Returning to JUDDD

Hi all,

I am finally returning to JUDDD - after about 15 months of gaining back most of the weight I lost in 2012. Lost about 60 pounds over 2012 - first 14 pounds were from LC (which stopped working!) and next 46 of which was through JUDDD from March to December. My weight loss was slow because I refused to keep strictly to the plan - way too many UUAD days, not counting calories, not sticking to LC (which I need), 2 UDs in a row etc, etc. I still miraculously kept losing even though it was slow, which I had never managed before in a healthy way.

In Feb 2013 I started a new job which I was afraid would put me off course (long hours, stress etc) and I have let that happen! Now I have the same work problems but am 47 pounds heavier!

I have been trying to get back on Low Carb Friends but have been resisting for months! Posting my weight worked for me before so I am committing to posting daily this month on the April thread.

By the way, I live in Dublin, Ireland and have 2 sons aged 10 and 13 - I am trying to help all the family to eat better as my 10 year old has gained weight! I mainly lurked last time around because I am a bit shy but I plan to try to be a bit more active this time!

Sorry for long post and well done to so many who are still here and doing well.

Dee

Dee. I remember you. back!

It's so true that the other stressors in our lives are still going to be there, whether or not we have gained or lost weight. I have every faith that you'll get right back to where you want to be. JUDDD works, and you've done it before with success. Jump right back in, and we'll be here, rooting for you.

back, Dee!! I'm also one who took most of 2013 off due to stress and tragedies. I gained back a bunch of what I had lost, but came back to JUDDD on January 1st and have taken off or re-taken off I mean 15.4 pounds so far.

We are on our way! So glad to have you back and me back and I know we can reach our goals in 2014!

Hi Dee,
I too am back to JUDDD recently after a long hiatus. And wow, our stories sound way too familiar. I too had struggled with way too many UUAD's (a lot of binge eating issues that I still struggle with), not counting calories on my UDs, needing to stay more low carb, etc. And like you I have a very stressful job that makes any diet difficult for me. ( my stress comes I the fact that I travel 50% of the time, so being on the road, eating out for a week at a time, and just pure exhaustion from my schedule is tough to deal with). But like you, despite all of this, I was able to lose weight. So I too am back! I'm still struggling to count cal's on my UD's. But at least I had a solid 2 weeks with no UUAD'S. I'm trying to keep as LC as I can. But so far that's been harder for me than the DD's.
Anyways, I look forward to talking more with you since we share such similarities! Good luck!

back Dee! I remember you too, and I'm so glad you've come back!

Today is my JUDDD re-start after a month break. Let's do this!

I'm sorry you had so much stress, and it sure can affect weight loss efforts. It seems like there's only so much mental energy to go around sometimes. But you're right, you still have the stress and now the added weight too, so you know what to do, and you're doing it!

Good luck!

Hi Dee! I remember you! back. I can relate to your post ... I also got a new job and gained some back too. I've been reading about how stress is not the friend of weight loss! Anyway, let's get back in the groove together.

Sorry for the slow reply - our internet was out yesterday! Thanks again for all the encouragement, it is great to see so many familar faces and very encouraging that so many are suceeding fast or slow!

I need to be brave and come up with some kind of picture / avatar! It makes it easier to remember people for me!

I also feel so much closer to postets with a face. Still, I understand those who prefer to be more anonymous or can't upload a pic for tech reasons.

Dee, lovely to have another European JUDDD BUDDD back on board.

You'll soon be back into the swing of things and see these pounds disappearing.

haha! I'm not a "natural" red head...used to be light brown in my youth. Every color I put on my head turns red now, though. <shrug> Your hair color looks beautiful girl! Too bad we don't live closer. I'm am south of Flint-town, on the way to A2.
