I am bringing soup and sauteed cabbage for lunch. A questbar for breakfast, maybe.

I have been on JUDDD for 8 weeks now... haven't lost a single pound yet. Up a couple, down a couple, same 2-3lbs, over and over. I know my UD are sometimes too high, but my DDs have been pretty good the whole time (twice I was over). But it's not like my UDs are thousands of calories over, just a few hundred sometimes. Sigh. I just keep thinking "give it time, give it time", but it is so very frustrating. My sister and I started this plan together, she started ten pounds higher than me, and now she is 15lbs lower. It's not a competition, I know, and every body is different.

I'm just REALLY trying to hang in there... mainly because nothing else has ever worked either besides extremely low cal/low carb, (<900/<20) but that isn't sustainable for me for very long, and I don't know what else to try.

Anyway, sorry for the rant... have a good day everyone, off to work for me!

Laura
You may have mentioned this already somewhere, but I don't recall. Have you verified your calories on the calculator and are you sticking to them on both UDs and DDs? Did you use the sedentary level, or a higher one? Are you tracking everything, every day? Are you eating enough? Just some quick thoughts. If you want to post your stats, I'll verify the calories on the calculator (only if you want verification).

Thanks for the replies!

I have mentioned this before... I keep hoping and waiting for it to change. I have posted all my stats and info and had it verified. I should be eating:
DD423/UD2114

I have definitely been over on both more than a few times. My actual numbers are probably more like 520/2500 on average. But I put "little or no exercise" on the calculator, but I actually work out (weights and cardio) 3-5 days a week. So it seems like it should even out?

I do track my foods... especially on DDs. For a couple weeks I backed off of the tracking (just ate exactly the same foods every DD) because I felt like it was starting to drive me insane. But I am back on tracking everything, because clearly chilling out about tracking wasn't the answer either.

I don't know what to do... there doesn't seem to be an answer. Even doctors and metabolic specialists have tried and they always come to the same conclusion: "I must be lying because it just isn't possible". I have had my thyroid checked and I don't have PCOS (the main questions I get asked next, lol).

Anyway, I don't expect anyone to have a solution, but I REALLY appreciate the support!

Sounds like you're doing everything right. Maybe try sticking to your UD number and lower your DD to as low as you can manage? The numbers on the calculator are usually pretty accurate, but sometimes tweaking is needed one way or the other.

Laura, I know how frustrating that must be! I feel for you, and wish you were having great results. I wonder if just a little more time will get the ball rolling. There may be some serious internal healing going on. The health benefits of ADF alone make it worth keeping around, IMO.

Thank you Dawn and Carol... Dawn, I am going to try that, lowering my numbers and see what happens. Carol, I think you are right. I've been dieting my whole life, I'm sure a lot of healing is necessary. Both physical, and otherwise. I'm not giving up.

Mine started out ok. I've eaten 3 ff turkey hotdogs with eggs and drank my hot tea. I'm goin high protein today. I have good losses when I eat a lot of protein.

Laura~ maybe do what I do and go all protein for a few days. I do meat and eggs. It may work to get your losses started. I have a hard time losing also. I did some reading and I think it has something to do with Leptin. Google it. It's very interesting.

Good morning, everybody! Waking up on an UD always feels good if I've kept my previous DD plan. It was a good day yesterday. I didn't deviate at all.

We're planning breakfast at our favorite bagel shop. I'll order an omelet this time. Tonight we're going to a Chinese buffet. They have 12 kinds of ice cream! But since I'm avoiding sugar for now, I plan to stick to things like shrimp cocktail, sushi and vegetables. Right now I'm really enjoying my coffee!

Hope everybody has a great day!

Good morning. I haven't eaten today, so I am looking forward to a good dinner. I've been having higher DDs, but still managed to go .6 lower than any DD in a couple of months, so I'm grateful for that! I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Tammy- I think that's a good idea too. I will try that this week, see how it goes.

It is always harder when I am out of routine, which I am this week with my boyfriend home and spring break. It will be a challenge, but I am going to try! Had banana pancakes this morning, and I can tell just by the way I feel that I really shouldn't be eating high carbs like that. I feel bloated and full and gross. We have dinner at a friend's place tonight, so nothing until then... and stick to steak and veggies.

Having a "bump" day (MD) today to adjust my rotations for my social life. it's Saturday, so I don't have to have a plan, except for number of calories. Will have access to what I need when I need it. Feels nice!

Yes, life does get in the way. It's so pesky that way. I am one who is not single-minded and it takes almost perfect conditions for my diet to be perfect. Fortunately, JUDDD doesn't require perfection and I have been able to at least not gain. We can do this!!!

Sounds like a good plan. I need to do a MD before Tues. as well. Today would be a good day to do it, because I still haven't eaten at nearly 1 pm...but it's the weekend, so Monday will probably be it. I hope you have a great day!

I took my granddaughter out for breakfast at Bob Evans. I had a stack of multigrain
Blueberry pancakes (I think there was 4) with sf syrup (no butter) and a few bites if scrambled eggs. My granddaughter wanted them so gave them to her. Making a pork loin for dinner with veggies.
My weight has been bouncing around since I began JUDDD. HOPE I SEE SOME PROGRESS SOON! Ugh!

My UD morning is going by slowly. DH and I slept in until almost 9 o'clock which is seriously unusual for us but it was lovely.

So far I've had coffee. I'm not tummy hungry, but I'm head hungry and I know what I want. I want eggs benedict and champagne but that will mean a trip to the store and I'm lazy.

But I don't want to settle.

I opened the fridge and looked in there for a while but nothing else floats my boat right now, so I might just have to run to the store.

It seems I do better on UDs if I "scratch that itch" so to speak and eat what I really want and not just what I have on hand.

Laura, I feel your pain at not losing! After my hysterectomy almost 2 years ago, I've not been able to lose anything. I've put on 20+ lbs., all while eating low carb, or JUDDD, or WW. The JB's have been encouraging me to hang in there, so I'm giving it another month.

I had the DD of all DDs yesterday. Not hungry at all - it was a fabulous day. Wish all DDs could be that easy. Today, all I've had is a BPC because like most UD mornings, I'm not hungry. But, I usually don't eat anything until lunch.

Still thinking about lowering my UD cals because eating up to them doesn't seem to be doing anything but showing a gain on the scale. Maybe 1500/500 instead of the 2010/402 the calculator gives me.

Can someone answer a question? I have been doing well eating within my calories for DD but then my up days have been low carb, but I have been eating enough to satisfy me. I am sure some days are well below my UD calorie #, but maybe a some have been a bit over too. (If they are it can't be by much.)

do I have to be eating all of my UD calories?

I must confess, I woke up so hungry it was unnerving. After an hour and large mug of tea, it still hadn't faded, so I took some OTC stuff to help my appetite.
Normally, I'd just eat, but I'm trying to save myself for dinner out.

kyla, I am still a but I will say from my 6 weeks of records, I lose better when I eat close to my UD cals. Since I really don't want to eat a lot more in volume on UDs, I eat calorie dense foods in similar amounts to a DD. For example, a 90 calorie bar vs a 230 calorie bar for breakfast, fat free half and half vs heavy cream in coffee, broth with shirataki noodles vs a cup of chili, low fat cream cheese on a cracker vs peanut butter.

Also, my experience has been that if I undereat on UDs, DDs are harder. It took a while for that to kick in.

I think most of us would recommend eating close to your UD calories. It seems to be pretty important to (a) get a wide enough swing between your UD and DD calories, and (b) keep your metabolism humming along at a good pace. I guess there's also (c) which is it helps not feel so hungry on DDs after a good, fueling UD.

Yam, I know what you mean by scratching the itch.
I'm over the moon these days about the combination of Greek yoghurt, vanilla protein powder, ground flax seed, and berries. It tastes like cheesecake to me but feels wayyyy better in my gut and sustains like nobody's business.
When I want this, nothing else will do.

Vicariously enjoying the moment with you!

I'm going to a fashion show/lunch today and have absolutely no way of knowing what will be available to eat. Happy it's UD and I can have whatever and not worry about it. Of course, the mental calorie counter will be in overdrive the whole time!

I'm so glad today is an UD. I feel like it will be a good, controlled one, but with plenty of good stuff to eat.

I'm getting my new microwave installed this morning. I hope it all goes smoothly. You know how it is......sometimes things just go wrong on projects like this. The guy will be here in about 20 minutes. I'm excited! Plus, it'll keep me out of the kitchen during the time he's working.
