Just found Kimkins - very excited!

Hello, LCFer's!

I haven't been around in forever, and before then, I'd just joined to be a part of the Atkins board. To make a long story short, my brother was in a car accident the day after I joined here, and I had to fly to Houston to be with him. It's been an emotional rollercoaster with his recovery and trying to get back to my normal life, but I'm here - yea!

I just discovered the Kimkins plan. I seriously had never heard of it, and I thought I'd heard of every diet! I think it is the perfect plan for me. Here's my situation:

I'm 5'6, and weigh somewhere around 205, I think. I want to get down to my normal weight of around 150 lbs. It's not super skinny for me, but I'm comfy there. It's been years, too, since I've seen it! I've already lost roughly 10-15 pounds in the last few weeks, just by taking Hoodia and not having any appetitie (before Hoodia) because of dealing with my brother. I'm severe hypothyroid - I have only half of my thyroid in my neck, and take hormone replacement medication. Anyhoo - now that my life is calmer, I'm ready to start doing something for myself. I really want to try this Kimkins plan!

My snaffoo comes in that with a few financial things that have come up this year (and the fact that I have spent a small fortune on weight loss plans in the past) I promised my hubs that I wouldn't spend any more money on any diet plan until some things improve for us financially. It's a short term crunch - no big deal, but I'm ready to get started now! So, since I'm not joining the actual site and plan, I'm hoping that you folks can help me do this plan. There's a ton of reading here, and I hope to be up to snuff on it by tomorrow.

Until then, I just wanted to introduce myself to the gang and say how much us poor folks appreciate people who put info on the web for us to find, too!

Hi, Eva, and welcome. Good luck with Kimkins! I have been on Atkins since January but have cranked it up with Kimkins after a major stall. I am feeling better than I have for a long time and really like the simplicity of this WOE and the fast loss! I hope it works well for you, too! I understand about the emotional ups and downs and hope your brother is doing well, now. BTW, I am spending lots less for food than I was with Atkins because my portions are much smaller, and I am not eating nearly as much meat and fats and no cheese at all....

I only really have to make it through today, just this ONE day! I can do that!

Welcome!

Yes, one of the benifits of this plan is you eat so much less, you spend a lot less than on regular Atkins. Your hubby should be a happy camper.

I have also just picked up kimkins from my Atkins plan. Pretty sure you'll love it.

Wish you all the best.
