them. They are the french vanilla sugar kind, but it sure beats what I used to drink (Starbucks anyone?!)!!! I plan to be off coffee by the end of 5 weeks. Each day I have less and less coffee..so I am less and less addicted to it.

P.S. My body does not like artificial sweeteners!

it's a YMMV thing, if your body can handle the coffee then you are fine, but IMHO yes you need to count the calories and carbs in your daily count, so you know if you are going over or not.
