Cindy: So, so sorry for your loss. My oldest sister, Mary E. was like a second Mom. She's the one I talked about who passed last year. The tears have not stopped yet. She loved butterflies and another sister phoned me today and was talking about butterflies. the sorrow comes like waves.

You have wonderful loving memories of her. Cherish those.

Tammy: back!

Good job, Tammy.

I was supposed to have a DD today, but had to help out at a function where they were serving delicious finger foods and tea cakes. I had planned to not eat, or to take something home, but I decided to indulge. I don't often have the opportunity to eat those kinds of foods, so I made a decision to go ahead and have another UD. Progress delayed, but not abandoned.

I really think our new scales are hopeless. Yesterday, after my down day (Iím doing 6:1 at the moment) they said 113.7. This morning, after an up day that finished with eating out: 111.8. I moved the scale to another spot on the carpet and tried again. 113.4. More plausible. But nearly 2 lb difference Useless device! Doesnít it realise itís spoiling my graph?

Do you think maybe it's the carpet? I'd move it to a hard surface. Maybe the bathroom or kitchen if your place is all carpet. I've heard that scales don't weigh accurately on carpet.

The bathroom is carpeted and the kitchen is too far away to be wandering around naked . Oh well. If it seems too erratic I’ll just have to go back to using the old scales.

I agree. Carpeting is not conducive to scale accuracy.

Try putting a board underneath them, a marble pastry board or wooden chopping board. Large tile?

Glad you had some special food Cindy, it is a sensible decision in my opinion. Next DD will be all the easier.

I have to tell you all that last night I felt so sick and hungry. I had to eat something so I ate a small bowl of cereal. Just enough to get rid of the sick feeling I had. It put my calories up higher than I wanted, but maybe I have to get use to this.
Also, this morning I have a headache. I'm holding off eating until about 11. That will give me 12 hours of fasting.

So happy it's an UD today. I'll be happier when the JUDDD magic kicks in and the DDs are easy.

I just ate 4 scrambled eggs and used Smart Balance butter. I'm in alot of pain right now. I have chronic back pain from degenerative disc disease that started in Mar '99 when I herniated my L5-S1. It's getting worse. I think it's time for another MRI.

Looks like I'll be resting today.

I wish there was some miracle operation they could do that would make me better. I'd take just a 50% reduction in pain. My legs hurt too. They want to do an operation where my nerves would be burned and it would reduce that pain a lot. But my insurance won't cover it. Ugh!!! I tell people all the time....DONT DO ANYTHING TO HURT YOUR BACK! When your spine gets damaged, and you live with pain, it affects your whole body!

Tammy, my son has been home for almost 10 years and I think he has finally accepted that people really do mean it when they thank him for his service. It has to do more with how he views our country right now, but I tell him people are thanking him and to just not analyze it!

Kissa, so very sorry for your loss.

Sirtain: Ahhhhhhh...Spring! I've been spending lots of time in my beautiful back yard. DH planted some flowers for me and I like just sitting out on the patio with some tea, listening to the birds and looking at my flowers. Our weather is so beautiful right now. Puts me in an awesomely good mood. Very zen. Of course I'm attributing a lot of it to the "JUDDD Calm" lately.

Thanks, Kissa. I was thrown out of my morning routine, by good stuff(travelling and spring break) and bad(nasty cold). Amazing that if I don't get on the computer in the morning, it doesn't happen for the whole day. It is nice to catch up with everyone again, and see what's been going on. Also, good and bad. I was sorry to read about your mom/friend's death. It is good that you had someone like that in your life, so sad to lose them.

The good part is that now that I am finally taking care of myself (yes, 'resting' means sitting in one spot, not running errands, who knew!) I am getting lots of knitting done on my knee socks. I expect to be rocking them in April. Those of us who remember the Sixties know that means a mini-skirt is in my future!!

I remember wearing knee socks and short dresses... um... to grade school

Sorry for the folks who have Spring Fever, but not in a good way! I'm a little sneezy, but I'm telling myself it's allergies from the snow melting and the *yuk* flying around in the air.

My company's system was down for a few minutes today, so I decided to make ice cream.

And I've made the bases for 3 flavors, because I got totally carried away...

I started with ultra deep dark chocolate (recipe on my blog, see November)... then moved on to coffee (I used the same pot), and then remembered I had a raspberry coulis sitting around, and thought that would make a good base for a raspberry flavor.

They're all chilling outside, and I'll gear up the machine soon and get them going Will let you know how they turn out!

I'm glad something productive came out of our down-time. I thought it was maybe just local, here, but I guess the whole systems was down. Wow.

It's a DD, so I'm totally jealous of your ice-cream.
