I have no doubt that it will be Kimmer on the phone. But what in the heck does that prove? Nothing. It will be nothing more then "The SPIN Zone".

Angie: I totally agree that the "after" picture is Kimmer at a young age. It is a very young face..say 20's...I totally agree with you..

I've always wondered how a woman could lose almost 200 pounds in 11 months at the age of 40, with no exercise and *only* have a tummy tuck and breast lift when all was said and done. The arms, in particular, on that infamous "red dress" pic do not look like the arms of a 40 year old who lost 200 pounds. Especially one who prides herself in not exercising.

Another "hmmmm" moment for me.
Exactly - hey I lost 57# and you should see my arms ..... they are just horrible. There is no way you can hide that excess skin on your arms unless you are wearing long sleeve blouses.....

I think Jmoore has moved on from blogging about the "controversy". Maybe tomorrow he'll go back to build up an audience for his oh-so-important-world-wide-excusive interview with his business partner whom he's never met in person.

So, what does everyone think the mystery woman will say to all those "tough questions" jm will throw at her?

I am guessing her answer will be: it works.

To every question.

So, I was thinking... what other "quick fix" weight loss gimmicks have we seen... all of which also "work": Fen phen, amphetamines, various illicit drugs... They offer extreme appetite suppression... quick weight loss... no interest in food... lots of energy...

And why are these weight loss methods illegal again?

On a totally somewhat unrelated topic, I read yesterday that in the later stages of anorexia, some peeps bodies digest their own nervous system. Ewww.

And I felt so sorry for her. She really was trying, really was working at it. I never would have set foot in a gym with all that loose skin. I was so impressed with her attitude and I admit I cried when the insurance company turned her down.

Carolyn, did you by chance catch the age of that woman? Ironic, but it seems to me her name was KIM, wasn't it?

Thats exactly what I have always thought too. You can tell that is an older picture and she is much younger, like in high school. I didnt believe her back then and i surely dont believe her now.

Carolina: Yes, it was Kim..I had to take a doubletake..LOL..My dh couldn't believe the mess her body was in..Her poor tummy was down to her knees.
Hopefully, she can "save up" for this surgery..

But, you know even AFTER peeps have this surgery, their bodies DO NOT look like the "red dress" picture..There are some lumps here and there..no big ones, but they are there.

First of all, I doubt that he'll throw any of the truly "tough" questions at her.

Secondly, if he does have such a list of questions, I'm sure he has already emailed them to her so she can come up with her typical catty replies in advance. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing sounds completely rehearsed.

Since I can no longer believe anything either one of them says, I will not be listening.

Which is why I think she should be accountable for her "after" picture. After all that is what is actually "selling" her diet....er..I mean Dr. Atkins diet with tweaks. Preying on people's desperation, thinking that if she looks that good after losing 200 pounds, than so can they, killing themselves to get there. If that IS actually Kimmer....than prove it.

I saw that and it's like was it really worth it? The number on the scale is not the only thing to consider. I don't think the red dress lady ever lost 200 pounds. NO amount of plastic surgery would produce that body.

If she'd forego the advisories to fast and take laxatives I could almost give her a pass. No one should be advised to fast. She's teaching "Eating Disorder 101" IMHO.

I am totally on the other side. I could never see myself going that low in calories. Even thinking about it makes me woosy and light headed. I have never had the desire to NOT EAT, I am in the opposite ED camp of eating TOO MUCH. This thread has made me really look at myself and realize that I have a serious emotional issue when it comes to eating. Even when I am doing LC or just watching calories I over eat healthy foods, almost to the point of being sick to my stomach. Maybe I need therapy. I also realize that I don't need "a diet" I need to learn how to eat properly and the proper portions.

Don't we all. That's the entire reason all of us came here. We've obviously been doing something Consistantly wrong in our eating.

That's why it's so imporant to have a "real" plan with checks, balances and room for growth and doing it "Healthy".

It's been a long Journey for me. I'm at Goal (and have been) but I am in NO WAY done. I'm always learning something New to be healthy or to add to my plan ...As well as things I have to watch that I don't eat them too much and cut back on. It's about Good Health, Balance and being consistant.

No Plan can Do all that for you, but a Sound plan can start you on your journey.

<<But if you start eating MORE..even 1100, it will grab everything and hang on to it for dear life because it doesn't trust you.>>>

Isn't this due, at least in part, because when you reach goal weight, your body requires fewer calories to sustain life?

OT..

Hi all. I got the sweetest note from Kimber a bit ago, asking about me, since I haven't been joining in the past couple days..

I just wanted to let y'all know, in case anyone else might have missed me, that I'm OK... Been dealing with issues brought up here, and in the past few days also had a family tragedy that is hitting pretty hard.. I'm doing my best to keep up my reading, but I'm not in a place right now to chime in...

Y'all are great!

No. A body requires a certain amount to maintain a certain weight. 1200 calories is what is needed on a daily basis for a body to operate and maintain all of its normal functions. That is the baseline, no matter if you weigh 400 pounds or 100 pounds.

Question - If I do my Water Fast using Diet Pepsi instead of Diet Coke is that still on plan, or would I be tweaking? In which case I would be off plan so I might as well just go eat a cheeseburger and forget the fast...

Annnyyywaaayysss...THe point of this post is to ask if anyone is planning on listening to the Jimkins podcast interview with the elusive Kimmer on Thursday? I am definitely curious, I'll give you that, but at the same time I am feeling like Jimkins has been hyping and over dramatizing this so much just so everyone will listen. He is probably banking on breaking some kind of record numbers with page hits that day. Not sure I want to contribute to that. He has been dragging LCF and its members through the mud with all his attacks yet I am sure he is counting on all of us to be right there listening to him. And truthfully, I kinda want to! Maybe we could pick one person to listen and take notes to share the with the rest of us...that way we could have our ooey gooey butter cake and eat it too! Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

I'm not giving him the page--or pod--hits he so desires. He's not worth the time and I don't have the patience for wasting my time.

There are no live appearances. This is a phone conversation. We can't even assume it's really her. It's not hard to give talking points to people and be represented. This whole thing could be orchestrated by a fat man from the Danish mafia syndicate named Svend the Svelte, for all anyone knows.

A tv appearance before Nightline answering investigative questions about the plan behind the plan? I'll tune in for that.

Celebrating here! It's taken me a week to get to this last page!
I remember Kimmer saturating the Main Lobby way back when, but I was doing and successful on regular Atkins as written and never followed her posts, but have gone back and read what's still there this week too.
I just want to say how much respect and admiration I have for everyone on this thread, especially the admins for allowing it to take it's course.
It's been full of happy, sad, scary and uplifting personal stories and Sherlockian Holmes investigative techniques.
Wow, what a ride.
Big Hugs to each and everyone of you here.

Hi CJane..

I believe my basal metabolism is actually around 1500...

you do have a change in your Basal as you diet.. it depends on your lean muscle mass:

"Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the amount of energy expended while at rest in a neutrally temperate environment, in the post-absorptive state (meaning that the digestive system is inactive, which requires about twelve hours of fasting in humans). The release of energy in this state is sufficient only for the functioning of the vital organs, such as the heart, lungs, brain and the rest of the nervous system, liver, kidneys, sex organs, muscles and skin. BMR decreases with age and with the loss of lean body mass. Increased cardiovascular exercise and muscle mass can increase BMR. Illness, previously consumed food and beverages, environmental temperature, and stress levels can affect one's overall energy expenditure, and can affect one's BMR as revealed by gas analysis. It is measured when the person is at complete rest, but awake. An accurate BMR measurement requires that the person's sympathetic nervous system is not stimulated. Basal metabolic rate is measured under very restrictive circumstances. A more common and closely related measurement, used under less strict conditions, is resting metabolic rate (RMR).[1]"

Taken from Wiki...

I know Cleo, you make such incredible sense, and I feel the same, but I'm still curious I guess that curiousity is what he is counting on, and why he has worked so hard to get everyone in a frenzy - more good marketing, and I'm ashamed to admit it worked with me! I know there has to be others on here that feel the same which is why I think if we plan to have one person listen and report, then all those that are tempted to sneak over for a quick listen -won't. I don't want him to benefit from this but I really do want to know how he plays the whole thing out.
