WHEY PROTEIN SHAKES

I was on Atkins Induction for 2 months and lost 23 pounds that way, but stalled for 3 weeks and have since been on K/E during the week and Kimkins on weekends and am losing again. I have another 13 pounds to lose. I do weight lifting with a personal trainer twice a week and about 3 hours of cardio a week. My trainer wants me to start using whey protein shakes and I was wondering if any of you have experience with whey protein shakes combined with heavy training while on K/E and Kimkins. How will it affect my weight loss? I'm so close to goal now, I really want to get there by the end of July. I was thinking of having lean meat and eggs for breakfast and lunch and then using the shake as a meal replacement after my workout for dinner. What do you think?

Hi Hanlie!

I have a friend who was working out lots and doins K/E and she motivated me back on the wagon too. Well, she was taking a whey protein shake with a TB of virgin coconut oil after her weight training sessions on top of everything else she ate in a day, and still lost just as much weight.

I've now added in protein shakes as an extra as well, as I'm working out almost every day, and I've lost 9lbs in 8 days, so I'm not too worried! Anyway, with doing weight training you may not see quick losses anyway, but you'll see fantastic inchloss results!

Hi Hanlie,

Congratulations on your success, it's great that you are almost at goal. I am a whey protein user, on the K/E program (only 3wks) and workout and do strength training. I use the GNC's Whey Protein powder and mix it in the blender with some ice cubes and soy milk. I sometimes put in some Davinci's SF carmel/vanilla syrup for a nice taste. I work out at the gym 5-6 days a week, which are mostly 1 hour aerobic classes. At the end of each class I do a 10 minute floor ab workout. In my aerobic interval class, we use various sized weights throughout the entire class. I also do a 1:15 hour only strength training class every Friday. I have not experienced any problems and the weight seems to be coming off. I think that it is not coming off as fast as some others because my body fat is turning into muscles and as we all know that muscle weighs more than fat. I just believe that in the end my body will become more proportionate. Next week I will get my measurements taken and I am sure that I have lost more inches than what the scale says. I wish you continued success with your healthy living.
