You probably didn't change the kg to lb and the cm to in. We've all done that! For you at 20% an Little to no exercise, I get 371/1856. Considerably less.

Like I said before, as long as you're losing, stick with what you're doing. If you slow or stall, you can try adjusting down 100 or 200 a day and see what happens. But at least you know what the calculator gives you.

I made it! Finished the day with No-oodles. A whole pkg. Hope I don't pay dearly for that. At least I'm going to bed full on a DD.

I agree with these figures, LCG but, HaveFaith - if you're losing, do what you're doing until it stops and then adjust in line with LCG/Carol's advice.

Today was an UD for me, and I realized that I'm not as hungry as I expected. Even after a couple of days, I can tell my appetite is not as crazy as it used to be.

I also had a couple of questions...tomorrow (Friday) is supposed to be a DD, but I have a lunch that I planned way in advance and the place we're going isn't very 'healthy' or 'low-calorie'. I'll try to keep it as low as possible, yet I easily see myself hitting at around 800-1000. What would that be count as? And would I still do my UD on Saturday?

Also, I see UUAD and EOD popping up a lot, but have no idea what they stand for. Would someone be kind enough to clarify? hehe...

This may be useful to you: acronyms??? UUAD is Up, Up and Away Day when someone eats more than their scheduled UD allowance. For some people, it just means breaching their allowance, others mean they went over by 300-500kcals, for others yet it might mean double their planned UD intake. There's no fixed definition so I'm not sure if it's an emotional rather than kcal assessment. It normally implies an involuntary loss of control of the food intake.

EOD is Every Other Day aka Alternate Day or Day On, Day Off.

Keep Friday within bounds for the rest of the day but do not try and catch the kcals back - keep to your normal rotation.

delyn: I agree with SlowSure. I would say count a 800-1000 day as a high DD and then stick to regular rotations until/unless you have a need to change rotation days.

If you want, you can go back to Dr. J's calculator and look at different % numbers, like 35%, 40% and up. See where your calorie intake fits and if it's still "WLM" count it as a DD.

Dr. J says he believes there is some SIRT1 activation going on even at 75% kcal intake.

You are doing great!

WOE: IF/ JUDDD
switching days?

So, when I started JUDDD this week I forgot that I had dinner plans for Friday and Sunday. Right now they're both allotted as DDs.
I'd like to change them to UDs. The problem is, it's already Thursday and I'm well on my way to eating all of allotted UD calories today.

It looks like I'd have to have two UDs in a row (today and tomorrow). This would in turn change Saturday into a DD, and Sunday into an UD.

My question is, how often do people switch up rotations mid-week if something comes up? Have you still had success doing this?

I'm thinking that in order for this WOE to be sustainable long term, I'll need to have the freedom to switch things up if needed.

I'm in the middle of my two week induction phase. I'm guessing that two UDs in a row during my first week would stop my body from producing the magical SIRT1 thingy? Anybody know how that works?

I think just having the 2 UDs in a row is the way to go. In the long run, it won't make that much difference. We all have things like this pop up, and you just have to roll with it. That said, you don't want to roll with it like that too often!

I'm no scientist, and probably have a pretty weak grasp of exactly how the whole SIRT thing works, but from what I've read, you build them up slowly until they hit critical levels and stay there. It takes a couple of weeks of no rotating at all to lose all the SIRTS, so 2 UDs in a row will not hurt you there.

Have fun!

Since it's still your first week, having two UDs in a row may slow down the activation of the SIRT1 gene. But hey, you gotta live life! That's what is so great about this WOE.

Have a great DD on Saturday and another one on Monday and get right back into your rotations.

After 2 or 3 weeks you will have those sirtuins flowing and doing their magic!

ah yes, that link definitely helped!

as I was working out my calories, I realized that even if I have a higher DD today, or even MD, that with my next DD on Sunday everything should be averaging out to be 1,400 cal, which is where I want to be. Why didn't I discover this WOE before?! It feels so much more relaxing and freeing compared to trying to restrict everyday...

I guess I'll jump in here. I have been reluctant to post because I have "announced" myself as back on JUDDD before, but then just slinked (slunk?) off. I decided to wait until I had some time in before saying anything this time.

I am in my 5th week, I am down a little more than 7 lbs, and have been lurking around on your board so I figured I would finally speak up.

I used to JUDDD back when it was just thread on "Other Plans" but I let myself gain quite a bit back after a surgery and a new job.

Right now I am doing DDs M, W & F and staying pretty high on my calories. I'll ride that as long as it works and adjust later if I need to.

It's not wise to have 2 DDs in a row, but if it worked for you make tomorrow An up day for sure.

I have tried JUDDD before but didn't really stick with it. I hope I can post in here since I'm starting again and really going to make an effort to stick with the rotations this time.

My first DD was yesterday and it went well. I ended up at just under 400 calories. All I can say is thank goodness for Shirataki noodles! I can feel like I'm eating something but without all the extra calories. I was able to drop a few pounds of water weight in the first day, which is good as I was feeling quite bloated. Today is my first UD and I think I'm sort of in disbelief that I can eat regular food as long as I stick to my calorie roof. (I was on Stillman's before, and I'm sure you all know how restrictive it is!)

Nice to meet you all!
