UD Thursday - Whatcha HAvin'?

B: LC Protein Bar
S: Beef Jerky with cheese
L: Salad
S:
D: Hot wings and a salad

How obvious is it that I've combined LC with JUDDD LoL! I've been kinda weird on food, so I've needed a little more "freedom" to eat a few extra calories if I was short on low cal food.

My grandmother is in the hospital and is sick to a point where we are just "waiting".Of course they are still trying everything, but it's a lot that can't be repaired. They're saying her lungs are very scarred from having bad pneumonia long ago, plus she's now had it three times since last year. That plus Congestive heart failure, COPD, fluid and infection in her lungs, diabeties, and also she's almost 90.. they can't easily go in and fix these things because of stroke and heart attack risk. They're still trying to get strength back up, but the lung specialists said she could go at anytime. She had 11 people visit her yesterday, and that's not uncommon - she's been in there for two weeks, visitors come every day, and theire all optimistic - she's a fighter! My mom has been with her 24/7 just about, and mamaw says she looks sicker than her LOL!! She's still herself and I'm thankful for that. She's still fussing at her 50-60 year old kids, telling them to stop arguing, she's still complaining about the food, she told one of the nutrionist that she thought her link sausage looked like warthog meat, she told the CNA washing her that she was washing the hide off her "lollie", and told one of the woman doctors that, she don't like no woman doctor or woman preacher.

She's a mess...

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This morning her oxygen dropped again to 83, which isn't as bad as it had dropped, but still.

When I need extra calories, I just change what I cook with - I can easily get a couple hundred calories with cooking with coconut oil. Then I may add a higher calorie snack or side. It's tough, especially if your LCing because you aren't usually that hungry.

ladybarometer, your grandmother sounds awesome, still getting the most out of life no matter what. I want to be like that!

I'm just planning today, but logging everything as I eat it, so no surprises at the end of the day. So far:

B: coffee with HWC and breakfast bar (275)
L: veg plate with cornbread (415)
D: chicken salad in a pita with lettuce & tomato (330)
S: crackers & diet coke (220)

I got rotisserie chicken salad and some pitas at the deli, so having them every UP night during the week. Enough for tonight + one more. Next week, pimento cheese. Am I southern or what?

green, for extra calories, I eat peanut butter off a spoon. When I was low carbing, I made savory fat bombs with 2 tbs peanut butter plus 1 tbs butter (all organic) and ate it with a spoon. You can nuke it for 10 seconds for an extra gooey treat.

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
Thinking about you and your grandmother LB.

B: Black coffee, NF Greek yogurt, apple
L: Banh Mi with Sriracha
D: ??

Keira has a Dr. Seuss party tomorrow and needs to bring a Dr. Seuss inspired snack. I was thinking egg salad with green food coloring for Green Eggs and Ham, but decided that's 1) too much work, and 2) too hard to transport/keep fresh. So I'm going to use a big Tootsie Roll bin (sort of fishbowl shaped) and fill it with multi-colored gold fish crackers for One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. I'll get her a small aquarium net to serve with. Am I lazy or what?!

Ended up with the leftover ribeye reheated in butter with mushrooms. Then ate 2/3's of a banh mi my boyfriend brought home. Finished the night with yogurt, cocoa, and berries.
1850 cals
