Wow! This is amazing to me! I am hoping I can do as well on my cruise in May. The last two cruises I have gained 5-8 lbs. each. Did you just try to stay low carb all the time? Did you fast at all? I am trying to work out what will be my plan for the week so that I stay close to the same weight and can jump back into rotations when I return and get back to losing.

Sorry to hear about that food reaction. That is really strange!

This looks like such fun to me! My daughter and I watched the episode of Mighty Ships where it was on the QM2 and loved it! What an experience that will be!

Our cruising budget is too small for Cunard - but maybe someday!

Sorry to hear you had the allergic reactions during your vacation. Its a bummer to not be 100 percent on a lovely vacation! And wow, no weight gain...on a cruise??? Unheard of! Good for you!

I leave for Paris in 42 days and I am so excited! My daughter is flying in from L.A. and gets in 3 hrs after me. I hope we find each other! ha!

I'm working my A$$ off trying to build up some stamina for all the walking we will be doing. I don't want her to have to slow down for Mom.

And oh, awesome about the blood sugar. I have to watch mine religiously. I bet if I ate like I used to I'd have T2 by now. But I ain't gonna let that happen!

Oh Carly! What fun! New Yorkers going someplace tropical/warm is a blast to watch! I know, I have been on a few of those cruises. You will have a blast!

Jan is almost down to one month before lift-off! LISTEN to that clock ticking! It sounds like you are going to several cities? Please share your itinerary so we can all share vicariously.

Kim, I guess JUDDD has taught me a lot about paying attention to my hunger. I have gotten really good at eating a bite or three of something but not actually cleaning my plate. On vaycay I tend to do a kind of Fast 5 - eat less or fast during most days then eat to hunger in the evenings. And, if it does not taste extraordinary, I don't eat it (if it is totally amazingly delicious, I order seconds).

I started that pattern about 5 months into JUDDD in 2012. Have had numerous foodie events (and, golly, three cruises) since then. The most I ever gained was 3 pounds...which vanished in two DDs. Most of the time I return at the same weight I left...and really enjoy the food while I am gone.

This is just one of the many reasons I suspect I will stick with the IF lifestyle for the rest of my life...it lets you eat!

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.

WOE: JUDDD let me lose 30 pounds and keep it off

As I posted when we got back from our cruise in February, I was the same weight as when I left.

I simply find that I am not that hungry any more and it is easy to eat smaller portions. I did save most of my calories for dinner. Lunch was usually a nice salad.

It is so nice to not have food control me anymore. I really think JUDDD is the main reason for this. It is also nice to know that if I find a really yummy dessert that I will have it, enjoy every bite and then be more diligent the following day.

Nancy, your cruise sounded lovely--minus the food allergy/reaction! I'm guessing that also had something to do with you not gaining anything? Although I know you are quite diligent and not susceptible to gaining. I have never been on a cruise, but it is very tempting and something I hope to do in the future.

THIS time around - what with controlling diabetes via eating and dealing with food allergies - I did not eat 'normal' cruise opulence/decadence.

However, on all those previous cruises and mmmmm-yummy foodie vaycays, I ate what I wanted when I wanted (as SeaBreezes says, I did not over eat, and I did not eat mindlessly...but, I ate a lot). Most of those I also returned weighing within a few ounces of my initial weight.

When JUDDD Magic is working, special occasion eating can be a really satisfying, low stress experience!
