WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
My hair is very thin and fine. I have lots of strands, but if you look at one of my hairs next to a "normal" person's hair, it's puny. I've never been able to have long hair because it hangs limp and lifeless. I'd say don't go too short, too quickly. I wore an A-line bob for years and got lots of compliments. I'm loving the ease and convenience of the really short cut, but it was a SHOCK when I first did it. I have a wonderful stylist who really takes her time and adds lots of texture with thinning shears, razor, electric razor, and scissors. You'd think it would take no time to cut my hair, but it takes about an hour each time.

I used to go to just any old hair stylist, and finally found this one by accident. I've been with her for 2 years now and wouldn't imagine going anywhere else, even though I pay 3-4 times what I would pay at one of the assembly-line shops. I've decided that you can't skimp when it comes to hair and shoes.

Oh, and one of those makeover sites where you can upload your picture and try on different hairstyles! Those are so much fun, and I could see how ridiculous I would look with some of the styles I wanted to try. You can also try out different colors, and makeup, whatever. I'm so not a "girly" girl, but I like those apps.

Oooh, you girls and your makeup/hair talk! FUN! I don't do foundation/powder. Hmmm. I have horrible under eye bags, though, so do use an under eye concealer. Not that I can really tell, but it makes me feel better. LOL! I've never been a huge makeup girl, use more now than I ever did before, though. (under eye, powder blush, eye liner, mascara, shadow) Sure doesn't take me long to do and I wouldn't know how to take any longer, honestly. ha!

Hair. Sigh. I have literally none..and what I *do* have is super fine. I can't have long hair any more, so I'm always stuck with a shorter bob. In fact, I'm going again in a few minutes for color/cut. I wish I could figure out another style (I'm bored), but I can never seem to find anything that looks cute with my 20 hairs.

It ain't over yet Frosty!

I doubt any of you will surprised to know that I loooove make-up and take far too long 'doing' my face daily, or even twice daily if a n evening event allows.

But I do have say that I am a total convert to Bare Minerals. Vicky introduced me to it about 4 years ago and I was very sceptical, but i was solo wrong. it looks so natural and is so day to build up or blend.

I trained as a beauty therapist so I love experimenting.

I am so happy that you said your hair is fine and thin. Exactly like mine! I am definitely moving toward a shorter cut. I don't know about those makeover sites though--I'd probably look silly in any haircut--to me lol. Worth a try though.

I'm waffling over having a McDonalds shamrock shake tomorrow. I want to try it, it's only available a few weeks a year, but I have the hardest time talking myself into a "drink" with over 600 calories!

Hmmmmmm....I've never had one but you are making me want to go to McDonalds.

Can you share it with someone? Can you divide it into 2 servings, put half of it in a storage container and place it in your freezer? Maybe it will taste like an ice cream treat, frozen, on your next UD??? Or be really extravagent, drink part of it and bravely toss the rest. (Don't know if I could do that. Only recommending it for you!

Very brief vent or rant coming.....beware....

Ever since I re-started JUDDD DH has been losing weight. Every single morning lately he tells me "I lost another half a pound." Today he lost a pound since yesterday.

We talked about this yesterday and I told him I think he is losing weight because I'm not cooking for him or serving him for the most part on my DDs. He has to fend for himself. Mind you there are always scrumptious leftovers in the fridge because I cook great meals on UDs with lots left over.

And, DH loves leftovers!

However, sometimes he is just too lazy to heat stuff up or he puts it off or whatever.

He is down 8.5 pounds. I think he weighs less than I do right now by about a pound and a half. He's an inch or two taller than me, but he is a GUY. Hello. His belly is bigger than mine. But it bums me out that I come out in the morning and proudly announce "I've lost another 0.2!" and he is down a pound.

And, he's not even really trying.

OK. vent over.

I said no to a Shamrock Shake the other night, but evidently it was a really good batch. When they're good they're r-e-a-l-l-y good. But when they're not, oh so not worth the calories! It's a gamble.

Yam, I know what you mean - it's not fair! I've been struggling and trying these last few months and......nothing but gains. My mother, on the other hand, who hit her goal months ago and has been adding back calories, continues to lose about a pound or two per month. I had to call her the b-word last time she told me her weight (totally joking and she laughed!). T'ain't fair.

I'll bet she love that!

I know I should be happy for DH. He struggles with his weight too. He's down almost 20 pounds from where he was 2 years ago. He has diabetes, too, and I wouldn't want to have to deal with that.

On a funner note: While we were talking yesterday about my DDs and how they are affecting him, out of the blue he said, "I think I might want to try the 5:2 plan you were telling me about. About 600 calories on two non-consecutive DDs per week, right?"

You could have knocked me over with a feather! I told him about Mosley's book way back on February 13th when we were driving to southern California. He drives and he always asks me to talk a lot to pass the time. I'm happy to oblige.

He says he loves hearing me talk and I always have interesting things to say. But in reality, I don't think he actually listens because most of the time I'll say "remember when I told you about X-Y-Z?" and he will say "no".

So the fact that Mosley's 5-2 diet details stuck with him and that he is actually considering doing it is amazing to me!!!

I am afraid I don't 'get' milkshakes, nor mint drinks, except a créme de menthe perhaps. Nor do I get St Patrick's Day, unless you are Irish...really Irish. Sorry.

How lovely that DH heard something you said. It has been years since that happened in my home, lol. 5:2 seems to suit men especially well. I am sorry he has diabetes Yam-Yam.

I'm Irish! My late brother and his wife had the joy of going to Ireland three different times for long stays. They said it was life changing. Oh, and we were born and raised Catholics so St. Patrick was a big deal. I have music books full of Irish songs and I know them all.

on it being years since your DH heard you!

On the diabetes, it wasn't that long ago that he was diagnosed. Part of it is genetics. It runs in his family (type II) and part had to do with weight.

He's managing it really well just with taking metformin (glucaphage) a simple pill you take with meals.

I'm an ice cream fiend, so anything cold and creamy is heaven to me. And St Patrick's Day....just an excuse to drink beer......or just drink!

Ah Carol there it is you see... I never need an excuse to drink. And I love a Guinness, but green beer? Count me out.

And Yam-Yam, you are an American, Irish American I'll accept. I love that you sing all those lovely Irish songs. And don't get me wrong I have visited Ireland on many occasions and will again, I love it.

Getting excited as my lovely Vicky (Mint) is coming over from Oman for a month next week. We are going to Austria with them for a week, 12 adults and 4 littleies, the excuse being skiing. I will not be skiing!
