Kimmer always admitted she had had a tummy tuck and breast lift, and that insurance paid for it. Insurance does and will pay for it under specific conditions, and many formerly morbidly obese people will meet these conditions.

Kimmer frequently talked about her job at a non-profit agency, and her younger years (~age 16) as a single welfare mother - like 30 years ago.

Kimmer was always forthcoming about her past (and ongoing) fasting, that cannot be disputed.

I haven't seen any of her site members - either current or the allegedly banned - on these threads complaining. As we know, when people are banned, they waste no time in going to every other LC site to post all about it.

Her plan does not call for 300 calories a day - just because a particular poster keeps posting that over and over and over again doesn't make it true.

Just like all other people, quotes, etc. you don't get the big picture, you are taking bits and pieces from many different sources and using it to build a case against someone who won't give in to you and your so called questions, GOOD FOR HER. She's winning not you, she's spending her time doing something productive I'm sure, while your still sitting here debating her, what a shame. If the plan she put out there helps people, great, if it is a gimic, whatever, did she personally attack, or personally defame you, or personally hurt you, NO. We have so much time on our hands that this is what we do with it, sit on a chat board and talk about cheek bones and leopard dresses, myspace which could be anyone posing as her, DOUBT IS FEAR of the unknown, Did you try her plan? Did she steal money from you? Did you read Kimmer's Bootcamp? Did you read about exercise? Are you an adult and make your decisions? Do you have a choice? YES you do. Your choice is not to do all the research, not to try the plan. So you can't judge. End of story.
The answer here would be a resounding "YES". You weren't here when she was. She would regularly accuse people of lying when they posted their menu's. He usual response when someone posted their menu asking for help was "What did you really eat? How much LC ice cream did you have?"

The other poster was right, if you were eating 1200 calories, she wouldn't even give you the time of day. She expected anyone who was "serious" about losing weight to go down to 500-800 calories a day. If you weren't willing to go to those extremes, he usual response was "Don't over eat then expect me to sing kumbaya".

Have PCOS? Hypothyroid? No excuse for slow loss. If you aren't losing a pound a day, you are cheating and lying about it.

I miss Dana, too.

This thread reminds me of the boat loads of women that ask me "how old do you think I am?" I really really hate that question LOL! I guess age and physical appearance is relative to the person. There is a show now about the 40s against the 20s. All of my friends are aprox 35 to 50. We all agree that those 40 year old women for the most part look older than we would expect them to. I'm a makeup artist I see models all the time that look 100% diff in pics than in real life. In fact this is the norm.

These threads were started in other (non-weight loss) areas of LCF and moved to the Kimkins board by the admins.

yup. This is all true. THere was an underlying tone, I don't know how to put it, but it was like a sneer at people who ate 1200 calories, or felt they should be eating more because they were feeling woozy. It was like "if you were doing the plan right, you shouldn't need food." In my case I was exercising 1-2 hours a day, and you just NEED more food to exercise effectively.

Yup, she thought if you were doing it "right' you should be woozy. Being sick to your stomach, light headed, dizzy were absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

She "fasted" for long periods of time, consuming nothing but large quantities of Diet Coke.

Well, I'll be 34 in November and I constantly have people telling me I look around 25 and I've had nothing done. I've always looked young for my age. My avi pic was just taken last week when I got my hair done. So my point is, age is just a number. I do believe that she is a 47ish year old woman. I guess we can agree to disagree.

Buzzed yet nauseous (SNATT)?? GAAAAAKKKKKKK!!!!!! It almost sounds like starvation-induced euphoria, such as that seen in cults. I am simply not prepared to go to those extremes, and as Tooter said, this resembles eating-disordered behaviour.

I'll be honest - I would looooove to lose a pound a day by September and show up at an upcoming family function looking like Drew Barrymore instead of Ina Garten. I could probably shed that amount of weight on Kimkins in two months. But I'm honestly afraid that instead of being "drop-dead gorgeous", I'd simply drop dead. So I'll take the Low Glycemic Load Road, which is more scenic (all those fruits and veggies!) and if nobody sings Kumbaya, or I don't get to sing "Don't You Wish Your Girlfriend Was Hot Like Me" in two months' time, I'll live with it. For many long years, G-d willing.

Actually, if you click on her fitday journal, she does have days of eating
even less than that (June 17, 2007 total 193 calories), June 2, 2007-
a lettuce leaf, April 21, 2007 221 calories, etc etc. Maybe that is to
balance out eating too much on other days so making it average out to
be the amount on average per month whatever calorie range she wants.

Back in 2000, she had a 5538 calorie day and some 2000+ calorie days;
she probably ate less the following days to counter that
amount to make the average 1000 or so.
Her fit day for 2000-2001 looks like a pretty normal up and down of dieting.

In my opinion, we can still support each other in our journey to lose weight and get healthly, but at the same time can question something that is as suspicious as this. I don't doubt for a minute that you can lose weight on Kimkins, although I personally had problems with her promoting weight loss with zero exercise and only drinking diet sodas, no water. It's not my choice as a weight loss plan, but I'm not going to tell someone else not to do it if it works for them, just as I wouldn't bash WW even if it didn't work for me.

I think the fact that she is running a business and taking other people's money (a lot of money it seems) but she seems to be posting after pictures that aren't her leaves her plan open to scrutiny. One would think that if she truly changed her life and her body with this WOE and wants others to buy into her plan, she would be open and honest with her before and after pictures.

Now she's making money off of a Kimkins cruise, but won't be going on the cruise herself. That's a giant red flag to me.

But again, these are my opinions and the fact that I'm questioning Kimmer doesn't mean I won't support people on this board who choose to use her plan to lose weight.

I put the last two in Photoshop (not enough detail in the first two).

I measured proportions: jaw width, forehead width and roundness/flatness, lower lip to chin, etc. Not to mention WTH with the eye color in the third pic.

All I can say is

I miss Dana, too.

I remember this all too well... If you had a "stall" it was your own fault and you weren't serious enough. You were lying. There were many times when she was unkind. I had some discussions with her that didn't turn out well for me. If you disagreed with her, you would get dismissed or looked down upon not only by her but by her followers. It felt like she was condescending.

I don't know her, I don't wish her ill will, however I am fascinated and curious and wondering if she really has had weight loss success herself, who she really is, why she hides behind her website and facade. It is a good mystery. I can't help but wonder who is behind this!

I wonder how many of the Kimkins success stories on LCF were engineered by her? Her friends and relatives may have posed as regular LCF folks and had incredible success, etc. raving about her to help her with her viral marketing.

I also have some concerns about "SNATT" and how can that really be something to celebrate? Seems scary to me.

I am not bashing the followers of any eating plan, but I have concerns about Kimkins, which mirror the concerns that everyone else has shared. I don't want to see any of my LCfriends compromise their health or well-being for the goal of weight loss.

BTW, when I was at goal, I was so stoked that I was showing my Before and After pics to anyone who'd glance at them! I even have the dress I wore in my worstest fat pic stashed away in my closet, with the intro to my first WW class as a leader (which I was planning to do) scripted - I was gonna show up in front of the class in the dress, ask, "Does this make me look fat?" and then unbutton the dress to reveal my slim self in something chic and hawwwwtttt. Richard Simmons knows that as the "brand name" for his diet empire, he has to play the part, and he hasn't given up on those Bedazzled tank tops & shorts. So I am mystified about Kimmers' lack of B&A pics - c'mon, we all know it's part of being the frontperson.
