Do you alter your exersize level if you do less?

I sometimes walk fast up hills 5 or 6 or more days a week, other weeks I may only get out 3 or four times. I always walk for groceries, sometimes every day, other times every other day.

Yoga is every other day.

Do you all change your excersize level as it fluctuates with the natural flow of your life and eat less calories in those weeks?

Probably this has been covered but I'm not seeing where atm.

Hi Milly!

Some people recommend not even using exercise calories. My opinion is that you should use them if you can and lose weight. However, if your exercise varies a lot, you might just want to try Dr. Oz' suggestion of adding back 1/2 your exercise calories when you use them. This way, you don't have them when you don't need them, and you don't risk overestimating how many you burned. Just an idea.

Most people select the lowest exercise setting on the calculator and do not eat back exercise calories. Too easy to over-estimate what you actually burned and then eat your way out of any caloric benefit of the exercise.

Thanks Sammy, Chris, and Yennie,

OK, sounds good. I think I will just use the low percentages and see how it goes, hope it goes.

I will keep in mind how most people over estimate their activity levels.

I had a Fit Bit and found that it was not accurate and had overestimated calories. That was after a month of wondering why I was gaining slowly, but surely, even though I was on my feet all day every day.

I dont mind losing slowly, although to gain is just not ok while fasting every other day.

So far juddd seems to be working for me, glad to say my clothes are getting looser already.
