Happy Monday JB's!

3/1: UD, 196, 1621
3/2: UD, 195.5, 1941
3/3: DD, 196.5, 238
3/4: UD, 194.5, 1697
3/5: DD, 195.5, 268
3/6: UD, 195, 1693
3/7: DD, 194.5, 240
3/8, UD, 193.5, 2100? Didn't count so well
3/9, UD,193.8, 1987 (new scale)
3/10, DD, 193.4, 250 planned

Genuinely can't figure out if my new scale is accurate. I've used my 3 pound dumbbells testing it out more than I've ever used them for weight lifting, and each time the scale gets it right, but no gain after a second UD is suspicious to me. The old WW scale read 194.5 this morning, which is the same as what it read yesterday so I suppose it's possible. I know it's a stupid thing to worry about, but I want these losses to be real lol

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
March goal: Maintain under 150 with some mixture of EOD/5:2

2/28 - 146.6 - UD - 2583 - 125g protein - tom

3/01 - 149.0 - UD - 1490 - 82g protein - day 11 of tom! That jerk can take a hike any day now!
3/02 - 147.8 - UD - 1910 - 114g protein - tom still
3/03 - 148.2 - UD - 2104 - 91g protein - tom!! 4th UD in a row, but changing my rotations since Keira starts softball today and dinner will be late.
3/04 - 150.4 - DD - 351 - 43g protein - Much needed DD, 14th day of tom!
3/05 - 147.8 - UD - 2003 - 98g protein - tom
3/06 - 148.8 - DD - 571 - 69g protein - tom
3/07 - 147.2 - UD - 3000? - 100g protein? - tom
3/08 - 151.0 - DD - 389 - 38g protein - Holy Bounces, Batman!! - tom
3/09 - 149.0 - UD - 2314 - 100g protein? - Went to Magic Mountain - tom
3/10 - 152.4 - DD - tom

Getting quite worried here. I like my high bounce to be BELOW 150. I'm trying something new for maintenance where I keep DDs below 600 and eat whatever I want on UDs, but rotating EOD instead of 5:2. I know of at least one other person around my weight who maintains beautifully at 3000/600(ish). So far, it's not working for me, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I'd really like to get to the point where I don't have to count on UDs anymore. I have a real sense of fatigue with counting right now and was hoping (and am still sort of hoping) that this will work out for me.

I doubt this tom issue is helping anything either. Today is day TWENTY of tom, only full tom for about a week, but spotting the rest of the days. I feel PMS-ey as well and suspect full tom's on his way back. Ugh!

Most of you are doing GREAT! Keep on keeping on.

Dawn, I know you will get it figured out.
Don't forget to celebrate your huge accomplishments!
As to TOM I suffered terribly w/ what the docs called 'dysfunctional bleeding' for 2.5 years. Finally one day it stopped and never came back. I never did the standard menopausal thing. No hot flashes or sleep disruption or anything. Just the dysfunctional bleeding. It was terrible. There were NO products that kept me 'clean' and dry. I almost quit my job so I would not have to cope at work. "They" tried to talk me into a complete hysterectomy but I declined. My father died during a routine surgery and I'm scared to death at even the thought of general anesthesia.
I am so sorry you are dealing w/ this. Our bodies are so complex!
Big hug.
P

TOM wreaks complete havoc with the scale in a normal month...it stands to reason, IMO, that it's causing chaos with all the issues you're experiencing right now. I am so sorry girl. Hang in there!!!

Dawn, what did the doctor say about this? Because I know when I had IUD long, long time ago TOM used to behave exactly like this. It was such a relief when I got it out and went back to 4-5 days of TOM. It can make you anemic too!

No set goal, just stay as close to the numbers as possible(1619/324)

03/01 DD 154.8 121
03/02 UD 153.8 1884
03/03 UD 155.4 1515 (was supposed to be DD but went out of town)
03/04 DD 154.6 353
03/05 UD 154.4 1714
03/06 DD 154.8 247
03/07 UD 153.6 1453
03/08 UD 154.2 1808
03/09 UD 156.6 1624 (little stomach upset)
03/10 UD 154.4

P.S. Need to get back into proper rotation! One thing I did find out though, when left un-checked, Carb and very little protein is my staple diet!

JD, the doctor said it's normal. It didn't do this last time I had the Mirena (that I remember), and my TOM went completely away for several years. THAT's what I'm shooting for!

Interesting! Must be a new type which makes TOM disappear! Just be aware that prolonged bleeding (not just spotting) can cause anemia. Hopefully, it is all due to body adjusting to a foreign body.

WOE: JUDDD Maintenance. Ketogenic PHD.
Start Date: 11 Dec. 2011 Restart 1 Jan 2013
Goals for March include maintaining between 120-125lbs (this may be adapted in response to new data about my body composition).

I weigh after DDs.

March 1: 118.2lbs (new low)
March 4: 118.0lbs (new low)
DNW
March 8: 116.6lbs (new low)
March 11: 116.2lbs (new low)

I haven't decided whether to amend my maintenance range in response to the DXA scan results. Although I have no biomarkers for metabolic disease (nor symptoms), the results indicate that I should (theoretically) consider myself at high risk for them - in which case, I might benefit from reducing my body fat levels.

If I attained 110lbs/50kg, assuming that I'd maintained all of my LBM (approx 36.5kg/80lbs), I'd still be approx. 25% body fat. I'd need to be 47-48kgs (98-100lbs) to have a BF of 20% (assuming no loss of LBM).

Sept 2014 A recent DXA scan reported very low muscle mass (sarcopenia) so I'm still thinking about how to cope with that. I have some joint surgery to schedule. I may miss questions that people ask me or personals. Apologies if I do, it's not intentional.

Jumping in - home from my February trip to AZ to escape the cold Northeast.

March 7 - 164 - DD ( I'm going to ease back into EOD - fingers crossed)
March 8 - 162 - UD (I did well yesterday - distractions are a GOOD thing!)
March 9 - 163 - DD (Had grandkids over yesterday - made some good choices, but no idea how many calories)
March 10 - 161 - UD (Under 400 calories yesterday and bouncing in the right direction - all is well!)
March 11 - 161.5 DD (Have decided not to count and write down UD calories for this month - will see how well I do in making good choices and portions)

Thanks JD - I feel very hopeful that I can get back down quickly!

New goal - 155 - expect it will take at least 2 months, but I'm ready!

It looks like you're well on your way to 110. 25% BF sounds like a great goal!

You are definitely headed that way, slow. I don't understand all the details of what you're dealing with, but love you oodles. Forgive my ignorance, but what does your primary care doc say about all this? Does he/she feel you should lose a bit more weight?
