Liquid Ionic Magnesium

I was directed to the monster thread on this in the Playground (Thank you, dawnyama!), and have decided to give this a try. It's supposed to be good for a whole bunch of issues, but I'm using it for improvement in Raynaud's symptoms, vertigo, and energy mainly. This type of magnesium is NOT the type that helps with constipation.

Is anyone else using this? Thoughts, experiences?

Here's the link to the original thread on the PG: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/be...um-please.html

Me - I'm taking it but irregularly. Not noticing any changes but I tend to be a non-responder and I should probably remember to take it every day.

Thanks for that link Dawn! I had not heard of this before, but you say it treats vertigo? I'm a chronic sufferer and would give anything that helps a try. Please keep us updated with how it works for you.

Dawn--have you taken it yet? I read about your broken bottle. Have you gotten the GS yet? I still am using the same brand you got from the VS. That is where I am also getting the mag oil spray too. I also feel I am like you in that I notice nothing, not one thing different, whenever I take something. I get no energy, no zip, no zap, nothing so I don't know if what I am taking is working. And that is why I am searching for that one pill, that one magic bullet that will do *it* (whatever "it" is).

I am doing the DE, the RS, the magnesium, as well as some other supplements. Oh, also doing the ptero--saw the thread on the forum. I don't think that is working either. Cannot tell if any of them are doing anything at all

Until recently it helped control my palpitations and tachycardia. It brings my blood sugar down 15-20 points which is why I continue to take it.

That's an amazing side effect! I was planning on picking up a bottle at Vitamin Shoppe today, but now I'm definitely going to.

Dawn have you noticed any benefits yet? I'm still crossing my fingers that it will work for vertigo.

I slept through the night on Friday. That's not normal for me. Other than that, I've not noticed anything. I'm taking the GS, but it's only been a few days, and I missed yesterday's doses because we were out of town and I forgot to pack it. I used 1/2 t once the first day, 2 times the second day, missed the third day, and I've had one 1/2 t today. I'm planning on a second dose later today.

I ordered a small bottle for DH to try, it should be here this week from puritain p.

DH is tired a lot, has arthritis (???) - pain in his neck, and does not sleep well. He is not one to take meds so!!! ( MEN )!!!! I am puzzled about when he should take this. If it gives more energy how will that make him sleep better?

This will be an experience for DH.

Well, I suggested someone take it at night because my 2nd dose is at 8PM and I am forcing my eyes open at 10PM. But she took it at 4PM and could NOT sleep that night she had so much energy

I would recommend the spray for any aches and pains. My DH was having shoulder pain one night and I sprayed on the mag oil on the spot and it relieved it. I spray on the oil, take the liquid in water and take some mag caps as well. I figured I have got it all covered that way

I've written a lot in the PG thread, but let me say that my results were pretty gradual, so if you don't notice anything right away, you might need more time.

Magnesium taken in the form of powder or liquid is the only supplement I have ever taken that gave me noticeable instant results. I took the magnesium tablets for several years. No change. When I switched to the powder I slept better & deeper than I have for years, beginning the very first night. I really did not have problems sleeping before that, but it was not the same deep quality of sleep.

Just got my order this evening!

I took 1 pill - the kind for constipation! Wonder what the morning will be like, hoping for results in the smallest room of the house!

Will give dh the liquid of this in the morning, it says .8 of a teaspoon, so will give him a half teaspoon before breakfast!

I am now hearing about the powder kind, where can i buy the generic one?

Will post here sometime on Wednesday again!

I went to two different vitamin stores today looking for this, but neither carried it. One of the workers at a store told me it's just magnesium that have been added to water and people keep coming I'm to ask for it because they saw it on dr oz. haha I'm not sure why but I took offense to that.

I'm going to keep my eye on this thread and see if the rest of you have good results. If so I think I'll order the good state.

The powder kind is "Natural Calm". I use it when I have bathroom issues. Works like a charm!

I got both the pills and the liquid, I took one pill last night before bed, had results this morning and again a bit before noon!

I gave dh 1/4 teaspoon of the liquid stuff before breakfast, put it in a shot glass then filled it with water, dh said it did not taste "all that bad". it is now 12 hours since dh drank this, I just asked him how he felt, if he still had pain in his chest and neck. He said his chest did not bother him all day!!! And his neck was feeling better too, said it did not crack when he moved it!! ( he had xrays taken of his neck and his dr said he had calcium deposits ).

dh is not one to take pills, etc, so we both are pleased today! Cannot believe that we are both feeling results and so fast. dh did ask me if one could take too much and if there were any side effects!

as a side note - tv was just playing some good muisc and i said "want to dance?" And we did!!!!

I know this sounds like a fairy tale, but it is what it is! Hope and pray it continues!

I started liquid magnesium 2 days ago. I've taken magnesium pills before but had to stop because they hurt my stomach so bad. So far I haven't had any upset stomach with the liquid. My bottle says to dilute 1/2 tsp in 8 ounces of water. I use more like 16 oz. I figured the more dilute the easier my stomach would probably handle it.

I wanted to try magnesium again for my migraines and I've been having heart palpitations. I also have a lot of pain in my neck, back, and arms. TOM came yesterday and I did not get a migraine. I'm shocked and thrilled. Its too good to be true. I hope it isn't a fluke though. I did have a migraine a few days prior, which isn't my normal pattern. I guess we'll see next month but I'm very hopeful.

I didn't notice my palps last night but I was also super exhausted so maybe I just didn't notice. Time will tell. I also thought my back was a little more relaxed the first day but yesterday and today I'm real so from Sea World. I don't think any amount of magnesium can counteract rollercoasters and walking all day.

The past two days since taking the liquid magnesium I've woken around 3:30 and haven't been able to fall asleep. I'm going to try to get all 3 doses in as early as possible today and see if I can sleep better tonight.

Day 2 was Thursday - good but not as great as day 1.

I take the pills for bathroom issues and went every day so far - which is not common for me!

DH is taking the liquid, first day ( 1/4 teaspoon ) he said he had no pain in neck or else where, day 2 ( 1/4 teaspoon ) he said the neck pain was back.

Today DH took 1/2 teaspoon this morning, will post on Saturday how day 3 went for him

Day 3 was Friday, DH said he was feeling " just so, so"

Not what i was hoping to hear.

Now we are in day 4, gave dh the same as Thursday, so not sure if it is helping him or not. Said his sleeping has not changed at all.

i am still taking the mag pills for going, and those are working - I visit the smallest room in the house at least once every day now!

Yesterday was the first day I used 3 doses. After the 3rd dose, felt a little light headed and finally felt warm for the first time in days. I'm not sure it's related because I had a very active, stressful day at work, and when I'm stressed I feel warmer too.

Interestingly, I had a drop on the scale this morning. Again, it may not be related at all. At the risk of giving TMI, Bernice has not come around for a few days, so I know it wasn't that. TOM, who's been hanging around for over a month (!) gave me a break yesterday. That could be a factor in the drop as well.

So far, no improvement in Raynaud's symptoms. As a matter of fact, my hands were the worst last night that they've been in quite some time. I have 2 ulcerated chilblains and a 4 non-ulcerated. We've had warm weather, so this is a bit disconcerting.

I'll try for 3 doses again today. This might be difficult, since Keira and I will be out and about for most of the day.

I have a hypothesis; you know how we can be insulin resistant, leptin resistant, etc? Maybe we can nutrient-resistant, too.

Our cell membranes should be flexible and permeable. They are made up from fatty acids, and when we have sufficient Omega-3s, they are permeable, but when not enough Omega-3s are available, the body has to utilize Omega-6s, which results in tougher membranes. (I'm not a scientist, so I'm just re-wording something I read a couple years ago; please forgive if it's not perfectly accurate!)

I read that the following supplements improve cell elasticity:
MSM (a form of sulfur)
cinnamon
magnesium
(and of course increasing Omega3/avoiding trans fats)

Have 4 days in now, nothing is improving for dh.

But day one we both were more then thrilled, dh had got results on day 1 only!

I'm doing good with the pills i ordered for constipation - that form of magnesium is doing it's job! ( pun intended )

The magnesium doesn't seem to be helping my back pain either.

I do think it is helping my heart palps and headaches. I had an alcoholic drink last night and I don't have a headache this morning. Usually, even one drink triggers a headache for me. I'm going to keep taking it.

Day 5 is today for DH, he says he is not sure if he is feeling better or not!

It is up to him if he wants to continue

I'm doing oh so good with the mag pills

If dh stops taking the stuff, I may give it a try as i read that it sometimes helps for hearing loss!

How is everyone ?

I'm taking 3 doses per day for the last few days. Other than a little light-headedness the first day I increased the dose, it's been fine, but I'm still not noticing any benefits. As with Dawnyama and Slow Sure, I'm fairly certain I'm a "non-responder." I'm hoping this changes. I think Diamond Deb mentioned something about it taking several weeks or a few months to make a really noticeable difference.

I had a migraine last night. I'm not sure what triggered it. I'm bummed because I was hoping the magnesium would keep them away. I think I'm going to keep taking it though, for now at least.
