March Daily Weigh-In or Alternate Day Weigh-In

Goals for March include maintaining between 120-125lbs (this may be adapted when I have more data about my body composition).

I weigh after DDs.

March 1: 118.2lbs (new low)

So, I'm below the range but as I've had a migraine followed by a bug since last Tuesday, this is not too surprising as I've not been eating much and I'm dehydrated. Plus, the lower part of the range is more of a guideline whereas the top is non-negotiable and I weigh after DDs which probably makes the range for those more like 117-123.

Dec 2014 A DXA scan reported very low muscle mass (sarcopenia) so I'm still thinking about how to cope with that. I have some joint surgery to schedule. I may miss questions that people ask me or personals. Apologies if I do, it's not intentional.

OMG! I was watching the clock and thinking when is Slow going to start the March thread! You are going live a long, long time my friend and I hope it's a healthy one too! (Indian superstition, if you think of some one and they appear in some shape or form, you have a very long life)

Goal for March: to get under 13 stone and stay there! I've dipped under a couple of times in the last 6 months, but never sustained it for more than a few days, so I really want to keep moving downwards this time. If I could make it down to 12st9 or lower, that would be amazing.

1/3 (UD) - 13st1 (new low)

Sandy1 and to JUDDD - lots of us had apprehensions about DDs and you'll find out whether or not you can adjust to them and if ADF is compatible with your lifestyle (useful acronyms).

Remember that you can have 500kcals or so a day for DDs when you're starting out because the first 2 weeks is about getting used to your rotations. Any questions, please speak up and don't keep them to yourself as they may help other If you introduce yourself in the March Newbies thread then more people might have a chance to you and you'll find support from other starting out.

Thank you JD and slowsure, I have never counted calories before but I have found somewhere where I can track them, I was amazed at how many calories were in certain foods so I think this is going to be a really good learning experience for me, I also didn't know about weighing food....and was really shocked after weighing my banana yesterday that it had 169 calories lol, yes I read I can have up to 500 while getting used to it, my actual dd number came out at 249 which made me go into complete panic mode....so I will try to go for the lowest but its good to know I can go higher if I need to....I have just finished one month on atkins....but it made me feel ill, anyway off to go grocery shopping and to find as many low cal things as possible...thanks for the welcome and hope I haven't de railed the thread to much....I will be quiet now lol.

Don't be quiet, we want you to ask questions while you're finding out if JUDDD suits you.

249kcals sounds quite low as you don't look particularly short or even older - would you mind quoting your height and age in a thread (the main JUDDD or March one) and some of us will check the calculations for you if you'd like. (Obviously, there's no need to do this is you'd prefer not to do so.)

Hello everyone and thanks to all the great advice, so glad to share goals, achievements and encouragements with yall. I started a JUDD program on 2/3 from 202 to 187 now. After last DD day down .6, just trying to hang in there and do what I know to lose. My goal is to be at 179 by then end of March. Just added walking on the UD, sometimes on the DD too with DH being my trainer in this area. Seems he likes to diet along with me, he does a LC calorie counting diet. He has been losing right along with me so its nice to have a buddy in this... I am on a DD, so I am going to substitute other activities than to eat.

It's good to read that you're doing so well. You're officially out of the obese BMI range (>30BMI) and into the 'overweight' range (25-29.9) as far as I can see by your ticker - well done as that's always a good milestone! KUTGW

I am not able to set a weight goal for any time period. I am a failed perfectionist and if I don't meet a set goal I usually have to struggle to continue the journey.
