K/E and traveling?

I'm a newbie and this is my first day of kimkins. I'm doing relatively well with the K/E plan, but I have to fly out of town tomorrow and I need 'pack along' ideas for travel.

Boiled eggs will work, as well as tuna pouches, but I need additional ideas if there are any.

Also, wanting to find out:

*Is it ok to put spinach in eggs on the regular kimkins plan?
*Has anyone made 'blended salads' with spinach on the kimkins plan? I used to make them with cucumber, berries and kefir. It's a great way to down veggies, but I could use help with adapting the idea to fit my new WOE.

Thanks in advance!
Jenn

Hey ~ just noticed that no one has answered my post yet. Was it something I said? lol

Am I in the wrong place to ask this?
Have I violated some unwritten rule?

If so, please tell me so I can fix it.

Even if no one knows the answer it'd be great to at least not feel like an idiot here on my first try.

Can you tell I'm crabby?
Maybe I *should* go eat something else...

Well, I am not a long-timer but I have some ideas.

Now they have little packets of all kinds of meats, so grab some chicken too! Also I would, personally, pack sandwich baggies of salad mix. Perhaps even with pre-made salads in them. I like mine with chicken and cottage cheese. That way you can just grab a fork and have a salad right out of the bag!

Some other cold meals include shrimp, crab, and scallops. Deli meats of all sorts are fun to roll and nibble. I call that breakfast! Salami or pepperoni slices are also tasty and all of this can be tossed on top of a salad for a nice filler.

Jerky is probably a good idea, and lots of water to help with the salt. Lots and lots of water!

If you must eat out, remember that most fast food places have healthy options. Get a salad or a Boca burger and skip the dressing.

Don't forget your vitamins!

Lastly, being a cheese addict, some low fat string cheese, or pre-cut cubes could be just the thing you are looking for. I would also suggest taking some Crystal Light pour-and-shake individual packets to add a little sweetness to your trip.

Good luck!

aww... Bobbie, thank you so much. I feel better now.

I just came back to add that I'm also looking for info on what to do about bad breath
and if there are any beef jerky things available that fit the K/E plan...

I just realized that my gum, my 'green tea' mints and maybe even my listerene strips are no-no's. I hear that bad breath is a side effect of ketosis, but I can't find info on what y'all do about it... (tried searching, but must not be looking up the right terms)

anyway, LMK if you can advise me where to find the info. NOt tryin' to be lazy, just already spent too much time online and have to resort to aksing...

about the bad breath, anyone know about the licorice breath things from Aveda?

TIA!!!

I carry a travel size bottle of mouthwash in my purse. I can refill it from my big bottle at home. Crest Pro Health. Works wonders. Just swish and spit.
