Sparkpeople-Need Some Help

Ok I recently joined Sparkpeople and am trying to figure out how many calories I've eaten today. For breakfast I ate 2 hard boiled eggs. I don't know how many cups that makes. How many cups is one egg? I've noticed that it only measure in cups and so forth. HELPPP!

I am not familiar with Sparkpeople, but I know Fitday fairly well. With Fitday you can choose (with eggs) from a variety of sizes including the one on the box. Large, Jumbo, Extra-Large and all that.

You can also simply create your own entry using the nutrional information of the food you are eating. I like that best, because information can change depending upon what brand you are eating.

Perhaps Sparkpeople gives you the option to enter custom foods and you could do that intead.

Thanks. I just don't get this. I had black coffee with 2 packets of splenda and on the splenda packet it says no calories and less then 1 gram of sugar but when I entered it, it gave me a few calories. It's getting me frustrated. Maybe I should just not enter my meals. Not having a great day. I guess I'm extra sensitive due to TOM (Sorry if TMI)

I like fitday too. For me it is more user friendly.

I understand the TOM. It makes me crazy.

I also use sparkpeople. When you click on "egg" from the list, at the bottom it says 1 and then there is a little drop-down box that says "cup". Click on that little drop-down box and you'll see you have a bunch of different options like size of egg, cups, etc. Choose the size of egg you ate then click the button to add it to your day. HTH

Some of the confusion is that food companies have a 20% error rate that is allowed. So if it is below say 5 calories they can list 0, now use 3 of those little packets and you have 15 calories! Same with the carbs, if it is below 1 they can list 0, when in reality it may be .6. That is why you will get calories or carbs when you enter it into SP or Fitday
