Belated JUDDDiversary to me

So, I was tidying up my profile and realised I've missed my JUDDDiversary which was 11 December back in 2011

Anyway - thank you, all of you. I wouldn't be where I am today without you and without the example of so many delightful people who achieved radical goals and remained here to show others that there is grace in maintenance*.

*And, those of you who aren't in maintenance but are on extended maintenance breaks from WLM, you're still maintaining what is classed as radical weight loss from your original, starting weights. Treasure that. It's an achievement and radical weight change is an endurance event not a sprint.

I'll spare you the remainder which would just riff off Cavafy's Ithaca (lots of excellent recordings on YouTube) but this really is a "marvellous voyage" made easier with JBs as companions on it.

Dec 2014 A DXA scan reported very low muscle mass (sarcopenia) so I'm still thinking about how to cope with that. I have some joint surgery to schedule. I may miss questions that people ask me or personals. Apologies if I do, it's not intentional.

Happy JUDDDiversary, Slowsure! I found JUDDD at the same time as you, and I truly appreciate all your insights, encouragement, and honesty.

I've found that what you said above is so true: I lost 20lbs, then "maintained" for 2 years before getting back into WLM this past summer and losing another 20lbs. I needed to keep remembering what a big deal it was that I actually kept the first 20lbs off, and then became ready to lose the rest. This is really about transformation, which is rarely immediate (and wouldn't be as rewarding if it were).

So glad to know you and to have your wisdom here!

Thank you all so much! Apologies for disappearing (I've belatedly realised that my horribly itchy scalp and other inaccessible areas have psoriasis - I applied a medication and then developed my own extra troubles with that. I've had allergies before but never psoriasis so it's taken me a stupidly long time to recognise what was happening).

SeaBreezes - I have my last minute stuff to do (stollen bars and cardamom ring Italian cookies) but everything else has been done and mostly distributed (except for the stuff to neighbours on Xmas Eve and those who are getting the items with a more limited shelf life). 3 kayaking clubs got their 'care' packages over the weekend so the holidays will see a lot of cake and cookie-fuelled paddles

This is my 4th Christmas season as a faster It's so odd to think of it like that.
