Introduction
Hello!
![]() Just wanted to pop in and stop lurking. I was convinced to do Kimkins after reading of the success some people had on another LC board that I frequent. After doing research about it, it made sense to me so I decided to give it a shot. This is day 3 of K/E for me, and so far, I'm doing alright. Haven't allowed myself to step on the scale yet - am waiting until tomorrow morning. As I read the posts here I think that I may end up cycling like some of you do - Kimkins on the weekdays and Atkins on the weekends, just to shake it up. But, before that I fully intend to dedicate to K/E for 5 days and Kimkins for 2 weeks. Looking forward to reading all of your posts and progress! |

Thanks for the welcome sails and chelle!
I have great news to report! This morning I weighed myself after only 3 days of K/E and I've lost 5.2 pounds! That is truly amazing! I'm so excited and can "taste" the 100's again! I'm going to continue with K/E through tomorrow and then move to kimkins for about 10 days after that, and then re-evaluate my plan. So happy to be moving in a positive (well, technically negative) direction! |

![]() Sunflowers, I was as shocked as you when I started a couple of weeks ago. I'm down 13 pounds in 12 days and started the plan having less than 40# to lose. I thought it would come off a lot slower. I'm working out every day so maybe that is keeping the weight dropping. And I'm not cheating at all with junk food. Some days I add more fat, like avocado on my chicken breast, or regular bacon instead of ham for breakfast. But the numbers are still shocking. ![]() pink |

Thanks pink!
I'm on day 5 of K/E and will weigh myself again tomorrow morning. I've become a fanatical fitday user - - I NEVER kept a food journal before... just a running total in my head, so to speak. But when I started this, I found I had to use it or I'd be clueless as to how many grams of fat or protein I'd eaten in a day, let alone calories. I'm sure this is helping me make better choices.Need to get back to my exercise routine - with vacations practically the whole month of June, I'm off track again. But just found out my Y membership is still valid until December, so I'll be going there more. After today I'm moving on to Kimkins for a couple of weeks, then will probably cycle. DH is pretty impressed I've been sticking with this. But it hasn't been too hard. As long as there is "legal" food in the house, cooking some protein up (or heck, just opening a tuna cup) isn't too hard. And when I do get hungry, it's not the GET-OUTTA-MY-WAY-I'VE-GOT-TO-HAVE-FOOD-NOW kind of hunger. More like 'gee, I'm hungry, maybe I should eat something'. Boy is that nice - I don't know if I've ever felt that way about food before. Thanks for the encouragement everyone! |
