Drink question for Kimmer
Hi Kimmer, since you are a wealth of knowledge I thought I ask your opinion on this. I'm trying to drink more liquids. I know water is best, but I have a hard time drinking enough unless it is really hot. Anyway, what do you think about ice tea with a tiny bit of lemon squeezed. I dont even need the splenda, but just having the tea flavor makes it easier to drink alot.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing to drink on LC plans? |

I'm sure she'll come in and answer, but if I recall correctly, she's not a big water drinker either.
I think you'd be okay with tea. |

hahahahaha! That's funny Kimmer! Goes to show that you'll still lose without the recommended 8 glass a day!!
I'm a water junkie. I usually drink up to about 12-15 glasses or more a day but it has to be at room temperature. To alternate the taste once in a while, I'll put a pinch of Crystal Light in a big bottle or a lime. |

Zabby, I think water is by far the best thing to drink ... I just can't do it. I'm such a whiner!
![]() But I always like to point out that if we have 2 glasses, one pure water, one diet soda and mix them together in a pitcher, the pure water is no longer "pure". This is what happens in your stomach. Also, the next time you're at a drink machine (where you push the glass against a lever), watch how it mixes. It's mostly water with a tiny thread of soda syrup. So, if we drink soda we can consider that we're drinking a glass of water with 1 tablespoon of soda concentrate "chaser". ![]() |

A gallon of water a day for me! I actually crave it when I don't get it...and it seems when I'm really thirsty, the only thing that quenches it is a nice glass of cold water.

The only thing I worry about with tea is the caffeine in it. I don't know how high it is but I have been off of caffeine since starting this WOE and I don't want to get dependant on it again by drinking tea. Don't know if you have cut caffeine yet but just something to think about if you have.

Just a thought...being hydrated is important, no matter what your drink of choice is. I don't like plain, icy water...so I drink it at room temp..flavored with whatever; tea, lemon, Davinci, lime or ..?? SF sodas are too dang sweet for me, but if it works for you...
And tho I've read that my fav drink (COFFEE) is dehydrating, I stlll drink it, just also drink plenty of other liquids to offset it.Best Wishes Shawnee |

Not exciting, but ... ? Shawnee, a few months ago I posted a mini-experiment done at a University where they split a group of people in half. Group #1 drank only water, Group #2 drank coffee, tea, soda. It was climate controlled over 3 days. The result was identical hydration in both groups! The researchers explained that while caffeine products may encourage more urination (dehyration), people drink more to compensate. |

The same.If you read our "30 Day Water Challenge" (or something like that) in the Past Amazing Posts forum, you'll see I tried to do it with water. I was so miserable and stressed ... which is counterproductive to the fast. I do dilute my Crystal Light more during the fasts though (yeah, big deal!) I do a water (OK, diet drink) fast each month for a weekend. |
