Kimmer, I really need your opinion...

Hi Kimmer first of all I would like to say that I think you are a great inspiration and I think you should write a book!

Now, I'm sorry that this is just to the point, but I'm at work.

I reviewed your fit day journal and realized that you had egg drop soup alot. Well, I have this idea and I would like to know if you think it is feesible and would it allow me to achieve even more rapid weight loss. See, I'm always pressed for time and I would like to do a "new" easy verision of low carb. What do you think about me just having egg drop soup for breakfast and lunch and then eating a sensible "inducted" low carb dinner. Do you think I would lose even faster? Do you think it will be safe. I weigh 215lbs and I want it off as fast as possible. {I recently put on 70lbs in less than a year" I really would like your opinion on the matter. Thanks in advance/

I can certainly understand pressed for time when working! Here's my take on quick weight loss:

1) Fastest, of course, is water fasting but it doesn't sit well with me for weight loss. I don't think a person gets a chance to practice new eating/food choice skills. Still, there are clinics that supervise water fasts specifically for morbidly obese patients.

2) Second fastest is Stillman's which is lean protein and eggs, a dash of LF cheese. This was designed by a medical doctor who had to take off weight FAST. I'm very fond of Stillman's. Downside is boredom for some (not me, I'm totally results oriented and the diet is pure simplicity!) It is 500-650 calories.

3) Third fastest is Atkins, only because of the increase in carbs and calories. According to the Atkinscenter, 1200-1400 calories for someone who wants to weigh 120 pounds.

My best advice for a sustainable plan (anyone can do an 'emergency plan' for 3-4 days) would be a combo of Stillman's and Atkins. Look for lean protein (skip the fats), pick 2 servings of low carb veggies (salad type veggies, mixed, not 1 cup of bell peppers -- too high carb!) Skip FF (high cal) salad dressing and look for interesting LF (many enjoy Kraft Casesar Parmsesan).

Egg drop soup is quick and delicious, but only provides a small amount of protein (you want to be around 70 minimum).

BREAKFAST: (on the go), egg drop soup
LUNCH: (fast food) At a sub shop, ask for fixings w/o bread
DINNER: Grill/roast/broil your protein (4-6 oz), add 2 'grabs' of salad mix w/ LF dressing

Drink diet soda/0 carb drinks as you like. Take a Centrum type vitamin each day. This method will take off weight quickly. Really watch fats (dressing).

Thank you so much for responding quickly!

Since protein is so low in egg drop soup,I was wondering, what if I add chicken to the soup. Do you think that would work?

Sure! That would be like a fancy chicken soup! Try out different recipes at www.fitday.com to get an idea of where you'll be protein & carbwise.

Good luck!

I have always found the more simple the plan, the better I do.

Also, be sure to take body measurements (bust, waist, 'pouch', hips, thighs, calves, upper arms). It's the best motivator there is to hold the tape where it was a couple weeks ago and watch it fall this week!
