Back to modified rotations!

JUDDD friends!

Long time no post!

I wanted to post because SlowSure wanted someone to try 2000/1000 rotations. I'm your girl, SS! My main goal right now is to stop gaining, but I hope to lose as well.

(For those who don't know me, my history is here.)

I'm doing 2000/1000 because I need to do something manageable right now. I'm also limiting sugar, moderate carb, and focusing on healthy foods. Fingers crossed this will reverse the regain for now! So far so good.

Chris, I'm delighted to see you joining your JBs again. Sometimes new job challenges are positively thrilling but it's hard not to regret the associated stress and the havoc this can wreak in so many other ways.

I'm so impressed that you improved your LBM. It's hard to do that without gaining a little fat as well but well persevered with your exercise.

Dr Johnson's calculator gives a range of options for weight loss mode. When people ask for advice on which level to select, we typically say 20% (which influences your DD calories) because that's what has usually worked for people here. Thing is, we haven't had people try the other levels - so we don't have a collection of experiences at that level.

Somewhere along the track, I've several times wished that we did have input from people who've selected different but viable WLM levels for DDs and UDs. And I'm delighted that CaliChris is trying this.

I"m also trying but with different amounts - mine are now (about ) 1800 and 900. Today is an UD for me and I've had 1766. The average daily is a good one for me at 1350 which is about my TDEE too. My weight average this month is 114.888.

The jury is still out for a definitive answer on my low carb low cal modified rotations of roughly 800/1100. It seems to be working on lower cal for each day with some being lower than others, but not going higher than 1200 to actually lose rather than maintain the previous day's weight.

I guess this is not "real" Juddding, so perhaps I shouldn't join in these conversations. It is interesting to read of other successes though.

Hi SS! I don't know how well my LBM is preserved anymore.... that info was from last Spring. I'm certain I gained more muscle after that when I was doing New Rules of Lifting for Women, but I have been very sporadic in the gym since July and equally certain that I've lost some of that again. And now I'm resting my achilles tendon which has been hurting for weeks, but lifting is actually one of the the things I CAN do, so I should!

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 2000/1000. I am liking it so far, so stay tuned for results or lack thereof.

I'm not sure where I am!!!

I am staying the same between 114 - 115.75. I want to see 114 so badly, but I only see it a couple times a month now! I mostly see 115.

I think I have too high UD and DD.

This has been a bit stressful week, nothing real major, but still stressful still the same!

If you can eat 1800/900 and maintain 115 that is flipping awesome!!!!
I eat much less and recently am having trouble maintaining 125lb. (I'm not sure what is going on with me and am a bit worried that my thyroid might be tanking.)

Can I second that remark to Leonak?

And, um, yes - you may well need to follow up on that Carly - you're younger than Leonak, you're not even in the age-bracket for peri-menopause. I hope that you can get to the bottom of this.

How's it going, Chris? I've been doing about what you're doing, but a bit less on DDs. I think I've been around 700-900 this week. I like thinking I *can* go to 1000, and it makes it more likely that I can stick to eod instead of just 4:3.

So far, so good! The scale is down 4 pounds from November 5 -- partly water I think, but I'll take it -- and it's felt very doable, which is what I needed right now. Hope it keeps working! One good thing about it is that I'm a little hungry on the 1000 calorie day, but not much, and it's easier to stick to the up day calories as well because the DDs are more moderate. How's your week going on the 700-900?

Four pounds is great! I'm still not rotating at all, but have cut my snacking and drastically reduced sugar and wheat, and am focusing on NOT getting into that deprivation feeling that so often detours my intentions. I'm feeling less bloated and much less achy and sore (darn that sugar for doing that to me) so that is my incentive for now.

Way to go everyone for finding the thing that works best for you in this particular moment. We can do this!

Wow 4 # in 10 days is super great!

I have been doing my way since Nov. 1. My high so far was 115.75, most of my days i was 115. Today it said 113.5 so I guess I am not at goal

The first thing I said to myself this morning when i got off the scale is "no more dieting I can eat whatever I want" That just cannot happen or my weight will be up and away again!

We all work just too darn hard to put it back on!

I will stick to my plan the rest of the month. And I will plan some lower DD before and after Thanksgiving.

Thanks ever so much for starting this thread, I had no idea I was not the only one doing JUDDD but with higher numbers for both UD and DD.

I wish everyone here continued success!

I'm doing okay. I think I've lost about 1 lb since I started back. It's a lot tougher this go round, although I didn't gain that much back. Good job on 4 lbs in 10 days!!!

*pops out of lurkdom to say hi!*

I think I may join y'all in the 1000/2000 rotations. I started tracking again, but really just as a "this is how you eat and why it is what it is" (who said anything about dieting? ) But after reviewing my tracker, I do need to be more diligent and start eating less

I think fasting not just for weight loss, but for health benefits, is probably what I need to do. It just feels *right*. KWIM?

I was doing a fast-5 sort of thing back at the end of the summer - felt pretty good but fell off the wagon (i blame the new cappuccino machine at work. It's deliciously evil). I'm ready to go back

Carly...perimenopause can start at any age...I started at 35:/ plus with what you have shared on other posts about your sporadic cycle I would almost bet it's your hormones but, unfortunately nothing ever shows up on tests unless you are full blown menopausal since I cut out all grain and sugar my hormones have become stable good luck!!

I've been doing complete fasting DD's, but this past Saturday was a MD as I was in Atlantic City. Trying to head into the holiday/vacation on a positive note.

Katie, I second Lisa's comment about your cute picture. I too want to get back to fasting as much for the health benefits as the weight loss. I know it's done so much for me, and I don't want to lose it all/get it back!

Lisa, how would you say your fasting DDs are vs normal low days? Easier? Harder? Energy? I'm curious!

I have really two reasons to do this - one, well because health is cool and two...WEDDING DRESS.

To which, yes I already have it. In the closet.

And it's a size 16

I find my fasting DDs easier honestly. I don't feel that there is a difference in my energy, but I honestly don't feel the hunger that I get when I eat something and then start thinking about when I can eat again. It's cut down on the amount of money I've been spending on groceries which is great.

Typically I don't start feeling hunger until around 6 or 7 and I try not to eat after 7 usually so that works out great. I have noticed that I wake up the next morning feeling more refreshed than usual so I'm wondering if that's been an added benefit.

Today, I am about to eat some oatmeal though and that will be it. I was helping a friend move yesterday and along with packing for vacation I didn't eat my calories so today has been rough. I'm having difficulty focusing on my work so I'll eat half a package of oatmeal and just keep the fluids coming.

I'm intrigued by this thread (gonna read up on the higher numbers) as I need to get back on JUDDD as low carb is keeping me at my highest yet! I'm with you LoCarbGal, I will be keeping the sugar and wheat out of my diet as that is what help with my arthritis but will be upping my veggie carbs. I'm going to be doing 1700/700.

I look forward to reading about your success!
