Flossy, that sounds delicious and healthy. Can you share your recipe for muesli? What is bio yogurt?

Popping in after pretty much blowing off March and half of April... no Judding... weight gain... no surprise.

I'm gearing up for a return to JUDDD come May 1 - which was my start date last year.

Weight is down 2 pounds after 2 good DDs... now to continue.

Hello everyone!

I use a mixture of Really Nutty and Fantastically Fruity mueslis from Dorset Cereals, a UK brand.

Bio yogurt is just live yogurt. Yeo Valley is my favourite brand but might not be available outside the UK. I use full fat plain organic live yogurt in my muesli. It's naturally sweet and creamy.

I'm sure you'll have some equivalent American brands you can use. Untoasted muesli should always be soaked. The enzymes break down the starches and turn them into simple sugars, which also sweeten your muesli. Cereal should never be eaten raw, as it's hard to digest. I give it at least 30 mins with warm water. Overnight in the fridge with cold water makes for a very sweet muesli. You can use milk overnight too for extra enzyme action.

Welcome back Goner!

Welcome back, Goner!

FlossyLiz, you make that muesli sound awfully good, and I dislike cereals of all kinds, so that's sayin' something!

I have bought hand made muesli from a shop and I ate it with milk. I think it was already toasted...it was expensive, so I thought you might have a recipe. I did look up some recipes, but after buying all those seeds and dried fruit, nuts, etc., it would end up pretty darn expensive.

I am throwing together a soup, and decided to just toss the odds and ends of bones that I had in the freezer: one lamb, one beef, one pork. It is making for a very strange smelling broth.

It's all good, ATM, but I'm very aware of my past behaviors and what can easily happen if I become too lax. Thanks, though! I appreciate the support!

Negativity?

So, rotten day at work. Some people I busted my butt for yesterday, and who I thought left quite satisfied, were really rather insulting today. And telling me they hope I wasn't offended really didn't soften the blow. When they did finally come back, I refused to see them. And I won't ever see them again so I guess they better hope they don't need help on a day when I'm the only one there. I know that sounds dramatic, but you'll just have to take my word for it that its deserved without going into the whole story.
So here's my question. Why did this one thing ruin my whole day? I had 2 very grateful clients today, that I was also going above & beyond for, who are grateful. At my house I have a lovely azalea plant & a balloon, the card on our bulletin board and $40 in Domino's gift cards for a staff lunch all from one grateful client. Rationally I know I can't please everyone.
So why does this one "bad apple" ruin my whole bunch? Why am I focusing on this one donkey hole instead of the multitude of people I've helped who are grateful? And mostly why am I letting this ruin my whole day and now into my evening?
I'm sure I"ll be over it by tomorrow but tonight, I'm pretty hurt & pissed off.
Anyway, sorry, just needed to vent. Frustrated!!!

Oh! Yennie, I know just what you mean. I had a GOOD review of my work after I had been in this job only a few months, and of course there were also suggestions. So what did I focus on? The parts I wasn't doing as well! It actually really got to me. Argh. Why do we do that? I think awareness that we are doing it is a good thing, then talking some sense into ourselves. I love that you thought of all those other positive things and realized that there is good feedback coming in ... more positive than negative, but even in the negative situation it sounds like you had tried your best, so that is all you can do. We can't and never will be perfect or meet everyone's expectations, and that is OK!

Yennie, I can be hard on myself, too.
I really try to keep a balanced view and when things are going smoothly that is always easier, but is more crucial when things are tougher. I try not to give into the negativity and just monitor my behViors and reactions. I can't control what other do, but I can control my reaction.

Yennie, it happens to the best of us. I hope today is a better day.

Hi All! Hope you're all doing well. I meant to check in last night, but I passed out early.

Off to the dentist then Bachelorette activities. So not looking forward to that. It's safe to say that when this wedding is over on Friday I am taking a loooooooong "friendship break" from Bridezilla and I cannot wait. I'm a person that gives so much of myself to other people, but I absolutely acknowledge that for her I haven't done a thing to help with her wedding. I just haven't wanted to because she's so awful. The last few weeks have been awful and it has taken all that I have not to flip out on her. I am thankful that my relationship with the MOH has strengthened as a result of all the madness though.

Sirtain, your broth sounds intriguing. So.....how was it?

Melinda, I get it about being at the higher end of comfortable. And the slippery slope is a familiar landscape around here. Just your being conscious of it and holding it in control is great.

Jen, it's really hard not to let the negative overshadow the good. I think that's natural for most of us. But please do focus on the clients that truly appreciate you and show it. I've been that client, the one my vet and her staff went over and above for, and I tried to always let them know. I would hate it if I thought that they weren't able to "see" how much I appreciated them because of some loser who had nothing but bad to say.

Lisa, I'm so glad that will be over soon. Not soon enough, I'll bet! Sounds like a "friendship break" is definitely in order.

It's cool and cloudy here this morning, and we may even get some rain today. I hope so! I've got lots to do today, but I'm going to take the time to sit down and really savor my mug of Coffee/HWC out on the patio. After my workout and shower that is. Better get moving!

(((Yennie))) I have always been guilty of that same feeling. It comes from never feeling good enough, I think. <shrug> You are great at what you do, a compassionate and wonderful person and appreciated by so many. Try to let it go girl. I know it's hard. (don't make me sing that Frozen song to you!) hehe

Lisa, I'm glad that dumb wedding is almost over for you!

Dawn, ack, so annoying, isn't it? Of course, I know what I need to do to fix the problem completely, but am not ready to reign things in tightly just yet. I am hoping to do that for May!

Tks, LCG! <muah> Enjoy your coffee girl!

Sunny but chilly here today. have had more stuff with the oldest lately but am hoping it's calming down a bit for this week. Found out my MRI results yesterday, too. The news is not good. Tricompartmental osteoarthrosis with bone on bone articulation. (amongst the other lingo) Turning 45 and need knee replacement. Crazy stuff.

Creeping in after the most wonderful 4 weeks with DD, but boy does it show! And we leave for Peru on Wednesday...

So much has happened and I can't begin to catch up. I am sorry for all those with health issues, wonder how Slow's hands are, Melinda how shocking for you to be facing a knee replacement at your young age.

Please forgive me for not mentioning all of you, but you know I care.

132 this morning, having my first DD in forever, feels great.

Welcome back, Cindy! Missed you!

Melinda - knee replacement? argh. I can just imagine that news was not what you were hoping to hear. My Mom had it done, and I won't pretend the recovery was a piece of cake, but now she is pain-free! It is actually pretty amazing what they can do these days. I'm sorry that's the recommendation, but hope that afterwards you feel so much better.

Popping in to say hi really quickly.

Keira had 2 softball games this morning, and it rained, but they didn't call either game. Her team won both! So far her team's tied for first in the league. Even though she's not the best player on her team, I'm learning she's better than the best on some other teams!

Today's my wedding anniversary. We had a huge lunch, and I'm sure I'm already over my calories for the day. Still have dinner, drinks, and dancing coming up, so today's a wash. I may just fast a day or two this coming week to compensate. Love JUDDD, even though I'm not currently rotating. What great tools we have to deal with "life events!"

Sorry about the knee, Flutter.

Hi Kissa, nice to "see" you. Have more fun on your travels......

Lisa, doesn't sound like fun times. I just don't understand some people...

Yennie, glad you are a lot happier today. I know you do your absolute best. It is their loss, not yours.

Such a busy thread. Thanks for the welcome back.

Mel - sorry about the knee results - but you are young enough to bounce back quickly.

Happy Anniversary Dawn.

Carol- coffee on the patio, makes me jealous - 45 this AM - too cold to have my coffee outside, but I did lunch on the deck yesterday when it hit high 60s.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I'm sorry to pop in and complain but I am feeling really down right now. I have missed UD and DD since I got this kidney stone thurs. night.
The olive oil lemon juice I am drinking is probably 700 calories alone and I am doing that 3x a day. I need to pass this thing. At night the pain is the worst!

Can any of you tell me how yours went?

I can't shake the feeling I am undoing all my progress. I am drinking a lot of water and lemon juice and eating a almond flour sf brownie I made. Have curried lentils planned for dinner. Plus the 2100 calories oil drink.
Ugh.
Any words of advice/encouragement?

Party, I can only send big big hugs.

I have never had stones but it sounds as if you are doing all the right things. Don't worry about the calories, you have to look after your health first and foremost. There will be time to get back to the plan. We always say, this is not a race.

I am trying to eat really sensibly and plan to try the same thing while travelling this time. I will have as many DDs as possible and I will not allow myself to go mad with food and wine. I need to remind myself that hunger is not an emergency, and that food will always be there.

I also need to come here while travelling whenever I have Wifi. I may start a new thread to keep myself accountable.

Did your doctor recommend that oil drink? I have never heard of such a thing for kidney stones and I've had them. I actually had to have surgery to have a stent put in so I could pass the stone. The stone was painful and so was the surgery, but once the stone passed I felt much better and once the stent was removed I felt 100%.

I didn't have to eat or drink anything different during the process other than cranberry juice.

If your doctor recommended the oil drink that continue with it, but I'm just not sure how that would help the process- but I'm not a doctor so disregard if a doctor recommended it.

Hope you feel better soon.
