Carly, breathe and enjoy a break from routine and break. I will pray that all goes well.
Hugs.

PJ and I walked for what seemed like miles. A beautiful night. Warm, low humidity, calm winds. Just gorgeous. I love weather blessings.
Now, a biscuit for him, a bath for me and then a good book and bed.

Cici, I hope everything goes well and the stone dissolves (?). Take care of yourself and try not to stress overmuch.

Carly, I hate that you're having to deal with the pain without a good antidote, if that's the right word. I know you're looking forward to going to Fla, and if a hotel is less stressful, it might even be more fun!

Pat, your walk sounds heavenly. I walked this morning and the weather was very nice, but I was in such a hurry to get back home so that I could get ready for work that I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted. Maybe I'll have more time in the morning, but definitely this weekend.

Carly -I will have to google fast 5. And yes, we definitely felt doubtful also - but the herbs really did help. Its inexpensive enough to try that a month-6 weeks won't hurt..right? Hugs.

Cici - ick. I had a kidney stone last month (or earlier this month?) I would rather have a baby. Hope the sound therapy works (assuming thats what route they are taking?)...

I think I have discovered something to get me back on track for DD's. The swimsuit! For those of you who don't know, I bought a swimsuit at a thrift store right before embarking on this journey - early March.
Now I totally expected it to fit, maybe even be roomy. Imagine my shock (and horror) when I tried it on 6 weeks ago and it wouldn't even come up past my belly!
I put it down in the 'stow away' pile thinking that maybe later this summer I'd be able to put it on..if not, maybe next year.

Long story short - I tried it on last week and though snug - I was able to put it on all the way and if I wanted to could wear it swimming. So, for my DD tomorrow. I dont care how uncomfy it is nor how stupid I look..I am wearing my swimsuit all day long.

It will be the best motivator to stay on track...I hope.

Now I feel like I want to pull out my swimsuit!

Going to a shelter to look at a puppy this afternoon. Her picture is calling to me. So, of course, I am in a frenzy, thinking of someone else swooping in to get what I am already thinking of as OUR new dog!

Her name is Snickers!

We had a beautiful Rottie mix that we got the weekend before Halloween one year. With his gorgeous chocolate/peanut butter colored markings, we named him Reeses. Good luck getting your Snickers!

If I named a dog after a candy, I would be thinking about candy day and night.

A group of my friends and I are fostering a shelter puppy. My friend has the dog at her house and we are chipping in for the vet bills. I am so excited to be able to participate.

Our dog (mine, not the foster) is a rescue and part of his emotional damage has made it very hard for us to integrate a new dog into the family, much less a temporary one.

Yam-Yam - very touching photos of your grandchildren - the pictures really capture the devastation

Carly - Hope you feel better and have a good trip.

Cici - Fingers crossed that the treatment works and you will be stone free.

Kati - Very funny. If it works why not.

Sirtain - Hope you get the puppy. Snickers is an awesome name - not a bad chocolate bar either

Cici, I hope the treatment does the job. Kidney stones HURT!!!

Pat, that walks sounded so lovely! Lucky PJ and lucky you!

Kati, I love your swimsuit idea!

Sirtain, I hope you get Snickers! I want to see pics!

EmmaLiza, how great to be a part of the fostering! As for your pup, some are just destined to be only dogs. But then you get 100% of each other's attention that way.

"Mom, are we going swimming?"
"No."
*strange look*

"I am wearing the swimsuit because today is my down day, and its a good reminder for me not to eat."
*silence*
"Ok. Mom."

lol Let's hope my husband is as easily pleased with my answer.

Husband likes when I exercise, just not the diet thing.
and as for pics? That is a big "NO".
lol
I actually don't even know how to get them from the camera on to the internet without facebook. I stay technologically dumb on purpose.

Snickers & Reeses..lol. DELICIOUS names for doggies! Sirtain, I hope Snickers is waiting there for you as her new forever mommy.
Sea, I am happy about clear lungs. I haven't followed along on your journey, but any bit of health for someone makes me thankful for them.

Well, off to explore the boards before I start all my chores for the day..plus, keep me from eating. I told myself I can eat something at 6 - 5.5 hours to go!

My dog groomer of 7 years had an 'off' day today.
Poor PJ.............one ear's hair is about an inch longer than the other
I hate when someone I have a relationship with lets me down. I take it way too personally. We've always been friendly and I am a very good tipper.
I am NOT confrontational so I will suck it up and find a new groomer.
I am so disappointed and kinda mad.
It also feels as tho' he wasn't rinsed well after his shampoo.
I am going to put him in the tub and re-bathe him.
He has Addison's so I hate to add any stress to him, but I am afraid he will get itchy if I don't rinse him.
UGH

Hate that, Pat. I had a disappointing trip to my hair stylist last month and it really bothered me too. I will not be going back to her, although I really like how she cuts and colors. She changed her pricing on me after I had finished with my appt., although the prices were still the same in writing. So, I will have to find someone else next month. Hate that you didn't get the service you deserved too.

Sea, so glad you had a good report on your lungs. Where are you going on vacay again?

I am fixing Kale for the first time tonight. I plan to saute it in garlic and olive oil with a finish of a dash of red wine vinegar. If I like it, which I think I will, it might become a staple.

Ok.
It involved peanut butter.

Tomorrow (after my trip to the store for celery and low cal foods) will be my down day.

It was golden until I stripped off the swim suit!

I just love kale so much! I make it exactly like you described only instead of vinegar I add a little chicken broth (bouillon) to steam it. Savory and tasty. I may have to try it your way, or with lemon like Kati mentioned. YUM!

I really like PB, but it can sit in the pantry undisturbed for months sometimes lol.

My Kale was not as good as I'd hoped. I didn't cut the stems out...I cut the long stems but left the middle stems with the leaves. Next time I'll just cook the leaves. LCG, I did use chicken broth, but added a dash of vinegar at the end of cooking.

Someone else got Snickers before me.

Good news for your x-ray, Seabreeze. I'm sure it is a relief. I know how I feel when there is a 'maybe' about my health.

Our local pool is opening this weekend. Maybe I should be wearing my suit around the house today, for inspiration.

Everyone has an off day now and then. I tend to give a second chance before I move on to someone else, 'cause you never know what people are dealing with.

Looks like we will get our first peas, zucchini, and turnips from the garden this weekend. I am very excited about it!

LADIES with hair issues--dog or human--I encourage you to go back to your groomer/stylist first and ask for a correction.

Pat, if you go as soon as you realize there's a problem, like the next morning, she can do all that work and save your back. Dog groomers don't make a lot of money and losing a client can make a difference. If she gives you a hard time, yeah, fire her! But if she's smart and values the relationship, she will fix it.

Cindy, in your case, with the pricing, I can see how you would want to change, but maybe you can tell her why. I have a good friend who wants to start seeing my stylist but is hesitant because a stylist she used to go to (and just dropped without explanation because he made her mad) works at the same salon and she doesn't want to run into him.

Just my nosy suggestions. Regards and lots of love to you both!!!
