Pat, I'm so pleased to see this for you. I know it's very difficult to accept but we have to trust the JUDDD process. There will be all sorts of sodium/water/glycogen/electrolyte fluctuations from day to day but we need to trust what is happening and keep an eye on the longer-term picture. Yesterday was really hard and I have a bit of guilt for leaving a gathering at my sister's house early.
Right now I am putting my WOE first before everything and I just couldn't face the myriad of desserts that were about to be served.

Pat, It's so important to put yourself first when you're making lifestyle changes. Maybe you don't think you did it gracefully enough? That will come. Or you weren't supportive enough? That's my particular fret. Whatever it is, the person you are becoming is worth it, I promise. It gets easier as you practice, so keep on!

Normally what I've been doing is having smaller portions of my usual unhealthy fare and then wondering why I was not satisfied! Today was a DD and I tried a red lentil and lime soup and it turned out great!

Goals for March include maintaining between 120-125lbs (this may be adapted in response to new data about my body composition).

I weigh after DDs.

March 1: 118.2lbs (new low)
March 4: 118.0lbs (new low)
DNW
March 8: 116.6lbs (new low)
March 11: 116.2lbs (new low)

March 13: 116.6lbs

Still haven't decided whether to amend my maintenance range in response to the DXA scan results. Although I have no biomarkers for metabolic disease (nor symptoms), the results indicate that I should (theoretically) consider myself at high risk for them - in which case, I might benefit from reducing my body fat levels.

If I attained 110lbs/50kg, assuming that I'd maintained all of my LBM (approx 36.5kg/80lbs), I'd still be approx. 25% body fat. I'd need to be 47-48kgs (98-100lbs) to have a BF of 20% (assuming no loss of LBM).

How are you using the MCT oil? For the Shangri-La Protocol?

Why are you thinking of adding carbs, if that's not an intrusive question (ignore if it is).

Jumping in - home from my February trip to AZ to escape the cold Northeast.

March 7 - 164 - DD ( I'm going to ease back into EOD - fingers crossed)
March 8 - 162 - UD (I did well yesterday - distractions are a GOOD thing!)
March 9 - 163 - DD (Had grandkids over yesterday - made some good choices, but no idea how many calories)
March 10 - 161 - UD (Under 400 calories yesterday and bouncing in the right direction - all is well!)
March 11 - 161.5 DD (Have decided not to count and write down UD calories for this month - will see how well I do in making good choices and portions)
March 12 - 159 UD (I just LOVE JUDDD - cannot believe how easily I transitioned back after a month vacation.)
March 13 - 160 DD (Just feeling content today - the JUDDD magic... ahhhh)


New goal - 155 - expect it will take at least 2 months, but I'm ready!

You will settle into JUDDD - just trust! And if your UD calories are over, sure tighten them up - but don't go lower. For me, UDs took a bit of practice before I reigned them in. <wink>
