KIMMER, WHERE ARE YA!!! KIMMER!!!!!!

I was reading about "Kimmer's Experience" and I was wondering if this is safe to do BEFORE doing ATkins Induction, or if this is best just for stalls. I was a bit confused about her post regarding her "Kimkins" WOE. I want the fastest, safest weightloss possible.

Thanks. Jennifer

The "Kimmer Experiment" was 3 days of lean protein only ... nothing else, no bars, cheese, oil, etc. It is the same as Stillman's.

Yes, it's safe! The purpose was to show people who are 'stalled' that they are over on carbs, or for those who have never experienced 'real' ketosis with appetite suppression.

For anyone "carbed up" beforehand, it may take 5 days ... but then, no appetite. And it's lean protein, no double cheeseburgers.

Well, I guess my desperate title worked

Steak, eggs and chicken it is!! Thanks! I'm not stalled, but I thought this was a great way to start, especially since I'm RAVENOUS all the time. Plus, I HATE VEGGIES!!!! ... This is also the way I used to eat when I was a kid, and I NEVER had weight problems. It only makes sense.

Thanks so much for answering so fast... You truly are the "low-carb goddess"

Take care....

I did my weight loss phase with the 3 first days being "protein only" so I'd avoid the whole hunger thing.

Sorry you needed a "desperate" title, LOL, I don't get online that often sometimes and I only check the first page.

(Hey, no 'goddess'!) Are you participating on any Challenge threads? I think they would be a great help ... if it's a "help" thread and not a "yeah, we all keep screwing up so what's the difference" thread.

So far, I don't participate in any challenges. I'm not really sure which one to join, anyway since I'm a newbie and all...I'll have to check them out, though. So, you only did this experiment for 3 days, then you moved on to induction? Is that correct??? I read almost all your posts, and I was a bit confused with that...

Jennnifer, I did "old" Atkins Induction:

1) Up to 3 cups of salad veggies (tomatoes weren't allowed) or
2) Up to 2 cups of salad veggies plus up to .5 cup of cooked veggies
3) No LC products or snacks or alcohol

The only difference between the "Kimmer Experiment" and Induction is up to 3 cups of salad (2 small handfuls) per day.

You'll lose your appetite and lose very quickly due to low calories and the "ketosis" effect which expediates weight loss.

If you cheat, even once, you'll set yourself back a week or so. As Dr. Atkins wrote, "Cheating is the kiss of death" on this diet.

Well that, and the fact that apparently everyone I talk to that is doing Atkins is loading up on butter and fats and not eating lean meats.... Thanks, again. By the way, your picture is beautiful. I hope I look HALF that good at your age!

There are vast differences in people's interpretations of "doing Atkins".

You are so correct in this! Beautiful girls, by the way! I'm down 8 lbs off induction, and I'm going to go on to this "kimkins" plan. I HATE VEGGIES! ( Even though I may sneak in a quick salad or two within the next couple of months). I honestly haven't seen anyone around here who's doing this 3 day plan for any longer than 5 days... hmmm....

That makes so much fraking (sorry, Battlestar Galactica fan) sense. I'll LC like a maniac for a few days, have the smallest little bite, and wonder why I haven't lost weight in the past several years.

Yeah, I can understand that comment. I'm still trying to see how much of this Milk Thistle stuff I'm supposed to take. I know Kimmer said she used 2 in the morn. and 2 in the eve., but this bottle says only to take 1 tab. once or twice daily. Also, it says 1000 mg. on the front, and has 250 mg on the supplement facts label.. I'm confused.lol

Phatt, the milk thistle I take says 175 mg standardized on the back of the label. Of this I take 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening.

One per day is the standard dosage instructions for herbal supplements, whether that dose would be effective or not.

For me, it's a powerful liver detoxifier ... with laxative benefits.

Thanks again, Kimmer. I took 2 this morning. At 1:56 p.m., I still haven't "done" anything. I guess this stuff takes a while to kick in. I'm going to take 2 more this evening, a few hours before bed. I'm really hoping this stuff works, because I have a blood disorder, as well as eczema, and I read that it can help with both of those. ( it didn't LIST the blood disorder, but it sure won't hurt!)
