No loss on K/E.......I dont understand....
Hello everyone. Im more of a lurker, but in this case Im gonna be a poster. I started K/E last Monday weighing 363. I decided to do a week of it as I know I was very carbed up. I ate only lean meats, chicken breast, egg whites. I had ketosis sticks and they were measuring large quatities of ketones..sticks very purple. Drank at least a gallon of water each day. I step on the scale this morning, and voila....no loss.....BOOOOOOOOOO I dont understand.
I really like that I dont have an appetite anymore. But I cant understand why I would not have a loss. I would have been happy with at least 1 pound. Has this ever happened to anyone doing K/E. I wanted to switch off to Kimkins and start adding carbs, but Im unsure if I should. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

but as you can see I'm not bad at giving advice . But if the scale isn't moving and my jeans are getting bigger than I figure I've lost inches rather than pounds. Do your clothes feel any less tight? If I were you I would stick to it, watch your calories (through fitday), measure so you can monitor your inches as well and don't give up right away - it will happen. |

I do not lose on too few calories, that may be your problem, too.
Do you take any medications? Have you added anything new like protein shakes or s/f candy? Some oddball things can cause your body to say "nope- not gonna do it!". BTW where about in the RGV are you? I was born and raised in Bayview/Los Fresnos Haven't been back in years! |

I would stick with it for another week and see what happens...so many things could be affecting you right now...for instance--are you close to TOM (time of the month)? Do you retain water when you eat certain foods? Are you eating a lot of bacon and ham or other salty meats? I retain water something AWFUL, especially near TOM....I don't even like to weigh myself at that time because I KNOW I'll either see a really small loss or a GAIN...BOO!
Keep with it....your body is a science experiment! Log your food into Fitday...sometimes we don't realize how many calories we consume in a day. Even though I'm doing Kimkins, I find it difficult to keep my calories under 1000 a day....but I'm losing....you might be eating more than you actually realize....

Hang in there! I've also been doing this since June 11th - only lost about 5.5 lbs! Stuck now for a few days. I feel good, very dark maroon stixs, appetite is very low and getting my water in.
Measure yourself, I did remeasure and it didn't really show any loss of inches except in my thighs but everything is fitting loose! Hang in there - it will happen!!! |

When you look up insulin resistance on the Internet, you will find it talked about with PCOS. I suppose mine was not called PCOS since I don't have any ovaries anymore. I now take a medication called Metformin and have finally started losing weight. HTH, Nancy |

don't give up-hang in there and use fitday, see if tracking it gives you some clues. You can do this! |
