I don't get milkshakes. They're like doing ice cream intravenously. I'd rather eat it.
This may be the beginnings of some personality test that has nothing to do with anything:
Do you like to eat or drink your ice cream?
Do you like it to be green when you do eat/drink it?
Or minty!?!?
Do you sing Irish songs all the while?

Etc.

You guys crack me up.

Also true for my DH and me, no matter which diet I'm following at the time. Perhaps the opposite side is true, too, and I'm the one who brings home stuff that isn't helpful for weight loss.

Hello! I'm Tammy and I would like to join ya'all. I did JUDDD a while back and life happened and I went off of it. I'm going to do it again now and I'm ready. No matter what happens in my life, my health is more important.

So yesterday was my UD and this is my first DD. It's gonna be tough! But I've done harder things so I can get thru it.

I don't do well with names right away. Sorry. But to the person who lost her "second mom", I'm sorry for your loss.

Dearest Dawn, once the worst of the tears were over I thought of you. It was your loss prompted me to call her last year. Soon after that she deteriorated. Her older daughter asked me to wait a while before visiting and, like a fool, I listened to her.

Thank you all for your comfort.

Tammy I remember you. Your son was deployed, I know how thrilled you were on his safe return back.

Thanks, Cindy! I greatly appreciate the thoughts. I'm hanging in there, one day at a time. (one drink at a time? hahaha!) I am hoping that some day I will look back at this time of my life and think "ooh, parenting teens, I miss those days!" like I do thinking back about morning sickness and colic now?

Yam. I hear you too. My DH is 6'3" tall, and he's dropping weight like crazy.

He can exercise almost daily, but my joints need a break (I am trying for EOD though)

He can not eat most of the day on UD or DDs without any issues it seems, but I struggle with hunger quite a bit (and yes, I've told him he needs to eat during the day b/c our calorie allotments are different on both UDs and DDs, but he's "too busy to remember" )

So I'm worried that he'll weigh less than me, soon.

I'm with you K. I like the concept of a milkshake, but no part of the reality-- the calories, the liquidiness... I prefer my ice cream scooped. DH likes soft serve, but I'll stay married to him anyway

Cindy, I'm so sorry for your loss. How lucky we are when we have 2nd moms. I lost mine a year ago just over a year ago.

Tammy - welcome back! So glad to see you again. So glad you have your son back safe and sound. Thank him for his service.

Cindy ~ yes, that's me! My son is back but clearly not the same person he once was. Still praying for him.

Thank you all for the welcome! So far I'm doing ok. I should never have stopped in the first place. Dumb mistake! This time I'm in it for the long haul. Just have to learn to do it on vacations. That will be a challenge, for sure.

Carol ~ I'd tell him but it kind of irks him. Because he says people say it and really have no idea what it is he does or been through. I told him people say it out of respect to service members. He don't get it. He's young! Lol.

Seabreezes, I expect to enjoy the best of both worlds. Occasional sallies up above the snow line to join the skiers for lunch, and some car hire days, where we will drive down to the springlike valleys. It is a win win situation.

Bless you all for your thoughtfulness.
