Wanting to start Kimkins, but not sure how?

I got very inspired by the article in Women's World this week and from reading this board. I starting researching the program but unfortunately at this time I can't afford the $60 to join the site. My husband is working 2 jobs just to make ends meet for us; while I attend school full-time. I would like to know how to get started? What's the first thing I need to do? I want to lose about 100lbs. I'm 5'3" and 227lbs. I have done Atkins in the past and lost, but got very bored with it. I didn't have a computer at the time for great support boards like this. I just went off of packages and looked for LC. I also ate veggies and that. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi Tanya, just a caution, if you got tired with Atkins, Kimkens is a lot stricter and less varied, but on the upside you lose a lot faster so you can get it over with and transition into a maintenance plan. I did K/E, lost my 30 pounds in two months and for my last 10 cycle between K/E Kimkens and Atkins. Kimkens is basically Atkins 72 plan but you restrict calories and watch your fat intake by having lean meats and eggs, no beef, or cheese and just enough fats ike Mayo to make your recipeds work. Hope that helps.

Tanya- You can definately do it. I lost 110lbs on Kimkins between January and mid May. I did not cheat AT ALL and exercised EVERY day. You can also do it pretty inexpensively. I ate 2 boiled eggs or a protein shake for breakfast, tuna or chicken breast for lunch, and tuna, chicken breast or other broiled fish for dinner most nights. If you do Kimkins, make sure to take a good vitamin (I just stayed with my prenatal vitamins) and drink lots of water. I cut out diet soda except for maybe 2 diet rites a week and that helped cut cravings. PM me if you have any questions.

You *CAN* have beef....just LEAN cuts of beef.

Where do you get 'no beef' from?
