LOL@foot peas.
Ironic, DH adn I were just discussing the big V. I need to find ways to be more persuasive. I do not want to have to drive one of those airport shuttle vans!

Slow- I have hand issues also. Robs me of knitting like I use to. Hope you feel better soon.

Today on my DD I drank a 200 cal energy drink..Held off all day and now I am oinked on 3 bs chicken thigh filets, a half small cabbage, and a handful of mushrooms in soy and splenda with some butter.

I calculated that I am over about 20 cals from the 684 daily I was given. I'm done eating!

I actually love JUDDD LC.

Pof7, my DH has been wanting to get it done for quite some time, so there wasn't much persuasion needed, but it has been surprisingly easy and no complications (fingers crossed there are none). We only have one child, so we won't be driving a van any time soon, but we are happy with our family the size it is.

After a rough start to our trip to Arizona, luggage arriving 12 hours after we did! We had a nice first day, had to make a slight change in plans to pick up our luggage, but we ended up going out on the Apache Trail in my parents new ATV.

And then tried Organ Stop Pizza for dinner. Heard about this place on the Food Network and we were skeptical at first but the pizza turned out to be really good and the organ music was really neat. Didn't know what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised.

Today we will be going to Easter lunch with some other family.

Hope everyone has a nice Easter.

Happy Sunday, Easter and Passover. I hope those who are having family celebrations today are having a wonderful time.

I didn't buy any Easter bunnies yesterday, but they certainly looked yummy! My hubby said thank you!

I'm roasting a boneless leg of lamb. I used to do one on the barbeque that was wonderful, but I don't have a real barbeque in the condo so will use the oven. Should smell good!

Hugs for ALL

DW and I saw Heaven is for Real. It was quite good, but I highly recommend bringing tissues. The little boy in that movie was extremely cute.

I need book recommendations for our trip to Florida in May. I'm interested in fiction and non-fiction recommendations.

I'm not really picky, but for this vacation I'd like something that is light (emotionally speaking) and a real page turner- can't put it down kind of book.

Happy Easter to everyone, a day late! I was so busy cooking and eating I didn't even get near technology most of the weekend.

foot peas! Dawn, I'm glad DH is having an easy time of it.

Sea, how was your leg of lamb? Ours was the best one ever, I think. Not at all gamey and so flavorful! There will be lamb soup/stew tomorrow.

Mike, you and your daughter look great! She's a beauty. And you've got some nice guns! All that hard work in the gym really shows.

I don't think today is going to be a DD. And tomorrow I have a birthday lunch out with a friend and Easter leftovers. Wednesday will be back to business!

Leg of lamb was yummy. We will also have leftovers!

Off to play duplicate bridge shortly. It is a drippy day here with no sign of the sun. Not our typical weather, but we always need the rain.

Trying for a DD today........it is still early here though!

Have a great JUDDD day everyone.

I really love Marian Keyes books also for light, funny, page turning time - Carly.

I didn't do as bad as I thought yesterday! I ate about 3000 calories - which is about what I should be gettiing anyways on my UD.
I am just happy, I think I have found something I can do, and maintain.
Combined with eating sugar free and wheat free, and cutting off toxic people out of my life - I feel like such a new person.
<3 I think you peoples are stuck with me. LOL

I hope those who celebrate had a beautiful Easter yesterday. Tonight begins the last holy night of the week for us.

Having my first DD in about 3 weeks. Something like that.

Decided to be brave and hop on the scale Saturday morning and was surprised I was only up 2.5 pounds from my low. Weighed again yesterday and it was down another pound for no reason. So, did I only gain 1.5 pounds in 3 weeks? Then this morning it was back up 1.5 more, so it looks like I'm up 3 pounds from my lowest, after a DD, before I left.

I did eat a lot yesterday and there was a lot of salt in what I ate! So, some of today's 1.5 must be fluid retention.

I'm planning to have a good, controlled, LOW DD today. Fingers crossed I can stick to my plan!

Then we shall see what the old scale says tomorrow and I'll take that as my official post-vacay, post-week of grand kids and not enough sleep week weight!

Sorry if I'm blabbing incoherently. It's only 11 a.m. and I feel like I need a nap!

We took the kids back home late in the day yesterday. DD looks much better, but still weak.

She spent the night in the hospital Friday night. They had to re-hydrate her again intravenously and give her an intravenous iron infusion because she is anemic.

Hopefully the teenagers will be a help and not a headache for her this week. I have jury duty tomorrow. I'm hoping I won't get picked. I have served on a jury before and the trial dragged on for days and it was no fun.

Told DD if I don't get picked for jury duty, I'll come to her house to do laundry for her and some grocery shopping and cooking.

I love vintage fiction, so for some reason, Dorothy Gilman popped into my head. Her books are short, interesting, and not in a series, so you can read any of them without the others. I loved A Nun in the Closet, but have read all and really like. They are available as paperbacks and audio.

Another fave vintage author is Mary Stewart--not the Arthurian series, but the stand-alone romance/mystery/adventure ones. Light reading, but very atmospheric and strong female characters. Paperbacks.

A favorite contemporary series is Alan Bradley's Flavia de Luce set. Read the first one first, if possible, because it sets up the family dynamic. These are mysteries with a lot of humor. Kindle or any format.

Great pic of you and your daughter, Mike! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time too.

Carly, you could search the JB Book Club thread (one I started a long time ago) for suggestions too, but you've gotten some good here as well I see.

I had an okay weekend...feeling a little blah and dissatisfied with things somewhat. It's complicated. I really hope I start feeling better soon. Anyway, I surely should count my blessings, and I have many.

I can relate! Quite a stressful weekend at my house so things have been more like MD, UD, MD around here. (including today, oy) Oh well....at least Juddd is patient.

Mike: What great pictures! Thanks for sharing them.

All: Thankfully I don't have to go for jury duty. Yay! But I am heading over to DDs to do laundry, clean her house and grocery shopping/cooking. She is very weak. Has to go to hospital for more blood tests today and then back to the doctor tomorrow. I'll be driving kids to and from 3 different schools. I need some energy!

Still feeling very tired for some reason. Maybe I'm too old to deal with teens and chase around a 5 year old day and night for a week. ha! ha! My house is still in disarray but no time to deal with it right now.

Ugh. Just got a call from my sister while writing this. My BIL (husband of sister who died) was taken to the hospital. They found cancer in both his hips. Feeling so sad right now. He is in a lot of pain.

Well, I gotta go. I might be at DDs for two days helping her.

Hugs to you all.

So sorry to hear the news about your BIL, Yam. Take care of yourself too while you're busy taking care of others.

My mother was taken to the hospital this morning with chest pains. This is the second time in 4 days. They didn't find anything wrong with her heart, but think she may have fallen or bumped into something and bruised or fractured her ribs. She has dementia and does not remember if she hurt herself. She is supposed to call for the nurse to go to the bathroom, but tries to go by herself 90% of the time. They gave her something for pain and she seemed fine by the time I left, and in good spirits.
