Why the fascination with Kimmer?

Since this was a direct implication to my profession, that is the only reason I will answer in this thread.

Tigerr, for starters I tink most people following the plan eat more than that. People find a number and all of a sudden it becomes gospel.

Now take into account that people want to lose the extra fat. What is extra fat? Why it is STORED CALORIES for us to use as fuel.

Say a person takes in 700 calories a day through their diet (and I suspect many more people on kimkins are around 700-900) but the body may require 3000 to function, and then add exercise, and say 200 more calories are needed to meet the requirements of that. Where do you get the fuel for this? BY BURNING THE STORED BODY FAT.

Regardless of WHAT diet you may be on (and I've worked with people on all kinds) If you take in X amount of calories, and your body requires Y amount to function/exercise, then if X<Y you will burn body fat to make up the difference.

For a while there was a 24 hour refund policy, but that has been removed, so it's doubtful you'd get one, if you asked...

Why would "I" Have to back up "MY" claims if Kimmer can't do the same thing with her business? "I" wouldn't be messing with anything. That would be the investigative reporters choice, not mine. No one would have to claim anything, except that things don't add up and maybe they should look at it.

I didn't Say I would do it, I threw it out there as a "Maybe it could be done this way", but it sure makes me "Wonder" again.

At this point, "I" wouldn't have to do a darn thing (And wouldn't) but some one else might.

All she have to do is show up at a gathering with some of her California members or get a face-to-face interview with a local Southern California newspaper. Her "team" is in place to drum up more business, so I would think having the "founder" live and in person would be a big selling point. I personally would LOVE to see that Kimmer is exactly who she says she is and has had the success she claims. It would sure make me feel a lot better about paying $30 bucks to join her site!

PMs have to be read - like the other disclaimer said, if there is illegal activity going on in PMs, the responsiblity lies with the owner of the website. There's no privacy on a privately run website. That's a given. For "Kimmer" to say she would never read PMs just shows how ignorant she was about owning a private business and protecting herself. You can hire a lawyer to learn all this stuff and put it into practice, but to make claims like "I'll never read a PM" is either naive or duplicitous. Take your pick.

KimATC certainly provides lots of support on LCF, for free. But, this site is free! Lots and Lots of LCF's provide Kim with support, too.

I'm not attacking KimATC, just wondering if someone actually paid to be on her staff is one of those defending her here on this site. Or, am I attempting to point out that Kimmer is also taking advantage of KimATC?

Yes, I was here when Kimmer was. I've been here every single day since June 2002. My "What if" was not meant to be taken literally. It was in response the the post that I quoted with another "what if". My point being, none of us can really know who Kimmer is unless she steps foward, so "what if" could be absolutely anything.

Lots of people here have discussed the Kirstie Ally, panty hose, 145 my arse topic.

By the way, I did lose 150 pounds. But, I'm happy to post before, after and gained all back photos. If I lost it all again and wanted to sell my plan, I'd be supplying all sorts of pics as proof.

Hell, when my weight was down, my own mother tried to talk me into contacting various weight loss product companies and peddling up my pics. When money is involved people never cease to amaze me with what they'll do to get ahold of some of it.

I've seen a few times in the Kimmer threads a "Who cares if she is who she says she is?" perspective from a few posters. To me, it is like any other service I need help with, I want to know that the person I trust to advise me is legitimate and qualified to help me. If I need a doctor, I want a real doctor. If I need a plumber, realtor, financial advisor, whatever, you're darn right I want one that is legitimate.

Well, it could be that it is considered a job because of the time she puts in it, but she could be doing it for the experience, to build up her business. It happens, and this thread wasnt started questioning her, I just dont think it is constructive to try and jump on someone because they defend what they believe in.
I think asking someone if they get paid for the time they spent, if they dont want to answer, that is personal. We all come here for advice. You cant hold it against them.
