hehehe...I am now pulled together Kimmer. The last time I went shopping I started bawling in the dressing room...ok...just a few tears and they were happy ones but my gosh...I got into a size 12. They were tight but to me that just meant that 10's, 8's and eventually 6's are right around the corner. Of course I thought they were around the corner 8 months down the road, but not anymore. I'm hoping for 10's...or dare I even hope for 8's...by July. If it continues at this rate it will definately be 8's by July.
Ok...no more crying at work. you all for all of the help and support!Jody |

![]() I don't see a reason, although there can be some water retention. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs, so even a few glasses can add 2. What are you eating on KE? How long 'stalled'? As you know, I don't believe in them. There's always a reason, we just have to find out what. |

hmmm...My first day eating KE style was Tuesday, May 23rd so today is my 4th day eating this way. Yesterday late in the afternoon I started feeling occasional nauseau and then this morning it was full on snattiness. I am trying to keep busy and not think about it too much. We have free pop here at work and I will go look around at the fountain pop machines and see if I can find diet 7up or diet vernors. If not then I will drink some diet coke...just because I love it.
I will definately be looking forward to not being quite so snatty but quite honestly - I would do this for the next 3 months if it meant burning my bootie off this fast! Wowza!!! Thanks Kimmer! I absolutely you! ![]() |

I understand anti-carber's confusion....I did not read carefully so I thought cream on K/E was okay. I guess I saw what I wanted to see, hunh? But I have it now!
Having a history of binges, cyclic eating and anorexia would make me very cautiious too. Anti-carber, good for you in knowing yourself well enough to stop when you need to and still keep on losing weight! I do not know how long I can DO this but I am determined to last until June 15th and then re-evaluate. My issues are different than yours. I am terrified of being slim and possibly sexy. I hide myself all the time and cannot wear new clothes. I am still hiding in my old ones after 85 pounds....sounds crazy but abuse issues I thought were dealt with are rearing their ugly heads. God bless you anti-carber.

The lousy feeling passes, but you'll still feel kind of "Uh, food? Hmmm, no thanks?" Don't argue, LOL! Panda, I'm sorry, I didn't notice you're in Canada. Panda Express is a large Chinese fast food chain in malls and some markets. They are owned by Vons which I think is Kroger? Totally delicious, absolutely wrong for rapid weight loss! |

First the good news!! I'm down another 1 1/2 lbs.
The bad news is that I have had a headache for 3 days and extreme dry mouth, my TOM is dragging on way longer than normal, and my eyesight has gotten noticably worse. I can barely eat. Kimmer are those things going to end soon, do ya think? Are they related to the diet possibly? I AM under some very unusual stress right now - personal issues - so maybe that's it?? |

No, it's not the diet unless the chemical changes that happen in the ketosis switch are affecting your eyesight. There's nothing to benefit eyes by eating sugar (carbs). Sorry about your stress. Is it affecting your food choices, hopefully not? Regarding TOM, did you ever use birth control pills? If so, the stored hormones are being released into your blood stream and that affects TOM. You can barely eat? Good. That's the appetite suppression Dr. Atkins wrote about. Pick small amounts of lean protein or bites of veggies throughout the day. Don't force yourself to eat. My guess is you're on the verge of the Domino Effect. Super weight loss is right around the corner, way faster than 3500 calories = 1 pound allows. |

kimmer..
maybe its best to be a little more clear about your diet so theres no confusion!! Why not state CLEARLY in your posts that Kimmers exp is NOT calorie restriction in any way and that you eat as much as you need to as long as its lean protein and eggs! Maybe the next person will be spared from the starvation/binge episode i succumbed to! If everything was clear as day..i wouldnt have done it. You keep saying over and over that this is STillmans...and you mentioned more than once that Stillmans is 500-750 cals a day. I KNOW THE CONFUSION wasnt in my own mind..it WAS here on the thread! I forgive you for being so snippy, we all are at times. First becky replied to something not written to HER, but written to you. Then you replied to somthing not written to you but written to becky. Why anyone would be upset with me just because i am choosing NOT to do kimkins i have no idea! i didnt say "GEe kimmers diet sucks and ya'll better not do it!" did I? I thought i was pretty clear that it wasnt FOR ME! To be honest there was NO HOSTILITY on my part, the hostility came in beckynetts post and then your post. Anyways..im done here..I hope everyone has some great weight loss. karen

Anticarb, Stillmans' is 500-650 calories after appetite suppression kicks in. Dr. Stillman also wrote that you eat all you care to. But you'd have to read to know that.
From Post #1: Here's the guidelines for the Kimmer Experiment (not M/E): As much lean protein as you desire Length of time is 3-5 days depending on how 'carbed up' you are Purpose is to experience 'real' ketosis (weight loss, no appetite) Useful as a springboard for other LC programs No alcohol, no cheese Basic condiments and spices OK (watch catsup & A1 sauce) I wish you luck with the pork rinds, cheese and nuts, although that isn't what Dr. Atkins had in mind. |

Let's peacefully and very nicely resume the Q & A's
I think everyone can agree that the the seeker bears the responsibility to thoroughly read all available info and not expect someone giving their Unpaid for time and energy to help others to constantly have to clarify that which is clear to most. <sneaking back to lurk mode after given unasked for 25cents> |

Kimmer: (OT from KE)
wanted to thank you for dedicating so much of your personal time to everyone here.. thats really generous of you. I read this thread daily although im not really participating (looking at my food choices.. maybe I am and didnt realize it )I also wanted to thank you for the link to curezone.. I love to read and it has a bazillion interesting forums going on there! Im researching fasting right now.. not that I want to do a complete fast myself, but most of the time I only eat one meal a day and am not hungry the rest of the day (I also work very hard physically). Ive also been researching the health benefits to 'calorie restriction' and longevity.. although I will be honest and say the one meal a day thing was not on purpose, I just fell into it from ketosis I suppose! Im also researching 'oil swishing' sounds funny but its fascinating..anyhow.. sorry for the threadjack but wanted to thank you for the information you post.. it's very interesting.. and the time you take here to care for people (afterall you really dont have to do this!) If you have any other sites you frequent or think I might find interesting Id love to take a look! and please excuse me.. my apologies if I shouldnt have posted this here.. just wanted to send a big thanks to you ![]()

Yep, I took BCP for 30 years, with small breaks for pregnancies. The stress I'm under is NOT affecting my eating plan, for maybe the first time in my life. Luckily I had started the diet BEFORE the stressful situation came along and was well into ketosis. This is the 11th day, and I'm down 9 1/2 lbs. So, it's working extremely well.
I still need to read about the headaches though.... |

![]() .01% Retin-A is the weakest strength. Have you thought of upping it to .05% (Renova includes a moisturizer) or my strength, which is the strongest at .1%? If you go with the strongest, you can apply it OVER moisturizer at first to cut the strength until your skin gets used to it. Retin-A helps with established wrinkles to some degree. It also rebuilds collagen which helps sagging of the skin where attachs to facial muscles ... but it doesn't help with the inevitable sagging of muscle from bone. See if your doc will let you try the stronger stuff, or you can buy it online. In the Retin-A thread (Past Amazing Posts), Dana114 posted several websites. |

I'm an oldtimer, been on this board for many years but still basically a lurker. I'm doing Kim Kins now & switch back & forth to reg Atkins at times. Kimkins is great! I believe that Kimmer's advice is crystal clear and just want to say that I really appreciate her taking the time to help us all.
Thanks much Kimmer |

Once you show your body who's boss ("no, I'm not eating sugar and that's all I want to hear about it!"), the switch to body fat for calories is stronger and the headaches subside. I don't see anything wrong with taking a pain killer, even regular aspirin. |
