Kimmer - Since you're popular, i'm going to bug you too!
I've read you're on a budget. Me too. What cuts of meat that are cheap are low fat? I am having trouble finding suitable meats within my budget. I get chicken legs/thighs and take the skin off but they still have more calories than the white meat.

Skinless legs and thighs are fine, so is pork loin (not the fatty roasts), or canned fish like water packed tuna and salmon.
I don't care for fish (except canned tuna), but if you like it then check out the prices in that area. Round steak, flank steak and London broil are lean (which means they usually need more cooking to tenderize) and not too bad in price on sale. Other people will have better ideas about less $$ meat. I tend to shop by "package price" not price per pound. I prefer to spend $3/package, maybe $5 if it's special. My dinner budget for a family of 5 with plenty of leftovers is $6-8 for everything. I am a huge meat eater, and I try to stay around 8 dollars per meal for a family of four. I shop for meat (most all of it unless the "regular" stores are having huge sales) at a butcher shop. The place is always freezing and my kids say - no not the cold store - but we bundle up and go in. They have chicken skinless/bonless breasts for like 1.59/lb, most roast are 1.99/lb. And when the "fancier" cuts of meat are anywhere from 4-6 dollars a lb. They by no means have the largest selection - but it is great for my purpose. They also have dairy, produce and a small deli section plus a decent selection of some "typical" items that I also get for the rest of my family. I had to hunt the place out - they really do not advertise. Try to find out whats available besides reg. food stores - I definetly would not be able to afford the things I buy at traditional stores.

I get canned tuna (2 or 3 for $1) and salmon ($1 can). Boneless skinless chicken breasts when on sale only (1.79-1.99 lb) and then stock up. Ground beef when on sale (try to get the leanest, but if reg ground beef was the only one on sale, that's what I'd buy and drain very well) (.99 lb on sale). Sometimes frozen unbreaded fish fillets are b1g1free.
