chia seeds?

To those who use them --Do they help keep you full longer? What are your favorite DD recipes or concoctions using chia seeds?

Thanks!

I just recently started both JUDDD and also recently started experimenting with chia seeds. I made some chia pudding and found that only half a cup or so at lunchtime kept the hunger away for quite a while (1 cup almond milk, 3Tablespoons chia seeds, a packet or two of splenda, a half teaspoon of vanilla, let soak an hour or two. Makes enough for 2 servings). It keeps well for a couple of days in the fridge. You can either use the whole seeds or put the whole mixture in the blender to grind the seeds depending on how you like the texture.

Not for DD but they were really good added whole to pancakes, about 1 Tablespoon per cup of mix.

I'm looking for more ideas too.

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
At 60 or more calories per tablespoon, I don't find I get enough satisfaction from them to warrant their use on a DD. We're all different, but I'd rather have a big bowl of zoodles with pasta sauce for the same calories.

I made a chia pudding when I was trying WW and although it was good, it didn't keep me full. But they're good for you and on an UD, I'd have no problem throwing some in a smoothie.

Now my YoCheese Pudding - that keeps me pretty darn satisfied on a DD.

They don't always fill me up right away, but (oddly) the day after I eat them I usually feel less hungry. So I have them on Up Days, and that works out with the calories. I *do* mix them with gelatin, so there's a chance that it's actually the gelatin working as an appetite suppressant...or the combination. This combo is actually the reason I started doing JUDDD again; I made it sort of randomly and the next day I didn't feel like eating at all, so I just made it a Down Day!

One batch is: 2 pkg SF Jell-O, 2 T chia seeds, 4T non-thickening gelatin (optional, but it's very nutritious), divided into 1-cup servings.

Any ad or article about chia seeds raves on about how they absorb "12 times their own weight in water", "expand to 3 times their original size" or something.... The thing is, the seeds are so tiny to begin with that they're still pretty tiny after soaking. If they blew up to the size of peas, then eating a spoonful *might* be enough to help your stomach feel full. But, they don't!

It might be, but the one I used was from another site. Not sure if I can post it, it's a WW site. Google "green" "lite" and "bites". It was really pretty good, a chocolate one.
