Kimmer... did You Know?

Hey Kimmer... I was just visiting a website that I used to participate on, back about 2 years ago...

Did You know You are famous over there? They have a huge area with Your M/E plan... and it is VERY WELL done!

MAybe You already know this, and I am late with the news... but I was happy to see this.

Listen Lady... You need to maybe publish your experiment or something!!!! Before someone else cops the credit!

They are raving about it and there are A LOT of people following it... They even give links to your "Fit Day"

M/E: originally posed as a 3 day challenge (to judge whether you're over on carbs ... if you lose 3+ pounds, you were).

eat only eggs and meat (lean for best results)
not counting egg carbs, try to keep other meat carbs to a minimum
no "junk" meats: hot dogs, pepperoni, etc.
unlimited diet drinks, plain coffee & tea (plain as in no cream, half/half)
but no alcoholic beverages!
unlimited use of artificial sweeteners
no cream, butter, mayo, cheese or other extra fats
(for example, instead of butter, trying cooking with PAM)
take some kind of multivitamin!!!
NO CHEATING!!!! It's just for 3 days!

M/E will put you into ketosis, you will experience appetite loss etc. and naturally eat less which will automatically lower your calories. If you're really carbed up, it might take you until Day 4 or 5 to experience the ketosis.

After M/E, you want to maintain the loss from your fast and keep burning more fat, so it's important to transition into another plan that continues to keep you in ketosis. This is where "Kimkins" comes in:

Kimkins: basically M/E but can added back minimal fats: use just enough mayo and butter "to make it work" & add veggies (Per Atkins 1992 Induction)

up to 3 cups salad veggies or
up to 2 cups salad veggies + .5 cup "cooked"

It's important to measure veggies. One cup of lettuce is a small, loose handful. Watch the salad dressing! Better yet, use a low calorie one.

Overall, keep carb totals under 20 for the day, but they are WHOLE carbs, not "net" carbs, no subtracting out fiber or sugar alchohols!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Personally, I suggest doing M/E for only 3 days and do it CLEANLY since it's only 3 days!!! (and only ever originally meant to be 3 days)

and then transition into Kimkins to make it more "doable" and more likely to be able to sustain, since it's not as restrictive....but still strict enough to keep you in ketosis!

some people like to stay on M/E for days on end, and I think that's unnecessary when Kimkins can keep you in ketosis--but that's just IMHO!!

I have been following Kimmers Way fot about a month... lost 16 lbs. Yesterday I went on M/E and today I'm 2 lbs lighter.

Over on the other thread... (can't say who) They are listing this plan as
"Lifetime M/E Plan" I don't think I would ever take it to that extreme!

yeah, i went over to see what they were doing...from what I saw--they're not doing Kimmer's M/E at all...they're doing a very high fat M/E...meats like sausages...and lots of cheeses, cream cheese, butter, etc.

must be different than what you saw...

oh well...doesn't matter to me...I like it here!

Yes they are ...and they are touting it as "her" experiment... I noticed THAT!

I was surprised that the plan was over there.

That site was started by a couple of Canadian Ladies years ago..., very much like this one.

But I prefer this one, that is why I am here.

I went snooping to see if it was even there anymore... should not have posted their web address... (nicely warned) wasn't thinking... just wanted Kimmer to know, in case she wanted to see what was going around about her plan....

Anyway, they have quite a bit written at the top of the page about it. And do give info on her "Fit Day" and some of her posts.

She might want to check it out.

Next thing you know NBC will be wanting to interview her!!!

If I was her...I'd go make sure that they weren't touting the high fat plan as her plan...I don't think she'd want her name attached to such a high fat, high calorie plan! (but i'm not her...so i won't try and speak for her on this one! )

Well, at least my fame accounts for something, LOL! No, I don't go to any other LC sites, I have a hard enough time here.

The other site you are talking about is all about extremes. Not much in the way of healthy over there. I began visiting that board before finding this one and I have no plans of ever going back. I've seen the other place even touting the old "finger down the throat" and anorexia... as if those are viable, healthy options.

We are all definitely in the right place.

ya, like these 2 examples LOL.

---------

Hi everyone, I have been doing M&E for 20 days now and I am feeling great. The first 2 weeks were rough but I hung in there and now I feel awesome! I was originally planning on eating all M&E for 46 days but now I want to continue indefinitely and make this a life plan.

Or this one, these people need to get real

Yup I found ya. Can't loose me THAT easy

Day 37 straight on M&E w/ about 55 since January.

Another great day. Tonight's exercise is going to be free weights and tomorrow attempt will be walking/running.

his one...

Haha... I wonder what happens when they go back to veggies???

KA BOOM!!! They are gonna explode!

The web site is extreme... (I used to be on it too...left for a number of reasons!) To come up with a plan of "M/E for life" is absurd and putting Kimmers name on it in my book, is not a good thing!

I'm serious.... some news caster will find it, and because it has to do with LO_CARB... make a mockery out of it, and may add her name to it!

The news unfortunately loves to report and sensationalize everything
